How did you determine the actual manufacture date by the serial number? I used the Singer website to find out mine was made in 1952 but I would love to know her actual birthday. Thanks in advance!
wound up with one of these when i purchased a sewing desk at a thrift shop for my wife. We were going to get rid of it and then learned online how nice they can be. Anxious to start restoring it to a good working condition to learn to sew on :)
hello, i have just picked up an unusual 15 series that i canot identify, it has a bird decal on the base but looks in many ways to be very similar to yours, i can find only one other example with a bird decal on the internet. also it seems it may be a 15-80, do you know when this particular machine was made.
Hi! This is a great sewing machine, sew jeans I see great, my machine at such a speed that broke a needle, I have a license at home or Archer class Singer 834, is a good machine was twice in the repair did not want to sew, but he followed her in finally I took and repaired so that now she sews everything to me! : D Thanks for the nice movie. Yours - Wojtek
You may very well know this, but I use Singer sewing machine oil on the finish of my machines. I have a 201-2, a 66 and the 15-91. Of course, the oil won't restore the finish but does a great job of shining and cleaning without harming your decals at all!
In my 5+ years of restoring many different models of machines, the only SINGER machines that had 15 class bobbin are the model 15s & the 237s. The rest of the older models have the class 66 bobbin systems, or of course the drop-in touch & sew systems. I've checked my resources & there are only 5 vintage models that use the class 15 system: these are the 203, 215, 223, 237, and 238. There are 56 models that use the class 66 bobbin system. So NO, my statement is not "terribly false" it's very true.
Your statement "most singers have a size 66 bobbin/hook is terribly false. The model 15's (in many permations) were made from the early 1900's until the 1960's....Millions of machines of both bobbin size were made throughout the 20th century!
If you're looking at this machine to buy... Get it! I own one and it's my favorite machine. It does everything. It's a beast, but tame also! The video doesn't lie! This machine is awesome! It really is! Thanks for the video!
En mi casa tenemos una maquina de coser Singer modelo 15 tambie, segun se es del año 1903, es decir que tengo una maquina de mas de 100 años. Que bien!!!!!!! tengo historia.
that machine is doing some impressive sewing!

I think it's a pretty machine, just well-loved :)
I just won a 15-91 in a case for $125 shipped. Appears that it was a sound decision. Looking forward to learning how to sew.
