hey guys i am a car dealer and right now i have my 2007 c6 z06 and i just bought a 203 c5 z06 .Both are phenomenal cars but the c6 is clearly much faster once you get rolling.Harder to get traction?Yes, abbsolutely but lots of torque and it keeps pulling like a train through all the gears.2 great cars for the money thats for sure.

I've owned a C6 LS2 and a C5 Z06. The C5 Z06 is a completely different driving experience. Slightly faster and just more fun to drive. A very raw car. Unless you're going with the C6 Z06, I'd take a C5 Z06 over a C6.

i just love it that so many people think a car's specs is so black and white... just b/c we read a car does 12 seconds in motor trend doesnt mean that car, every single time, no matter who the driver, is putting down 12 seconds quarters every single time! Seriously, what is up with this though process? u also have to remember there were 2 versions of each engine. chevy changed the ls3 and ls6....so it would also depend on which year c5 and which year c6.. c6>c5 they dont make a new model to be under the old bud

The LS6 is the fastest engine for a Corvette, EXCEPT that there's the LS7 and LS9 motors now, which are faster.. But the C5 Z06 will beat the C6 LS2 and LS3.. ok? @camirocz stock c5z's have done high 11's through the trap to. ls2 vettes seem to be the slowest and they have hit high 11's stock. stock to stock i've seen c5z's and ls3 vettes to be pretty even. a stock c5 has a higher top speed then a c5z stock. the c5z is the standard for the base c6 and i hope the c6z is the standard for the base c7!

@Z062003 yeah but youre a good driver. I have personally seen amateur C6 Z06's running mid 12's @ 118mph at the lowest trap speed. Which is BAD. Not saying I could do better but comapred to what most people get the stock C6's to run, that is bad. Range still holds the record for the fastest C6 Z06 though I believe.

@isthoed its definately believable. c5 z's have underated hp. its not uncommon to find them bone stock with 380 to the ground. thats more like 430-440 fwhp. so a k&n and dr's with a good 60 foot is all you need to get into the 11's.

I swear on my life it's bone stock + K&N filter. The guy driving the C6 Z isn't that great of a driver. His car is a 10 sec car but he was only running low 12's high 11's. I had a lot better reaction time than he did that's why I had such a big jump on him then he flew past me at the end b/c of the extra 150 horsepower. For the record I ran 11.96 @ 118 w/ 1.8 60ft bone stock + K&N filter and BFG drag radials

Bone stock C5 Z06 w/ K&N filter. C6 Z had intake, headers, x-pipe. 501whp which is about 150 more wheel horsepower than the C5 Z. He trapped about 12 mph more than I did.
