None of us could literally take the place that Jesus, the Christ, took...even if we were there before his crucifixion. And just as importantly, he was given the power to take back his body by His ressuretion. He was sent from God to reveal this, and many other things, to us. A good question to ask yourself, especially if you feel that you are a mature Christian, is this...Would you deny God or Jesus the Christ in order to save your own physically life? This is a very hard thing, and takes faith.
I'm glad Jesus took my place! If He didn't, I would have to pay the price for my sins; I would die eternally. So I guess I wouldn't take His place. I know this song came from a place of realization of what He truly has done for us!!!!!

God sent his only begotten son so that he would die for our sins. We are saved by the grace of god as well. I wish more non-believers would just take the time to "listen" to what is written in the Bible rather than assume what they THINK they know. I used to be one of these types (non-believer) and I was saved 05/27/09. Thanks for not giving up on me Christ our Savior!
