  • love the floyd in the background!!!!!! catch you guys later comfortably numb

  • Five straight minutes of pure unintentional comedy. Sit back, spark a j and enjoy.

  • The olive green one is a german product.

German engineering is the best...best best...over the top of everyone else.

One day we'll rule the world again ;-)

    Hoch lebe Deutschland!!!

  • @AdDiCtEdToWiNd They have some good stuff but on the average I think the Swiss have the best!!!

  • @latinvin Nice comment ;-)

  • @AdDiCtEdToWiNd owow lol what does hoch lebe dutschland mean?

  • Them Sporks or foons are priceless. I carry one all the time, great days are upon us. Nice upload.

  • I am sorry that you had a divorce.

  • Dude you got a deal and then some. I wish I had a Surplus Store in my town.

  • i order 100ft paracord 1qt canteen canteen cover canteen cup and 3 firesteels 45$

  • @geekyfreak45 paracord is only like 6cents a foot where i live

  • i have a canteen from milittary surplus but mne is a ww2 german canteen

  • There's no end to the things you can get these days at stores, is there? I suppose we're in the golden age of backpacking/carcamping. But I like making a lot of my own gear. Often you can get better items that are more practical to carry by doing it yourself, and way cheaper. I've come up with a cooking system that weighs 2.9 oz's and is very compact. It would be a great system for survival or any other type of outdoor activity, for one person. Thanks for sharing.

  • i bet uve heard this but about the heat, geat idea for a stove must say, but also the heat itself works extreamly well as the fuel for a small stove too!, but great vid also 8$ holy crap whata deal

  • @usmc11able Yes I think it has been mentioned a few times about heet. I agree its a helluva deal I got.

  • nice background music

  • Nice. I think the cup with the folding handles is a knock off.

  • PINK FLOYD!!!

  • wow, all i get for 8 dollars at my surplus store is a deactivated grenade.

  • @nicothegreat795 lol bet that'd make a hell of a paper weight or conversation starter though!

  • @suiters2009 lol

  • great find there, and all for eight bucks is a stead of a deal!

  • wait, 8 for all of it???

  • @MrJustCollin Yup, 8 bucks, I think I was more surprised at the time than anyone else. I ended up donating a bunch of items and clothes to the place after this deal. It is still my favorite 2nd hand store to go to.

  • pink floyd... great choice

  • i have a question are you more of a doggie or a devil dog cause does going to another branch still stay true to semper fi?

  • @firelord9099 Once means always! I took the mentality of the USMC with me into the Army. It will always be Semper Fi. Devil Dog til the day I die!

  • @NCHiker1970 so you went from the Marines to the Army also? so did my dad hes a Marine joined when he was 18 did his 4 got out tried to reenlist a few years ago and he was 36 so he went National Guard

  • @goodnightChesty1775 Yes, I went from 12 years in the USMC was out for a short time then went back into the US Army. 6 years later I retired. Tell your Dad I say OORAH and Semper Fi.

  • @NCHiker1970 will do sir!

  • man thats a great price what a steal

  • is there a internet site for the army surplus store?

  • 8 BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 ARE U FLIPPING KIDDING ME!!!! I THOUGHT U WERE GONNA SAY AROUND 30 OR 20 8 BUCKS!!!!!!!!!! JESUS CHRIST THATS AMAZING!!!!!!!dfdh

  • hey...can i know the brand of the canned heat thingy...and where'd u get it from?

  • Nice meal kit NCHiker.

    5/5

  • you have quite a muffin top for an ex soldier :O

  • I hear comfortably numb =P

  • You do know that none of this is US military? Its all Asian made?

  • @scooterstrats I looked through the items I picked up the Swedish mess it is Swedish, The MSR bottle is not made in the US, but the canteen is US Military and has the Made In USA on it as does the canteen cup and stand, the aluminum canteen cup(which I found to be junk) is made in China. The tag in the canteen cover even said Made in USA. Im not saying all items are made in USA but the cup, stand canteen and cover are all USA made. only one item was made in China.

  • Ok, Im just saying, beware as most things that are sold as surplus are new-made and asian-made.Just be careful as some labels lie, look for US military contract codes on any labels. That is the only way to ensure that an item is actually US surplus as opposed to import crap !

  • And a Made in USA tag doesnt mean actual military issue. Any actual US mil ltem will have a contract number , DSA number, etc, DSA code number,. I have found korean made stuff with made in usa labels on them, so look for the DSA codes! So be careful what you pay for !

  • @scottstetzer I know what to look for as I am retire military. Spent a lot of years looking at the stuff LOL. When I go into the surplus stores I keep my eyes open. Thanks for the warnings though someone may come across this and make a better choice when going through the surplus stores.

  • @scottstetzer My Durango SUV is US made but a piece of shit. My Apple computer and iPhone are Chinese made but very good. Beware of generalization. It will come back to bite you.

  • Youre right ! Hopefully others see this and may learn something to educate and not get ripped off ! Good see you here, and to help others !

  • I would have to agree with "thesuperboss" on this question. google it and see what comes up for your area.

  • @StrykingHawk try puting in local army surplus or somthing on google maps most towns have them

  • any ww1 or ww2 helmets there?

  • I have seen a few, but those are hard to come by most of the time.

  • re fill the Canned Heat with denatured alcohol.

I've seen a P-38 style can opener that has a spoon. But, on many occasions I realized I forgot to bring a spoon to work, and I cut a disc from the top of my yogurt cup, folded it slightly between thumb and fingers and improvised.

  • I plan on adding the denatured alcohol after I use up all the fuel in the can.

As for the improvised spoon...LOL I have done that myself a few times!

  • cheaper than dirt . com

  • you paid more then that

  • Nope I pulled everything out of a discount bin! Everything from the surplus store was the cheapest part of my day out. Stopping at REI after was a mistake, I paid 4 times and got less items.

  • hi i like the Pink Floyd music in the background,,,cool

  • were you in the Marines

  • I served in the USMC and in the US Army and retired in 2008.

  • my dad served in the army

  • @NCHiker1970 How where you in both?

  • @009jorge1 In both Branches of military? I applied to be a Marine when I was 18 got out for a short time then joined the Army Armor Division. A lot of folks do that sort of thing, some even transfer from one branch to the other while still in.

  • Cool stuff, and yes I must agree. Divorce does make you lose a lot of stuff. It just disappears and you don't realize it until you need it and go looking for it.

  • I had to start all over! It really sucked but at least now Im a happier man!

  • lol i love the idea of a spork

  • I love how versatile all military things are!

  • Yup... Great for many uses!

  • they had everything like you had stuff like the gas tanks they use on the trucks or the food boxes and water jugs, even stuff likewater purification tablets and other cool suttf

  • just went to a surplus store today, got one of those canteens with the insulated pouch and next im getting a full body insulated suit and a combat knife they use :)

  • You should buy a bunch of those Tangia sets and sell them on Ebay. It is good gear and people are really looking for them.

  • I thought about it, but have not went through with it yet.

  • Yeah, looks like there is some good money to be made by doing it. Look at the prices people are asking for the Trangia cooksets. Hey I may be your first customer! :)

    HAve a great day!

  • Man! Smoking deal! Deals aren't as good at our MS stores anymore.

  • I have a MS not far from my home that is huge! There is always something on sale. It all depends on what they have gotten in and how much they have at the time. I have seen a lot of the MS that are smaller go down hill and up the prices on a lot of the thngs they have.

  • I know, sad the one here I used to shop with my dad as s kid and now their selection is sparse and prices for used gear is almost like it is for new. Does your MS have a website?

  • oh ya i forgot to add, they have 2 locations , one in Burbank, the other one in Bakersfield. they both are huge and have military vehicles outside of them to look at!!

  • ya surplus places have amazing deals! i was on vacation in Minnesota and i went to a surplus place. i got a REAL MILTIARY 7 pocket chest rig for only $25.00!!!! the real price was $90!!!

  • I agree, the things you find at these places can be cheap. You got yourself a hell of a deal for the tactical vest! I have only seen them around here for around 50 bucks. I have two myself but I got them while in the military.

  • ya i only got it because i Airsoft. i is AWESOME!!!! it is really big on me because i am a skinny 14 year old boy!! If you ever come to California you have to go to a surplus place In Burbank Called Supply Sergeant!!! thet have everything you could imagine in a Surplus store!! Great Video and thanks for the feedback. you could subscribe to my channel if u want!!

  • Where in Minnesota?

  • in Minnesapolis. its called american Army Surplus. The lady who owns it is kinda a ass. i went in there ith my little bro the first time and she yelled at us to get out. Scared the S*** Out of ME!

  • Sounds like great customer service to me...NOT! To bring back a customer kindness seems to work a tad bit better! LOL

  • ya thats why i like Supply Sergeant in bakersfield more than the store in minnesota. They Have WAY more stuff there!

  • I live south of the Twin cities and have heard about that surplus store and their "customer service."

  • $8 for all that stuff?

  • Yes, everything I picked up from the surplus store was only 8 bucks. I got a hell of a deal!

  • Hey, I'm assuming you're from NC because of your username... What store did you go to? I was just in Wilmington and tried to go to one but it had closed down.

  • Yup, NC is home. I head over to Delk's Military Surplus just outside of Asheboro. Huge place with so much to look at.

  • Yep! I used that German mess kit for a season and it started leaving a residue in boiled water, so I De-Assed it last year.

Like you I love when I luck up on a deal, good luck with the HEAT stove and keep us posted.

  • I had the residue issue with my first one I owned but I found that if you put a mix of baking soda and water when cleaning it that problem is solved. As far as the heat stove goes... not very good for high temp cooking but makes a great food warming stove.

  • aluminum causes lukemia!

  • I will not disagree, but it is the dust from the corrosion on aluminum (aluminum oxide) that is the main factor in the studies, Cooking from aluminum has been blamed for many diseases and many have been disproved. Aluminum is a factor in some cases but cooking in aluminum is far safer then what most would consider, I am not saying there is no risk I'm saying it is lower then thought.

  • Since when?

  • You got yourself a nice workspace there.

  • Thanks, I'm happy with it! Guess you could say its where I hide when I'm not outdoors.

  • Haha - yeah the outdoors is natures best workshop! Nice video by the way..

  • I could not agree more.

  • do they have knives such as spyderco or benchmade or SOG please reply

  • They have a wide variety of knives, more then I could list.

  • how about uniforms probably not but just wondering

  • Sure all sorts of uniforms from all branches of the service. They are not that expensive as I recall and you have a choice of new or used. They even have Guillie suits as well.

  • do they have any army vests at army surplus stores

  • Tactical Vests are available at most, but if you are asking for the TA-50 that would be a hard one to find.

  • Looks like you made a good haul! My local army surp. store is going out of business. The owner told me its getting harder and harder to get true military surplus items in. He said the government would rather destroy, or sell it to other countries so... That just SUCKS!!

  • It is getting harder to find military items. There are still the online military surplus stores, and sometimes you can get some good deals. Thanks for commenting!

  • Are you on a cane? Hope it's just for walking and not needed for an injury. Great finds. Wish I could get deal like that! I want that swedish mess kit.

  • Yes Im on a cane and it is due to injury. Deals like this are all around us, we just have to be in the right place at the right time, the mess kit can be found at most Military surplus stores. Happy hunting.

  • Dang Dude are you like disabled? Can I ask what happened?

  • Its a military issue, lets leave it at that!

  • Ok. Was it combat related? I just have a lot of respect for people who have served. Thanks for serving.

  • I thank you for the support of our military people, My injuries while in service are mostly combat related but I do not care to talk of them. Once again lets leave it at that.

  • Would you shut up please? You are about as ignorant a person as I have seen in awhile.

  • Up Yours Dude! Just because I'm curious you call me ignorant? I respect our service men and women!!!!

  • Digitalbumpin and fishingandhikingfool Please refrain from any disfunction between each other on my pages please. If you must insult one another please do so in a private message. Thank you

    Drak

  • Please don't tell me where and how to post my opinion. You don't have that right. Ban me if you must but don't ever talk down to me.

He deserved what I said. End of story.

  • I talk down to no one! I don't want to argue. I just asked to take it somewhere else. Not Banning anyone.

  • I dont think he talked down to us. Sorry for telling you off. It pissed me off though to see what you wrote. Truce?

  • Nice, you are listening to Pink Floyd in this video :D Comfortably numb.. Nice :D

    Great finds.

  • The green mess set is a Swedish Trangia type model, and should also come with a windshield, and a little alcohol burner- they sell for ten pounds online (around 5 dollars US) and are brilliant value

  • Excellent finds, sir.

'Made' out like a bandit is the expression.

I would like to lighten my hiking stuff. My hiking inspiration comes from Slo-go'en Steve. He's a radio wizard who hikes.

  • It was a great bunch of finds, and I feel the same way I think I did make out like a bandit.

  • great video!!!!

  • Wow! You must have better Surplus stores than we have here in Charlotte.

  • Sorry, Love your videos but didn't put it together. I was hoping to be able to raid the military surplus stores you go to but I'd have to take a plane since I live in Calif.:-)

  • there's alot of surplus stores here on the west coast

  • Hey what state are you from? Great score!

  • the name should have been a dead give away..

    North By God Carolina!

  • Don't you just love getting great deals..

Around Christmas time I bought a bunch of canned heat..hope they work when it comes time!

  • Nothing like being prepared!

  • Drak how much can you get me one of then aluminum canteen cups and stands for?

  • you want to stay away from aluminum cookware, whether it be home or outdoors. You can google the reasons. The only positive is the weight, ease of manipulation(stoves, winguards), cost.

  • $8!!! Damn!

  • Nice Finds Drak, I can't go to REI anymore, everytime I get in there I spend a lot of money there. Also I recently picked up several light my fire brand small Sporks at Walmart for $2.88 each. Military surplus, looks like greywulf and I will be heading out to one tomorrow. Thanks for sharing your finds.

  • Great finds, I need to go shopping with you!!!Ed

  • Lets go... We have a few Military Surplus stores in the area and always a deal... Military Discount helps too. I should have picked up a few MRE's while I was there, 3.59 for each.

  • man thats a deal the msr fuel bottle is worth 15 plus alone

  • I know! Plus the Eagle GLobe Anchor emblem of the USMC made even more special to me! OORAH!

  • Nice haul!!!

    Bill
