  • Were there any times where you almost dropped them before you broke the record?

  • @TheMrflutterguy

    Great Question!

To continuously juggle (cascade) for 12 hours I had to force myself into a state of paranoia. EVERY throw and catch had to be perfect. Because of this, I caused myself no near-misses.

At about the 10 hour mark, my mom approached me from the right to ask me a question. To get my attention she waved her hand which temporarily distracted me and caused my only near miss (I caught a ball off-center of hand). Her question: Do you want a drink?

  • @SlickJuggling Haha that's hilarious! Oh and another quick question: When you finally did stop juggling, did you actually mess up? Or were you like, "Screw it. I already broke the record" *Drops balls*

  • @TheMrflutterguy

My body hurt, but I could have continued a few more hours. But everyone else wanted me to stop and understandably so. The media wanted to get the end of the record on the air that night, the library wanted to finally close, and there wasn't much reason to set the record higher. After checking to be sure I passed the 12 hour mark, I did a 1 up 360 clean finish which is harder than it sounds considering the my body only knew the cascade for the past 12 hours.

  • Was the juggling record allowable for drops and recoveries or did you not drop once?

A few friends and I were discussing this lastnight as we think we might give the record a try :P

  • @systemcat

must be continuous and hands must alternate throws/catches (like the cascade).

  • sorry, i asked it that much because i didn't know that my comment was approved because youtube said that it was not but now i see that it was but just not yet, so sorry. I'll ask again, are you aloud to take breaks during the record of 12h juggling?

  • @knorieworiebobsnor

Good question. Many records allow breaks such as 5 minutes off for every hour. However, this record did not. I had to continuously juggle 3 objects without pausing for even a second. In fact, I couldn't even juggle the objects in one hand to give the other hand a rest. I have the settings so that I approve all comments on my videos.

  • @SlickJuggling ok, thanx for answering, i'm practising to break the record 2! my personal record is 16min30sec :)

  • Hey my man, how did you specifically train to be able to go 12 hours of juggling? I mean if you don't want to give away secrets I completely understand but just curious.

  • @IntoAllTheImpossible

about 150 hours of practice doing just the 3 ball cascade. It is a lot harder on your body (joints, muscles, posture, ability to focus, etc.) than you might think.

  • If Jason Garfield saw 1:03 he would cry

  • @ltsjack

LOL I totally agree. But it is a fun routine that I enjoy doing. Too bad we all can't present juggling as he does. I wonder how long he can entertain a young audience.

  • @SlickJuggling Probably not too long, as entertaining as his apple rants are I don't think 7 year olds would apreciate them, lol.

But it's pretty funny actually, I once did a load of 5 ball tricks like 6x,4 360s, 744 and a shower in front of a few people and they just yawned and then when I did like a 3 ball neck catch they all aplaused, lol

  • oh yeah...

  • oh yeah... 1:07...

  • how are your musscles not insanely big from all the juggling...and im going try and convince our juggling society in university to try and break it :D

  • @foreverrandom1 lol, I have small endurance muscles. You aren't the first to tell me they want to break it.

  • Man i was able to do 1 hour but 12 thats insane, i guess i could pull it to 2 or 3 hours but after that is just insanity food? water? tired? wtf

  • My very first endurance attempt was 2 hours. My muscles got so cramped I couldn't continue. 100+ hours of practice later and I could go for 12 hours. Continuous cascade. No water or food.

  • Shame on me for not finding this most excellent video sooner. I am soooo your next new subscriber.

  • no canes :(

  • no canes :(

There are no cane masters here to inspire me. . . and they hurt.

  • Congratulations, David! What a test of endurance! Btw, I've added a link to this video to your entry on the Juggling World Records Wikipedia page.

  • Thank you. On my website I have a pictures of the Guinness certificate and letters from Guinness and my State Representative.

  • Sometimes I wonder if the world record was worth while. I practiced the 3 ball cascade for about 150 hours just to build up my endurance. Those long repetitive hours were really hard on my muscles and joints.

I love your videos. I humbly bow to your god-like numbers juggling skills!

  • Good job on the video. I also hold world records in juggling but never got acknowlegement from the city council...lol You have one record I would not want to try and break.
