  • The Paul Simon Episode was one of the finest in the Muppet Show's run... this happens to be my favorite moment just a click above Animal's duet with Buddy Rich.

  • DDPCentralVideo Hey, Garfunkel is Awesome! And the two were a team!

  • What's Paul saying from 0:11 to 0:18, and from 0:22 to 0:27?

I want to know what they are laughing about! :-)

  • @RealMusicLover63 don't understand why you can't hear him but here is what he said..

from 0:11 to 0:18 aww Gee pops, that's nice of you to say, but you know we did not plan on doing that song. It's not on the schedule.. and from and from 0:22 to 0:27 he says. well thanks, of course I was never much for schedule's..

  • Man this is a good song

  • @DDPCentralVideo I never heard this. At least in Germany they know who wrote Mrs Robinson and Sound of Silence

  • the blush they put on his face is giving me a boner

  • anybody know what make of guitar and what pick ups?

    please reply, thanks!!!

  • Completely underrated. Who would have thought that today in the year 2011, this song would have some kind of effect on me and by who. Music is great and and this song is LEGENDARY. That is all me and mines is all about.

  • This is my favorite episode of The Muppet Show, hands down. Paul Simon is amazing with them.

  • Ain't got no place to stay / But any old place will be okay / It's been a long, long day

  • I have so much more respect for Simon after seeing this, haha. This is excellent.

  • I think this is one of my all-time favorite clips from The Muppet Show. Not only is the music beautiful, but there's this subtle, quiet sincerity in the puppetry. The show was always written to suggest that the Muppet characters themselves were starving artists, struggling to make it all work out...the way they all lean in a little and each has his or her own subtle reaction to the song, and the way they all just silently nod at the end, it really conveys that this song is one they relate to.

  • Would you mind uploading a Muppet News sketch from the Paul Simon episode.

  • I can never find this song. Its really good, though. Really calm like.

  • found on- Paul Simon's "One Trick Pony"

  • What year is this?

  • 1981

  • Excelente, gracias!! Saludos

  • de nada! :)

  • this version is SO MUCH better than the album version. i desperately want the guitar tab to what he's doing here.

  • I could send you the chords Paul is using for this version, and you could work out the picking pattern yourself. The harmonies(chords) on this version differs from the studio version a little-this one is a little less jazzy than the album take-simpler chord extensions. I like both versions, but this one is pure and beautiful.

  • send me the chords 2!!! pleas

  • @jonahlevin67 you posted over a year ago, but in case you are still around on youtube, please please can you send me the chords? i just discovered that song, it is just sooooo beautiful!!! thnxxx!

  • @jonahlevin67 hi there, could you please send me the chords for this version,it would do me a great help :) thanks a lot..

  • This version is much better than the one on itunes. Does anyone know where I might be able to download this version without the vid?

  • Magical!

  • yes, we have & are still been playing that version of 'long, long time' for our ten month old son emanuel -- ever since he was born. a truly ingenious reminiscence of what used to be our culture

  • yes! this version is superb. I dig the one trick pony but it's so much better with just him, and his guitar,

  • Things in my life are hard right now finding a job and all, paying off debts. This song soothes days like mine.

  • Ok thnx

  • Is this actually a real song ??

I searched for it, but I can't find it anywhere.

Could it be that he made this song for the show?

  • Yeah it's a real song :)

It's called Long, Long Day and it's off his album One Trick Pony

  • hells yes its a real song, what do they teach you kids these days?

I hate to abuse an old cliche, but its been a long, long day

  • thank you.

  • This is a my favorite moment of the Paul Simon episode. No wonder that Pops wanted Paul to sing this...and that all those other Muppets came in to listen.

  • I really like the beginning (before they start singing), Paul is so cute..

  • Thank you! This is Paul Simon at his cutest, and this version is so much better than the 80s schlock on the album.
