I was very confused by a dealer today who said they were going to pay off my trade but, then tack my pay off amount onto my new car. Wouldn't this allow them to have my old car for Free?? robert@theinvisiblehomepage (.)c o M
When dealers say they are paying off your loan or lease they do pay it off but then roll that amount into the new loan or lease so you are in essence paying off two car loans. Often times they will stretch out the payments over six or seven years to lower the monthly payments to make it appear you are getting a good deal. You will not get much from them for the equity you have in your trade, its always better to pay off your old loan first then sell the car privately to get the most money.
I just find it extremely irritating when I deal with a vendor. I feel like telling them to their faces that they are scum and that I don't care about their BS. All I want is get the car at a respectable price and get the hell out.
Scum? Hmmm. A touch harsh. It's just a job. We aren't all bad people you know?? Calm down man! Don't tarr everyone with the same brush. Perhaps you just go to shit dealers.
