@addy5125 Cloud was injected with Mako together with Zack. Zack broke free, and was helping out Cloud to escape with him. Shinra were chasing after them because Zack and Cloud are their lab rats. At the end, Shinra finally reach both, but Zack sacrifices himself to save Cloud. Thats why Cloud is emo.

@Quizerno It contradicts the flashbacks in the game, that may be why. Zack wasn't at Nibelheim, Tifa found her father in the reactor, and Cloud was there when Sephiroth threw Tifa down the stairs. But I agree that this short film is pretty cool anyways.

I liked this anime..... but I call BULLSHIT, when zack takes out that shinra squad with no buster sword.... Even with a buster sword, theres no way he could have done it. 3 lame soldiers shoot him up later, Im like "The fuck?" zack was a pussy, this anime is still good though, and FF7 is still the best game Ive ever played, AERIS!

@HeroSavage I know how the game works, I know what Cloud is capable of, Cloud would have been much more of a pussy than Zack if he hadn't got Mako/Lifestream poisoning twice as compared to Zack and the other SOLDIERS who only got regular Mako baths, That's like saying Vegeta on Steroids and PCP is better than Goku on nothing but Oxygen. It's just not enough to quantify someone as weaker or stronger just because they weren't (ultimately) as fortunate. Zack had much more natural potential.

Anime just exagerates everything. Zack was not that tough in the game and thats the bottom line.

The biggest down side to a remake is that they would probably redesign the battle system. The original has a turn based system, which would likely be thrown out for graphics. Another thing is the humor, which would suffer because a lot of the funny moments are made even funnier BECAUSE of the 90's graphics, not to mention the games subtitles. This game is a classic for so many reasons, it's sad to see that the newer fans only want a remake for better graphics(lookin' at you, CC/AC fangirls).

There is a discrepency in this. In Crisis Core and FF7 Cloud seems to lift sepiroth into the air with the masamune then fling or drop him into the pit or lifestream or whatever is down there. In this Sephiroth willingly jumps in taking his own life. Can anyone clear this up?

It's a mistake on the creators part, however there is still a legitimate reason for the events to be incorrect. L.O. is more or less from Tseng's viewpoint, and the discrepencies can be attributed to that fact. Tseng is reading documents about the Nibelheim incident, and the documents are presumably eye-witness accounts from the Turk that was there. Because no one actually saw EVERYTHING that happened in the reactor, the documents differ at some points from what really occured.

It took like a bunch of request from Tetsuya for a studio to finally respond so were lucky we got this. Tetsuya said though after he finished this with the animators he's glad that it wasen't an anime. Because he had to vision everything from the game into anime type art screens.

Explanation (Spoilers): Cloud is an infantryman, and Zack is Soldier 1st class. After Cloud defeats Sephiroth as you see here, both men are taken and experimented on by Shinra (Cloud is poisoned by Mako and is now comatose). Zack takes him and escapes, but something about Cloud's condition (or Zack's subsequent death) transfers part of Zack's memories to him, so now Cloud thinks HE was the 1st class Soldier. Then he keeps thinking that until Tifa rights his memories.

Although, Crisis Core is a little contradictory too.. Sephiroth walked past Cloud and out of the room with all the pods and Cloud caught him on that bridge. On top of that, in Crisis Core, Zack lands on the stairs, also wrong. I wish they hadn't contradicted themselves there. :P Still, favorite game.

I've watched every video I can find and beaten FF7, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus and one thing still escapes me. Overlooking how wrong this anime was with how Cloud defeated Sephiroth, there is still something I don't understand. How did Cloud do it? How did Cloud manage to find this kind of strength? He wasn't infused with mako or injected with S cells until after he defeated Sephiroth. He was just a normal Shinra soilder.... Can anyone answer this?

@kykel09 Well, considering that he was a soldier its likley that he was well trained and given the situation he was likley in a fight or flight mode where ones physical abileties are raised for a short duration in order to either fight a threat or to escape it as quickly as possible.

Cloud wasn't SOILDER yet. That's what I'm saying. When Cloud actually defeated Sephiroth he was only a regular shinra soilder. An infantry man. He hadn't made it into SOILDER yet. That's what I'm curious about. And Tifa never saw Cloud at the reactor either. That whole scene where she realizes he came for her, she actually says that when she's inside his head in the game and helps him seperate his memories from Zacks.
