Why do you feel bad for them being in a zoo? Surely they belong in the wild, but if their population and habitat is being destroyed by us, why not give them a chance to survive? If we put them in the wild, they will without a doubt be pushed to extinction. Sad reality, but a zoo is better than being dead. Not to mention they are trying to bring back endangered species. I feel bad that these amazing mammals have to live in captivity for our entertainment. I also hate that in their natural habitat they are constantly in danger of being murdered by poachers. We applaud gorillas for their human-like behavior and forget that too many humans are not defined properly by that word and carry on in an in-humane manner. You never hear about a gorilla who helps out the community in his town during the day and at night kidnaps children and rapes and murders them.
