THIS IS THE UNITED STATES ARMY. PUT YOUR HANDS ON YOUR HEAD AND GET OUT OF THIS PLANE. PROCEED TO THE STAIRS, TOWARDS THE VEHICLES, WITH YOUR HANDS ON YOUR HEAD. GET OFF THIS PLANE! GET OFF THIS PLANE! **GET…OFF…THIS…PLANE!**
ive watched every episode youve uploaded now im gonna watch em again. please put up the rest of the series. when this show was running i never saw advertisements for it. i guess thats why the viewership declined with each passing. ive just recently discovered this show when i was watching football and after the game was over on abc this show came on so i decided to watch it and got hooked.
I have some observations about this episode. First, why did Colonel Ryan say that as far as Washington is concerned, this was an operation conducted by the national guard? didn't they lift posse comitatus so that the unit could have authority of the situation? Also, if that was his plan, then I guess Blaine blew it when he shouted "this is the United States Army .... " in front of all the hostages. Also how did Brown know when the team was in position for him to say that arabic phrase?
@omalor When Colonel Ryan said that "as far as Washington is concerned..." he meant those outside the chain of command that the Unit falls under(The President, The S.O.D., and the Five Star). They lifted the posse comitatus for the unit to have the authority to go in and deal with the terrorist. And since as divisions of the Army National Guard fall under the U.S. Army, Blaine probaly felt that was the best way to get the hostages to follow his orders. As far as Brown, the Unit trains for this.
@TheCambo50 I thought that the National Guard and the Army were different divisions, kind of like the Marines, the Navy, the Air Force and the Coast Guard are different.
@omalor No they're Army. The main difference is that they can be used by the state government, they get called up to help out during natural disasters and some other stuff. They have the same training/schedule as a reserve unit. There's even a Special Forces unit of the National Guard where I live. Same selection and Q course as the regular Army.
