Mark said that this song is about him losing his virginity. At the 2:40 mark it sounds like an orgasm. This bridge section of the song is my favorite.
@WolfLennon yeah mate, i discovered them recently too. thank the internet for that, but it's still sad i didn't know about them until recently. it shits on today's music
I was a teen in the 80's and I listened to all the major "alternative" bands- Cure, Siouxsie, Killing Joke, Ministry, etc. etc. but I wasn't exposed to the Chameleons until the mid 90's. God, I wish I had known about them sooner! They are simply incredible.
if you all, and all your friends, go out and buy tis brilliant album them\n this excellent band will get finally what they deserve: WORLD RECOGNITION!!!
Probably one of their best songs. And they´ve got many. Has anyone got a live version of this one? I may try to shoot one when they´ll play in Rotterdam next June...
this is best song of Chameleons UK...... hey ... one afternoon..... i don't know what to say....... in answer.... nothing matters to me !!!!. HEY ONE COLD GREY AFTERNOON !!!!!
chameleons, warsaw, joy division, pixies, certain general, the smiths, loyd cole, bauhaus, opposition, so, rem, simple mind, new order, marc seberg, everything but the girl ...
... the cure, the go betweens, prefab sprout, the beautiful south, the house martins, clan of xymox, sisters of mercy, dead can dance, ann clarck, cocteau twins, killing joke, jad wio, lords of the new church, cowboy junkies ...
Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Gotcha. which do ya prefer?

Nothing matters to me...you own my soul completely. Indisputably the greatest post-punk anthem ever!

Attention all old people "stop name droppin!" You're all trying too hard to seem cool and obscure, but you're giving away all our secrets! Shhh! lol

I love the 2:32 mark where it becomes a totally different rocking song.

So sad the multitude of people who never heard this album and never will.
An unexplainable amalgam of optimism and pessimism, bright jangly guitar and synth with dark brooding vocals.
One of a kind band, and I am amazed their depth of life's scope at such a young age.

Great song. A raw passionate love song from a band who usually perused darker subject material.

This is a great song! Best song off their best LP (and one of the top two or three LPs of the '80s) in my opinion.
