you cant with this patch. its based on life - the conway theory so its midi is determined by which button is lit
I could have used a dif patch - there are tons for the monome that would give me more control over the input into the device so it would be more 'rhythmical' ratehr than chaotic. theres a good patch called monochrome which is nice. do alittle search for it - some nice vids but not with a tr626 - maybe ill have t give that a go - go and visit me pal sveldt and hookup
yeh maxmsp patch running beans version of LIFE - which is sending midi notes to the 626 and it does send beatclock as well. as for the 626 im not entirely sure - but i think its just triggering sounds

So the Monome is providing MIDI from your laptop (MAX/msp?) out to your 626? so the 626 is clock-synched or is the step sequencer being altered?
