Phantom Menace is underrated. Sure the Plot is bad but the effects are much better in comparison to the future 2 star wars films because they did not just use CGI everywhere!!

George Lucas: Special Effect is just a tool. A means of telling a story. A special effect without a story is a pretty boring theme.

it had some visual effects scenes that are realted to storytelling.

1.)podracing: it shows anakin's ability to use the force by podracing.

2.)duel with maul: it represents the relationships like master and apprentice and fate of this fight. and shows obi wan how he overcome his anger by killing darth maul
