  • Nurburgring official laptime:

    7:56 Porsche 911 Turbo

    7:56 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale F1

    7:56.73 Honda NSX-R

    7:59 Chevrolet Corvette C6

    7:59 Porsche 911 Carrera S

    7:59 Nissan R33 GTR Spec V

    7:59 Dodge Viper SRT 10

    WOW Congratulations JDM!!!

  • This is Nirburgring Sensei Master!

  • @pube83 I think the greatest thing about Honda is that they are primarily a motor company while others are car manufacturers. But try and argue with a ford or chevy guy about who makes the best engines.

  • WTF?!?! Look @ 0:21 its 945 hp.

  • @sausagenmuff Sure, NSX inspires real confidence. If you ever got a chance to drive one hard, you will know.

  • Faster then GTR and 911?

  • 0.21....945hp???? WTF??

  • @lolzoretwo most likely because the car is leaving the ground. On top of that hitting the rev limiter in a performance engine does not necessarily blow it. Now if he mis shifts and over revs beyond the limiter... Chance for it to go Bang.

  • @samdavis1228

Not to mention the NSX engines are practically race worthy from the factory featuring forged titanium connecting rods (in 1990). The Corvette, for instance, didn't receive titanium rods until the 2006 ZO6 trim level. Ferrari started using them in 1994 with the F355.

  • Someone asked if this is a 92-95 type r or the newer, this is definitely the newer r because the 92-95 was 5spd

  • reason why he holds in the clutch early is cuz there is freeplay in the clutch it is a racing car for one and the clutch is still engaged even though he is putting his foot on it........

  • He hits the rev limiter constantly. if hes a racing driver he probably blows a lot of engines.

  • @lolzoretwo Well he was a racing driver long time ago, he's retired. Sounds like a lot of you guys have been playing too much Granturismo and thinking you all can take over formula one or something

  • fast old man!

  • Unbelievable. Took a look at recent records at the 'ring - It takes 12+ years and 100+ more HP to beat the NSX. A tribute to having a racing driver provide input into a car's handling.

  • @vasantos I was thinking the same thing.

  • @vasantos yep, confidence in one's machine make for short lap times. power doesn't.

  • His footwork is awful, nobody would open the clutch until shifting, I mean look at Senna in Suzuka in NSX. He's a true god going over the speedo twice. Senna would post a great lap time here for sure.

  • Bad downshift and over-revved at 4:48 youtube time 4:24 on-screen time. Caught it with the clutch though before it bent valves. Gan San is an incredible driver. I've seen just about all of his videos.

  • sounds like he hit the rev limiter a couple of times. if he hadnt done that maybe it wouldve been an even better time..

  • is this a 92 typre r or 2002 type r?

  • Pagani Zonda R is the fastest production car-based on the Nur.

  • am i correct in saying that the honda nsx r was the first production car available to the public that cracked 8 minutes at the 'ring? i read/heard about it from somewhere. 7' 58" or something like that.

  • @yewuntthu btw, i know that gan san did it in 7 56" but i meant back then then when it was first set.

  • @yewuntthu No, it was the r33 skyline gtr(7:59).

  • i love th sound of this car.

  • the line where the time starts is NOT the line where the time stops ... so this lap was not under 8 min

  • @tonhaxxor "Not all of the following lap times are comparable. A full lap of the Nordschleife, bypassing the modern GP track, is 20.832 km (12.944 mi) long. Most laps are completed 200 metres (656 ft) shorter for safety reasons"

  • @tonhaxxor

Look at other recorded lap times, they all end at that point.

  • Ayrton Senna would have enjoyed driving this nsx-r... On leather shoes, obviously.

  • Everyone knows that Gan san is the honey badger of drivers , Gan san don't give a shit

  • the most dangerous man in best motoring xD. This old man goes fast as hell!!!

  • red line dat bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • how old is NSX-R and much is it in USA?

  • @araalexansss non type r run for 15-25 thousand dollars

  • Why is he pressing the gas with his heel when he downshifts?

  • @sicjustinmagot

to keep the braking force from inducing too much understeer

  • @sicjustinmagot

    when he is downshifting

  • @sicjustinmagot to match the lower gear with a higher speed of the engine to get a boost. In the old days here in Germany it was calles Zwischengas.

  • @sicjustinmagot it's called 'heel & toe' and is used my capable racing drivers in a car with manual gearbox.

When you match the revs of the engine to the lower gear (example downshift from 4th to 3rd), there is less wear to the clutch and more stability in the drivetrain. When you don't heel & toe while changing down, there is a slight judder in the drivetrain which can cause instability, which is something you don't want.

For a good video, check this : 'Race Car Driver & His Footwork'

  • @giriphotography That's really cool. Seems hard to do.

  • @sicjustinmagot it feels awkward at first but you get used to it by practising a lot ;-)

  • @giriphotography I tried it in my Mazda but the throttle is like a inch in front of the break. haha

  • very good driver. Perfectly executed Heel and toe downshifts, late braking, smooth accelleration. driving to the curbs too

  • Kids, don't envy a fast old man on the Ring. SALUTE

  • So, he is using his right foot on both the brake/accelerator at the same time, just to match rev's during a downshift, right? I think I watched his feet more than the track. Good stuff.

  • Wrong, double clutching is not done when your racing, it takes to much time to shift. Don't take fast + furious too seriously

  • The gearbox is fully syncronized, he doesn't really need to double clutch.

  • Quick question. Why is he not double clutching when using the heel and toe technique? Would that not allow a faster downshift?

  • I love the japanese language and how they sound .. they sound like a macho version of chinese!

  • Dude was in redline way too much.

  • @DDRGURU56 too much redline? those engines were made to sing man, awesome driving

  • @rippin696 No engine is made to be held in redline. It's indicated for a reason.

  • @DDRGURU56 look at any video of a half decent driver attacking the ring, rev limiter is a must.

  • @DDRGURU56 most engines arent made to be held on the redline, but this is an nsx. you have to drive them just below cut-out revs if you want to get the best time. you're probably thinking about old tech v8's and family saloons. beautiful singing from nsx :-)

  • watch?v=0Zr5hy3iQlc

  • I think thew driver was a Senna follower..Because , he uses the same technique Senna used! Look at those corners, wow!

  • This is a joke right? After 20 seconds, a 2.0 litre turbo 230 bhp Renault Megane R26R is crossing the Finish line with a 8:16 time. Great driving though.

  • @Mikelyno86 the nsx was limited to 180km/h (like all jdm). Watch the speedo at 7:50. That is the reason why he is lost a few second

  • @Depmester ... Yes I saw that. I didn't know they were limited to 180 ... such a dumb thing to do when you have a 3.2 litre engine developing 280 hp (a very capable car).

  • Man the Japanese can drive....

  • anyone of you know how much 1lap cost on nurburgring

  • @belgiumlife not too much, like 20 euros or so. it'll cost a lot of balls though

  • amazing foot work

  • Ferrari 360 cs did it in 7:56 as well.

  • i just wish honda would make a new version of the nsx...

  • That is some serious heal-and-toeing.

  • great video! Like the Nurburgring. I think it is one of the best tracks. See mine on the ring:

    /watch?v=lr-ui_OX4fg

    /watch?v=7NOrkJa_ZKw

    /watch?v=yo5TerYcbI4

    /watch?v=UfBW6jNfgrU

  • 945 HP? Jeebus!

  • I'm a noob... but y is he pressing the clucth, the brake and accelerator at the same time like at 7:18 and other multiple times?

  • @Dissez503 Its called heel-toe down shifting, its to match the engine revs with the gearbox to keep the car balanced.

  • @Dissez503 He is changing down, braking and matching the revs at the same time. Most race drivers do that. Some (like Hans- Joachim Stuck) braked and pressed accelerator at the same time to not to lose the pressure of a turbocharger in fast turns as he drove for audi in 80s.

  • 2:57 vtec =p

  • dam he makes that shit look easy.

  • 2:07

    that's bloody ballsy!

  • Like this new JDM page on Facebook search: JDM-Drift-Race

  • this guy is amazing! haha i wish i could drive like that. check out the little trick he had at 5:00. watch his feet there. hes slowing down while getting the engive revved up to take off the clutch

  • @KiKaL8 He's using a technique called "Heel and Toeing" you basically brake with the big toe of your right foot and use the outside of your right foot to blip the throttle just before you engage the gear. It's vital to use this when slowing down for a corner and keeping the downshift smooth. Takes a lot of practice!

  • @BritSportsCars Heel and toe is easy. He's not double declutching though, most F1 drivers did that. Look it up.

  • @BritSportsCars And also to keep the engines rpm in the power bend, ye? =)

  • He has driven thousands of laps there, in lots of races, so that's why he can drive like that. When he was a kid he was Japan's Formula 2000 champion 1973 more than 25 years before this video! then raced in Europe. That's why he is so good.

  • Mr Kurosawa drives like rock solid. He uses every potential of NSX-R. No waste in his driving. It feels like whole car is just working its best for him, even each bolts and nuts are working hard for him. He is great great driver..... After watching this video, I feel modern GT-R(R35) is great jump for japanese which easily gets fast enough to break lap record of NSX-R with perfect driver.

  • holy shet~~ very very great driving....... how can that old man drive like that..... what a man...

  • i got tired of watching, and he did not get tired of driving...

  • Not even whip-shifting. Holding a Racecar steering wheel with just one hand is craaazy. Still I think whip-shift is a majour advantage in any sense.

  • @lxnice What's a whip-shift? Is that like flat shifting?

  • Is that a car in the mirror or what?

  • @HeadcrabZombiez his helmet duhh

  • man and machine at its very very best.... dream car

  • why does it say 945HP? i don't believe that

  • @lamborgini01

it shows the atmospheric pressure and should have been hPa.

  • In 'ring NSX-R is slower than GT-R, but I like NSX-R much more.

  • nsx type r+gan san=EPIC WIN

  • omg is gan san he is about 50 + years old and official ex-driver of honda that man knows pretty good the hondas especially the Type R's and everything with VTEC on it :)

  • just a joy to watch. proper manual and a proper driver

  • Un-freakin-believable!! I love Hondas! (Will have an Integra Type-R DC5 VERY soon!!)

  • Dont all talk bad things! Nurburgring is 25+km and you cant all that 25km drive without mistake! Even and pros have mistakes we watching that all day in F1,WRC and etc!

  • Good demonstration of heal and toe down shifting.

  • @jossiqua Yeah, i was paying more attention to that than cockpit cam.

  • 5:08 he could have been quicker....Before that he also missed an upshift by about .3 so he might be good but still could improve.

  • his shifting is also very nice!

  • I would crap myself going through those corners at those speeds

  • this is the way to enjoy your car....

  • Ayrton senna do it in 7:48 =)

  • Perfect...

  • is he clutcching all the way down>?

  • if that was 945hp all that car would be doin on this track is spinnin the tires.this is diffentally stock.i would know.my coworker has a acura nsx (we raced against my loaner g37x) and i will tell you for a car that old it has power.my m35 has some mods (still NA) and isant nearly as fast as that car.

  • What a blast...

  • 945HP is actually 945hPa.

    Atmospheric pressure was 945 hectopascal.

This car is stock so it has 3.2litter 280PS engine.

  • let me check my savings account

  • What a great car NSX is. To but 950 on the track...now thats a far away of everything.

  • in the first 20 seconds i watched the power

    945HP man thats a lot

  • @TheNuno190

That`s the air pressure, which should be 945 hPa in plain English.

  • Gan San owns

  • Lol badass

  • Crazy old man!!! Real fast!!!

  • what a driver

  • it takes skill and guts to drive the ring

  • amazing car/driver combination,remember it's a car u can by in the show room,not modified!!!!!!GO !!!!!!HONDA!!!GO!!!!!

  • Tsuchiya does it again...J technique driving. Wow @ 7:56:733 what an awesome time too!

  • @sprydo7

it's not Tsuchiya, but Gan San driving. Close though, just add 30 years.

  • @Toki52 you mean its not Senna!!

  • @sprydo7 Keiichi Tsuchiya is not a regular visitor of the Nordschleife

  • a señor si tubiera yo money money

  • can't wait for the new NSX to come out(2011)... I'll be waiting for that monster to hit the track at Nurburgring !!! =)

  • Sadly, Honda canceled the new NSX@dazvbkosk

  • excellent driving

  • 945hp???

  • i suck at nurburgring in forza... the only last race i need to finish it9 <(~,~<)

  • @MarkMasters83 i got in the top 100 times for that track, do you need a car?

  • love the nsx type R its been my dream car for years now.

but driving it takes a lot of skill at the nurburgring

  • Comment removed

  • lol...too bad joesphb787 doesn't have enough $ to even get a second-hand Civic

  • love the nsx-r

  • very lap lol

  • A great video and an awesome car. All the new cars that lap the Ring are faster because they're turbocharged eg Nissan GTR. And we all know that's called "cheating."

Those other cars fall-apart pretty badly too. Lot of beaten-up Nissans around....

  • the nsxr is the only honda i would sit in... civics, s2000's and integras are gay ! get a rotary if you want to turn heads

  • @josephb787 lol u still are gona ride a honda :p

  • @josephb787 lol and then you would look smart when you flood your rotary

  • @josephb787 once you drive an S2000 you'll be hooked

  • Yea, VTEC only works 100% at or near the max rev range hence why honda engines rev so high.

  • bare in mind when my EK9 was standard, i flew past friends cars still..PS13, S14a, Mini cooper S, Ford RS, golf R32 MK4...

BUT...couldnt pass other fds cars like evo, skyline, sti & rx7 etc..

Hondas are for track and handling..not for racing straight lines etc what skill is there to racing in a line? not much really lol

  • Ek9 was my first car. when i bought it my driving skill was crap. the more i drive it and the more i get to know my car the more i can improve on its inner ability to drive well... honda's are a hard car to master driving.

  • AVHBI - i didnt say vtec kicks in when u downshift, as i said its necessary if u want to get 100% performance from a vtec engine.

SR441 - i dont think theres many FWD cars out there that can compare to EK9, DC2, FD2 etc on a track.

as CORSASPORT2433 said, u cant compare big muscle cars or big turbos etc with a EK9.., if ur going to compare this car to something else atleast its gotta be in the same league.

  • DC2's are nice.

  • actually heel and toe doesnt work on ALL cars, im not saying heel & toe is just necessary for hondas either, im saying for VTEC its necessary if u want it to perform at its best. If u havnt done ur research on how honda engines work then u wont understand nor will u know how to drive them im sure.

  • I agree with kkong6, the thing is sr4410 you and many other people on youtube know fuck all about hondas, again alot of people are comparing ek9s to massive 3.0 liters turbos and whatever eles. the ek9 is only a 1.6 and will leave you standing in corners.

  • a honda may have great suspension. I'm not denying it, some highend cars don't even have the tuning potential, but none the less I still stand by my first point. lol @ me knowing fuck all. I work for Honda.

  • heel and toe is necessary for all VTEC engines, by doing this keeps the vtec active so the power is straight there for u to exit the corner, alot of people dont know how to drive vtecs which is why so much slack is given to the honda name, i get the same when i sold my ek9 to my sister, just heard complaints about it being slow when actually the fact is, some people just dont know how to drive them, any honda enthusiasts can support me on this~

  • Nothing to do with the VTEC. VTEC does nothing when downshifting and it's also nothing like a turbo where you want to keep the turbos spooling. VTEC is only another set of more aggressive cams that will only work at higher rpm. What he's actually doing is balancing the rpm of the engine with the gearbox so that there is no sudden shift in the cars balance.

  • no, hondas really are just under powered FWD cars for the most part... deal with it lol.

  • Right.... So S2000 is an underpowerd FWD car? How about the NSX, a Mid engined RWD car...

  • s2000 is RWD fuckbag

  • It's called sarcasm, fucksock.

  • ok, didnt read all comments, thought u were another "Honda-Hater"! Later Shitface

  • Heel toe is necessary for ALL engines, it has NOTHING to do with VTEC. All heel toe does is align revs with the revs of the trans. Fact is, unless you dump money into it, its JUST another honda, and its still slow.

  • Hmmm he dont go down 6500 RPM, even in neutral he keeps it above 6500 RPMs. I can just imagine how fast and feels like. geez im in 4000 RPM in tight corner here ill be scared lol.

  • that man can drive.

  • @brocky i wish honda kept producing NSX'S :(

  • and it's GAN SAN ! ! ! WHAT A LEGEND HE is....

  • genetic047

Same with all the car manufacturers tests.

  • Better Time, better Image !?!

  • The Point of start and finish the Time Attack, are not the same !?! I think it´s a 8´03´.... !!!

  • lol i got tought by my dad yo rev my engine on the down shift, dubble clutch, heal toe.......it was good but when i came to learning to drive to pass my test i foud it very hard to drive the way they wanted me to

  • the 320hp i quote from some car magazine. becaused they said the last type r was a lot powerful than the rated bhp. of course honda only tells us 280 because of the japanese rule then that no car shall be made with more than 280hp.

  • i guess nissan didnt get that memo

  • whats the R? NSX vs NSX R? what are the difference?

  • r for type r, nsx r vs nsx is like civic type r vs normal civic integra type r vs normal integra

  • @supertrex2 NSX Type-R = NSX R = lighter UFO with much performance that the standart

  • not bad for a car that first came out in 1990. at most 320 hp (normally aspirited) compared to a gtr's 480 hp (turbo). and the lfa's 552 hp (f1 tech). the latter 2 came out 2008 and 2009 respectively. that almost 2 decades. both with paddle shifters, launch controls, better suspension, larger brakes, and better power to weight ratio. the shifting diffrence alone may have cost the nsx a few seconds. not bad really for a 20 year old technology. it is just off by 26 or so seconds to the lfa.

  • @elybakod

I thought this car had 280 hp?

  • With more power and with pattle shifts. It could easily do like 7:30.

  • 7:56:733

pretty slow nowadays, but u could tell its the max of the nsx already driven by a really pro driver, technologies is amazing isnt it; oh by the way nitroxize, thats call heel toe

  • perfect driving

  • one question : why do they accelerate when they go to brake , not best explanation foe example - 2:43 . the rev goes up... while brakin . any ideas?

  • dropped down a gear
