I was eyeballing that tool chest at costco for probably a decade, its a great bang for the buck. Then when I finally decided to take the plunge, they no longer stocked it and like everything else, prices all went up. I ended up buying a used triple-stack Matco for a real sweet deal. You have a good setup, uncanny how similarly it is organized to mine.... twin floor jacks too! Real uncanny. Nice job, good organization.
NICE!!! I really can't wait until I get out of my apartment and get a garage so I can expand my collection!! Have you considered foam inserts with the tool shape cutouts for organization and accountability? I think it would be the coup de grâce for your chest!
@Okinawapajero - Thanks! Yes, I've thought about doing the foam insert idea. However, the space is limited and even now the tools are pretty squeezed together. Plus, sometimes if I buy something new, I have to sort of move things around a bit. As much as I like the idea of the foam inserts, I don't want to lock myself into anything just yet.
@lioneldewalt4life6 - Metric means the bolt sizes are in millimeters and standard (or SAE) means the bolt sizes are in inches. So metric would be like 14mm, 15mm, 16mm, etc. while standard would be 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" etc. Most of my tools are metric, but I have some standard stuff in there also.
Porn and cheeseburgers are still made in U.S. n' A. Lol.... really though, I buy tools nowadays from HF (Harbor Freight Tools), Husky, Stanley, and etc. Just about all hand tools have Lifetime Warranty. Plus, just about all tools are made in China, Taiwan, and India. Don't get me wrong, Craftsman, Snap On, and the top brand names still have some of the best innovations for tools but I just can't justify playing less for same qualities.
I have found out that all new craftsman tools are made in china I have used them for over 40 years and had 3 ratchets broke over the years so I took them back 2 re manufactured ones were fixed in the USA however the new one was made in china I looked at a few tools and all the newer one were made in china a few older ones made in usa its a real shame as I seen the ones made in china were not as hard metal and werent as thick.
@ncrdisabled - yeah, it seems like the quality isn't what it was 30 years ago. Some stuff is still okay, but I have had a number of craftsman products break over the last couple of years. That's why I started checking out other brands. Husky (at Home Depot) and Gear Wrench / KD tools seem pretty good for the money. I buy a lot of vintage tools these days at garage sales also. The old stuff is usually better IMHO. And nothing makes my day like getting a great old pair of pliers for a dollar :)
@superbird520 - which drawer? I think I covered all of them on the left (in the top chest). If you mean on the right, I think the 3rd drawer from the top is straight screw drivers. The 2nd down is philips head. Let me know; thanks for the comments! :-)
@kontis77 - What are you referring to specifically? Most of the time I feel like I need more tools :-) I can't tell you how many times I have used some strange little tool I picked up, thinking "I'll probably never use this" and then it turns out to be the only tool in the box that will accomplish the job. One question thought, don't you think if you did the foam drawer idea that I've seen around where you can tell when you are missing a tool? Is hard to keep up with so many tools and prevent a loss.
@nymxcar - Thanks for the comments. The problem I have with the foam cut-out drawer systems is that you are locked into it. With my drawers, I will sometimes rearrange things or slide things around to make room for some new / really great tool I have purchased. Or, in some cases, I will retire a group of tools and buy a better brand or something. So I don't want the drawers written in stone. Even when I pull a lot of tools out, it's pretty easy to get them back in the correct order :-)
@ray5961 I like to take care of my stuff real good! I even have stuff since I was a kid and I am only 20 now heading toward the lucky number 21 lol. I just spend around $200 in tools from HF to fix an Astro I bought. I never owned tools till now. I went to my local army store and got me one of those army tool bag. I love the fabric, so I got this handy tool bag for now until I get my tool chest :D. I am also going to school for Automotive Technology in August. How would you rank the brands?
@nymxcar - I usually don't pay too much attention to brands. Like some people love Snap-on. Snap-on is okay, but it's over priced for the money I feel (also, in a great many cases, Snap-on just buys another makers tool, bumps the price way up & sells it). I have seen so many "Snap-on" tools for less than half from the company that actually makes the tool. For me, it depends on if the tool is well made. Sometimes that means Gearwrench, sometimes craftsman, snap-on, sometimes husky, etc.
@ray5961 True theres a lot of everything. lol I really don't follow about buying the most expensive stuff as getting guarantee is going to be "great" stuff. Sometimes you'll find something cheaper ending up being awesome.
after looking at all these videos...i end back up to this one... still makes me smile to see someone spend that kind of money on tools. (even though under warranty) but still take care of them. great video. and very nice tools man. those will last forever at the rate you're taking care of them.
@bieli0 - Thanks! I don't baby them too much, but I do take care of them (and keep them clean and organized). My view is that a tool is there to do a job and if it breaks in the process, so be it. I'm actually starting to get into making tools now. I recently bought a jeweler's lathe (and may be buying a larger 10" one also). Should have some videos about those soon.
@dieselplus2 - I updated the description for the video and included all the information about the tool box for you (and future viewers who may be interested in it). Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any further questions.
@08suzuki08 - Thanks a lot. It hasn't been getting much use lately, due to the rain out here. Last big job was the 30K service on my truck. Glad that job is over with. I never knew a 4x4 had so much gear oil and ATF that needed changing! :-)
@08suzuki08 - hard to say. It's about 30 years worth of buying tools here and there. The chest itself was $750. The tools inside probably add up to around $4K or something. I've never sat down and added it up. Some of those end wrench kits (the flex ones) tend to be a bit pricey.
I have a similar box to that but it's called a Hammerhead and I think it was bought at Costco or a store like it. Mine has a little different layout as well but overall I love my box it has heavy duty ball bearing slides, heavy drawers, heavy box really clean construction.Stainless steel etc.
@DenDX - I bought it from Costco. It's made by a company in China called CSPS. Very nice quality for the money. There might be a little more information in some of the previous comments below. CSPS has a website, but I don't think they sell directly. I've heard you can find them at Sams club I think also. I haven't seen them at Costco lately - at least not in stainless. Sometimes they have a black one, but it's not as nice in my opinion.
hey wht's the name of the storage drawer. Is it CSPS..I've been looking at all supplier here in Malaysia but i cud not even found one..cud u help me out please
@r3dzuan if you are talking about the stainless steel tool chest, yes, it's CSPS. If you are talking about the plastic drawer trays (which organize the tools), the large ones came from ebay (don't know the name). The smaller ones (for the screw drivers, etc.) came from mcmaster.com (just search for drawer organizers and you should see it).
@ThePetrolhead123 - thank you. Mainly just stuff around the house these days. Also service on my truck and motorcycle. Prior to selling the Ferrari, I did all the service on it. Oh and service on sister's car, ex-girlfriends, etc. You know how it goes right? :-)
i envy you... one day my friend... i'll have a tool chest like that... it's like opening a treasure chest everytime!!! :D by the way, i was unaware they make 1/4'' breaker bars... looked cool
@bieli0 - Thanks for the comments. Not sure what you are referring to as far as the 1/4" breaker bar? I have a 1/2 inch breaker bar in there, but that's about it. Let me know what specifically you are looking at (and @ what time in the video) and maybe I can clear up what tool it is.
@ray5961 between 1:04 and 1:06 above the rubber grip 1/4'' red ratchet... it looks like a breaker bar, but mini... i'm sure it's just a regular ratchet? just doesn't spin... isn't that what it would be?
@bieli0 - oh okay... yeah, I see what you are talking about. I'm not sure if those are technically considered breaker bars or not (since they are only 1/4"), but they are very similar to a breaker bar for sure. If you look in the 1/2 drawer, there is a very long 1/2" breaker bar in there. The ones you are talking about are sort of more like a non ratcheting handle kind of. I'm not really sure what they are called specifically, but next time I'm at Sears I will see if I can find the exact name.
@egpg2000 - This is very true. Wrenching / fabrication, etc. is a hobby, not my job. I make my living from investments and computer programming. As much as I love working on cars, bikes, etc. I sure wouldn't want to have to do that every day as a living, nor would I probably be able to keep my tool box as clean/organized :-)
Ohh man I like the way you keep everything nice and tidy . I've got a Snap-on chest tool but I will like to buy something bigger because I'm a "fanatic" of tools . I can see you've got many Snap-on tools . I 've got some Snap-on stuff but is not easy to buy then here in Spain . I've got Spanish (Palmera-Irimo-Acesa-Virutex) French (Facom) German (Felo-Belzer-Bosh-Hazet) Japan (Lobster-Mitutoyo) . Anyway I just want you to tell you how much I like your tools and Grettins from Spain . BB
@carboumentliagaizka - Thank you very much! What is funny, because I just made this video as a joke for a friend of mine, is that this is actually one of my most viewed and commented on videos on my youtube page :-) I'm always careful to clean up every single tool after doing a job and put a lot of time into selecting tools before adding them to the tool box. I want to swap out some of the sockets to a different brand, but for now the collection of tools is about where I want it :-)
@zachschevelle - without the handles on the side, it measures 41" across the main width. I think the model number might be posted on one of the very early comments, but I'm not sure. I don't believe Costco carries this model any longer.
@ray5961 Don't worry, I'm a freak when it comes to keeping my tools spotless too =) I only buy tools with good anti-corrosion finishes and never get my tools wet, ever. I can;t stand rust spots. Nice collection by the way!
@eBiology - Thanks for the comments. Yes, the finish is very important to me as well. Some of my older craftsman stuff have rust spots where the finish has chipped off. That's one reason I like the impact sockets (even for day to day use); they are heavy duty and the finish is very good on most of them.
@ray5961 Yea I had Craftsman screwdrivers that developed rust spots on them back when I didn't care about my tools too much. Irwin locking pliers are extremely prone to rust too, you gotta watch out with those =)
@zachschevelle - I don't see the model # in the comments (as I thought). I can look it up for you. I have some photos of the original labels some place on my other computer.
@PaFirePhoto Are you referring to the entire setup (with tools) or just the empty tool box itself? The stainless steel tool box (top and bottom) with no tools was $749 plus tax. As far as the tools inside of it... man, I don't even wanna think about it :-) Just the bottom drawer worth of stuff is probably pushing $1000 alone :-) All total, tools and box, I would guess nearly $3000 worth of stuff if you had to rebuy everything.
@ray5961 haha yea i was referring to the whole setup. and if i do say so myself that is a very very very impressive setup. and i wish i could get something like that.
@PaFirePhoto Thanks for the nice comment. I still have one drawer that I need to organize, but overall I'm very happy with it. It's definitely nice as far as working on the motorcycles, cars, house, etc. It's pretty rare these days that I have to stop and buy a tool. It's nice to just be able to reach for what you need and have it in its place, etc. (we tore apart my friend's 360 the other day to track down a rattle & install a new exhaust. Now he's motivated to start buying more tools :-)
@MrSidchrome - it was on sale for $749 at Costco (about two years ago). The The brand is CSPS. It's made in China I think, but it's really nice quality. I spent an extra $100 or so on special stainless nuts & allen head bolts to put it together however. The website for the company is cspsmetal, com. However, I think they only sell through Costco (not sure). It's one of the nicest tool chests I've ever seen - especially for the money.
@MrSidchrome - they are used quite a bit actually. Maybe not as much as a shop would use them, but when I work on the car or the bike, you'd be surprised how much of those draws end up on the ground. I clean and put back each one individually in its little spot too. In the video they look more clean than in real life also, but I do clean any dirt off with carb cleaner and/or this degreaser stuff I found at the store.
@retirediron - :-) I wish that were the case! They just are clean and look good on camera. However, in person you can see some of them are a bit worse for wear. My 30 year old Craftsman sockets have some pitting on them and some of the stuff is dirty, but every so often I go through and clean everything with carb cleaner or soap and water to get the grim off. The SS tool box makes everything look a little better than it actually is I think haha :-)
snap on prices very low for quality. 10 dollars for a socket or less.craftsman one socket 8 to 9 dollars..same price..i cant work with craftsman tools,,i dont feel safe..if you are working on cars allday..forget that..you must have snap on -mac tools..i wont buy any craftsman tools..snap on lasts forever...i never broke any mac tool or snap on...
I go with craftsman. great quality, lifetime warranty, and not too overpriced. Im no everyday mechanic, just take care of my own stuff. so there a great deal for me.
@4wheelermaniac500 - craftsman is okay. I think the quality has declined a bit over the last 30 years however. A lot depends on the individual tool you are buying. In some cases, craftsman is good. In other cases, gearwrench. In other cases, snap-on. I try not to lock myself into any specific brand; instead just each tool based on its own merits.
I looked at your youtube page, and i saw you do investments, wich is awesome, but, when your a mechanic for a living, you'd understand why people choose snap on, blue point, mac and matco, ONLY lol.
@bxtask88 Like I say, I have snap on also. My friend, who owns the local Ferrari repair shop, swears by snap-on. I'm not suggesting they are not good quality - they definitely are. However, they are a bit over priced in many cases. I have a couple of snap-on ratchets; about the same quality as Gearwrench. Check out Neiko sockets. I have a 3/4" set and they are super high quality, yet about 1/10th the price of snap-on. Snap-on is very good for sure - but you pay $ :-)
@bxtask88 Yes, there are some snap-on tools in there (and also bluepoint). However, I don't have much snap-on. It's largely over priced for the quality, in my opinion. Also, many snap-on tools are just relabeled from other brands. I've found the exact same snap-on tools under the OEM manufacturer for less than half the money. You pay a lot for the snap-on name, but you really don't get that much more than many other brands available out there.
yeah man, I totally agree with you. I always clean and polish my tools after use, especially that it's a hobby for me and not my livelihood. It's such a nice feeling when you start a job and all tools are pristine sitting in their little foam cutouts and just waiting to be put to good use :)
As long as the tool is good quality, the name doesn't matter to me. The end wrenches in the top drawer are Craftsman (left side); the flex ones are GearWrench. I like Gear Wrench a lot (my digital torque wrenches & some ratchets are GearWrench). A little Snap-on also. Also Metrinch (good quality). The 3/4 sockets are Neiko - amazing quality for the $. Some Husky (Home Depot) & Great Neck (Autozone) stuff in there too. Smaller sockets & bits are a mix of Husky, Craftsman & Metrinch, etc.
thats a nice tool box u got there dude!!! gota take care of ur tools do the same with my ools at work ...still got to build up my tool collection at work lol
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, if I put away tools dirty when I was a kid, my Dad would freak out and I would get a lecture. I remember once when I was 17 or so, I think I put away a wrench with some grease on it. He came into my room holding the wrench and said "what's this? Is this how you treat my tools?". Oh man. I felt about 2 inches tall. Ever since then, I make sure the tools went back spotless.
well done sir. amazing collection. its a great feeling to have some tools handed down to you together with new tools you will someday hand down to someone. i agree it so important to clean the tools. mine look unused too. they last longer that way. im impressed, 5*
i have a box similar i got at sam's club 56" i paid $1200 i keep mine just as neat im a certified R.V. tech where did you buy all your black organizers i have a bunch of small boxes i cut up and use but like the way yours look with those.
@feverofhell2 - there's actually a Glock 27 sitting on the top shelf of the tool box :-) I toss it in my back pocket when I go out at night to bring fire wood into the house, since we have mountain lions, etc. around these parts; one just recently killed my next door neighbor's goat in his front yard. But the sharp objects could be handy too :-) Thanks for commenting/rating.
I have some snap on stuff in there. Frankly, I'm not real impressed with snap on tools for the money they charge. They break it off in you as far as price. A lot of times you can find the exact same tool for less than half the money from another maker. Sanp on sells a lot of other manufacturer's tools under their name and just jacks up the price. You pay a lot for the name.
I know what you mean when you say people think you don't use your tools because they are clean. I have many thousands of dollars worth of Snap-on tools and I pamper them like fine China. People assume they don't get used because they are like new. I have had some of them for 25+ yrs. and used them as a proffesional technician. Nice box.
man, i wish i can have a tool chest like that one!!

I love the fabric, so I got this handy tool bag for now until I get my tool chest :D. I am also going to school for Automotive Technology in August. How would you rank the brands?
nymxcar 9 months ago
@nymxcar - I usually don't pay too much attention to brands. Like some people love Snap-on. Snap-on is okay, but it's over priced for the money I feel (also, in a great many cases, Snap-on just buys another makers tool, bumps the price way up & sells it). I have seen so many "Snap-on" tools for less than half from the company that actually makes the tool. For me, it depends on if the tool is well made. Sometimes that means Gearwrench, sometimes craftsman, snap-on, sometimes husky, etc.
ray5961 9 months ago
@ray5961 True theres a lot of everything. lol I really don't follow about buying the most expensive stuff as getting guarantee is going to be "great" stuff. Sometimes you'll find something cheaper ending up being awesome.

after looking at all these videos...i end back up to this one... still makes me smile to see someone spend that kind of money on tools. (even though under warranty) but still take care of them. great video. and very nice tools man. those will last forever at the rate you're taking care of them.
bieli0 10 months ago
@bieli0 - Thanks! I don't baby them too much, but I do take care of them (and keep them clean and organized). My view is that a tool is there to do a job and if it breaks in the process, so be it. I'm actually starting to get into making tools now. I recently bought a jeweler's lathe (and may be buying a larger 10" one also). Should have some videos about those soon.

08suzuki08 1 year ago
@08suzuki08 - Thanks a lot. It hasn't been getting much use lately, due to the rain out here. Last big job was the 30K service on my truck. Glad that job is over with. I never knew a 4x4 had so much gear oil and ATF that needed changing! :-)
ray5961 1 year ago
how much did this cost?
08suzuki08 1 year ago
@08suzuki08 - hard to say. It's about 30 years worth of buying tools here and there. The chest itself was $750. The tools inside probably add up to around $4K or something. I've never sat down and added it up. Some of those end wrench kits (the flex ones) tend to be a bit pricey.
ray5961 1 year ago
I have a similar box to that but it's called a Hammerhead and I think it was bought at Costco or a store like it. Mine has a little different layout as well but overall I love my box it has heavy duty ball bearing slides, heavy drawers, heavy box really clean construction.Stainless steel etc.
702dirtrider 1 year ago
What kind of toolbox is that?
DenDX 1 year ago
@DenDX - I bought it from Costco. It's made by a company in China called CSPS. Very nice quality for the money. There might be a little more information in some of the previous comments below. CSPS has a website, but I don't think they sell directly. I've heard you can find them at Sams club I think also. I haven't seen them at Costco lately - at least not in stainless. Sometimes they have a black one, but it's not as nice in my opinion.

r3dzuan 1 year ago
@r3dzuan if you are talking about the stainless steel tool chest, yes, it's CSPS. If you are talking about the plastic drawer trays (which organize the tools), the large ones came from ebay (don't know the name). The smaller ones (for the screw drivers, etc.) came from mcmaster.com (just search for drawer organizers and you should see it).

i envy you... one day my friend... i'll have a tool chest like that... it's like opening a treasure chest everytime!!! :D by the way, i was unaware they make 1/4'' breaker bars... looked cool
bieli0 1 year ago
@bieli0 - Thanks for the comments. Not sure what you are referring to as far as the 1/4" breaker bar? I have a 1/2 inch breaker bar in there, but that's about it. Let me know what specifically you are looking at (and @ what time in the video) and maybe I can clear up what tool it is.
ray5961 1 year ago
@ray5961 between 1:04 and 1:06 above the rubber grip 1/4'' red ratchet... it looks like a breaker bar, but mini... i'm sure it's just a regular ratchet? just doesn't spin... isn't that what it would be?
bieli0 1 year ago
@bieli0 - oh okay... yeah, I see what you are talking about. I'm not sure if those are technically considered breaker bars or not (since they are only 1/4"), but they are very similar to a breaker bar for sure. If you look in the 1/2 drawer, there is a very long 1/2" breaker bar in there. The ones you are talking about are sort of more like a non ratcheting handle kind of. I'm not really sure what they are called specifically, but next time I'm at Sears I will see if I can find the exact name.
ray5961 1 year ago
@egpg2000 - This is very true. Wrenching / fabrication, etc. is a hobby, not my job. I make my living from investments and computer programming. As much as I love working on cars, bikes, etc. I sure wouldn't want to have to do that every day as a living, nor would I probably be able to keep my tool box as clean/organized :-)

BB
carboumentliagaizka 1 year ago
@carboumentliagaizka - Thank you very much! What is funny, because I just made this video as a joke for a friend of mine, is that this is actually one of my most viewed and commented on videos on my youtube page :-) I'm always careful to clean up every single tool after doing a job and put a lot of time into selecting tools before adding them to the tool box. I want to swap out some of the sockets to a different brand, but for now the collection of tools is about where I want it :-)
ray5961 1 year ago
Is this the 45" or 56" CSPS box?
zachschevelle 1 year ago
@zachschevelle - without the handles on the side, it measures 41" across the main width. I think the model number might be posted on one of the very early comments, but I'm not sure. I don't believe Costco carries this model any longer.
ray5961 1 year ago
@ray5961 Don't worry, I'm a freak when it comes to keeping my tools spotless too =) I only buy tools with good anti-corrosion finishes and never get my tools wet, ever. I can;t stand rust spots. Nice collection by the way!
eBiology 1 year ago
@eBiology - Thanks for the comments. Yes, the finish is very important to me as well. Some of my older craftsman stuff have rust spots where the finish has chipped off. That's one reason I like the impact sockets (even for day to day use); they are heavy duty and the finish is very good on most of them.
ray5961 1 year ago
@ray5961 Yea I had Craftsman screwdrivers that developed rust spots on them back when I didn't care about my tools too much. Irwin locking pliers are extremely prone to rust too, you gotta watch out with those =)
eBiology 1 year ago
@zachschevelle - I don't see the model # in the comments (as I thought). I can look it up for you. I have some photos of the original labels some place on my other computer.

ray5961 1 year ago
That had to of cost atleast $2000.
PaFirePhoto 1 year ago
@PaFirePhoto Are you referring to the entire setup (with tools) or just the empty tool box itself? The stainless steel tool box (top and bottom) with no tools was $749 plus tax. As far as the tools inside of it... man, I don't even wanna think about it :-) Just the bottom drawer worth of stuff is probably pushing $1000 alone :-) All total, tools and box, I would guess nearly $3000 worth of stuff if you had to rebuy everything.
ray5961 1 year ago
@ray5961 haha yea i was referring to the whole setup. and if i do say so myself that is a very very very impressive setup. and i wish i could get something like that.
PaFirePhoto 1 year ago
@PaFirePhoto Thanks for the nice comment. I still have one drawer that I need to organize, but overall I'm very happy with it. It's definitely nice as far as working on the motorcycles, cars, house, etc. It's pretty rare these days that I have to stop and buy a tool. It's nice to just be able to reach for what you need and have it in its place, etc. (we tore apart my friend's 360 the other day to track down a rattle & install a new exhaust. Now he's motivated to start buying more tools :-)

how much did this tool box cost u? and where can i get one? whats the brand???
MrSidchrome 1 year ago
@MrSidchrome - it was on sale for $749 at Costco (about two years ago). The The brand is CSPS. It's made in China I think, but it's really nice quality. I spent an extra $100 or so on special stainless nuts & allen head bolts to put it together however. The website for the company is cspsmetal, com. However, I think they only sell through Costco (not sure). It's one of the nicest tool chests I've ever seen - especially for the money.
ray5961 1 year ago
those tools look like they have never been used!!!
MrSidchrome 1 year ago
@MrSidchrome - they are used quite a bit actually. Maybe not as much as a shop would use them, but when I work on the car or the bike, you'd be surprised how much of those draws end up on the ground. I clean and put back each one individually in its little spot too. In the video they look more clean than in real life also, but I do clean any dirt off with carb cleaner and/or this degreaser stuff I found at the store.
ray5961 1 year ago
Those tools are mint!
retirediron 1 year ago
@retirediron - :-) I wish that were the case! They just are clean and look good on camera. However, in person you can see some of them are a bit worse for wear. My 30 year old Craftsman sockets have some pitting on them and some of the stuff is dirty, but every so often I go through and clean everything with carb cleaner or soap and water to get the grim off. The SS tool box makes everything look a little better than it actually is I think haha :-)
ray5961 1 year ago
snap on prices very low for quality. 10 dollars for a socket or less.craftsman one socket 8 to 9 dollars..same price..i cant work with craftsman tools,,i dont feel safe..if you are working on cars allday..forget that..you must have snap on -mac tools..i wont buy any craftsman tools..snap on lasts forever...i never broke any mac tool or snap on...
ibnekurdo 1 year ago
@ibnekurdo 10 dollars for a snap on socket? yeah maybe a 4.5 mm socket, you have no idea what your talking about buddy
gregfuckingparker 1 year ago
I go with craftsman. great quality, lifetime warranty, and not too overpriced. Im no everyday mechanic, just take care of my own stuff. so there a great deal for me.
4wheelermaniac500 1 year ago
@4wheelermaniac500 - craftsman is okay. I think the quality has declined a bit over the last 30 years however. A lot depends on the individual tool you are buying. In some cases, craftsman is good. In other cases, gearwrench. In other cases, snap-on. I try not to lock myself into any specific brand; instead just each tool based on its own merits.
ray5961 1 year ago
when you do it all day, everyday, you'll only work with the best
bxtask88 1 year ago
I looked at your youtube page, and i saw you do investments, wich is awesome, but, when your a mechanic for a living, you'd understand why people choose snap on, blue point, mac and matco, ONLY lol.
bxtask88 1 year ago
@bxtask88 Like I say, I have snap on also. My friend, who owns the local Ferrari repair shop, swears by snap-on. I'm not suggesting they are not good quality - they definitely are. However, they are a bit over priced in many cases. I have a couple of snap-on ratchets; about the same quality as Gearwrench. Check out Neiko sockets. I have a 3/4" set and they are super high quality, yet about 1/10th the price of snap-on. Snap-on is very good for sure - but you pay $ :-)
ray5961 1 year ago
no snap on man??
bxtask88 1 year ago
@bxtask88 Yes, there are some snap-on tools in there (and also bluepoint). However, I don't have much snap-on. It's largely over priced for the quality, in my opinion. Also, many snap-on tools are just relabeled from other brands. I've found the exact same snap-on tools under the OEM manufacturer for less than half the money. You pay a lot for the snap-on name, but you really don't get that much more than many other brands available out there.

ray5961 1 year ago
yeah man, I totally agree with you. I always clean and polish my tools after use, especially that it's a hobby for me and not my livelihood. It's such a nice feeling when you start a job and all tools are pristine sitting in their little foam cutouts and just waiting to be put to good use :)
Lestat103 2 years ago
very nice setup
mattgeezy84 2 years ago
