@MrAnderson900 if you are still using XP you dont deserve new games. Because of people like you game developers on PC have to do more work in order for the games to work on older OS. But atleast futuremark made the smart choice to dump XP and use directx 10 and 11.

I think its to simulate the gun fire sound due to the fact that you don't suppose to hear gun fire in space... but you still hear it in the game... so I believe the simuated audio files are for the gun fire sounds.

look at the game reviews. It is an awesome multiplayer game, but how many rounds can you stand. Everyone who has played this game aren't gripping about the detail level or requirements, it's all about repetition. You can only play 1 level of a game so many times before it's so old, and it's trashcan time. The game needs more maps period. We got Moonrise now, yay 1 more. Time for a game editor to be released so we can have fan-based maps (main reason Unreal was ontop for many many years).
@Raistln1971 i totally agree. i still play unreal tournament for days because if i get bored of the map i just download a new one. If this game gets user generated content, it could get game of the year with a bit of luck. This is very original.
Futuremark wanted to not even fuss or stress about putting AI and making a compelling single player campaign... FOR LAUNCH. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been ruled out, and Futuremark has stated they will release updates periodically which will add more to the game (See: Moonrise update). What I don't understand is that if there was multiplayer, wouldn't the majority say that the SP sucked, and the MP is good but they should've worked more on it more (splitting workload)?

@ExtraTerrestrials That definitely doesn't run crysis maxed out very well. My friend has the same card, and he doesn't run crysis on the highest settings. I've got a XFX XXX Edition HD 5870 and I run it on the highest settings with 8x AA no problem. Same goes for Shattered Horizon.

@ExtraTerrestrials Your rig isn't good enough for this game on the highest settings. and my friend has a q6600. He doesn't run a very high resolution either. And the game's post processing effects are as good if not better than those of crysis. The reason is doesn't look like crysis is because there are no trees or dense jungles.
Gunpowder has its own oxidizer, the firing process is completely self-contained. They fired a M1 Garand underwater on Mythbusters. The only problem was ejecting the spent cartridge, but that was because of the pressure of the water which isn't a problem in space.
Bullets work BETTER in zero gravity. Zero means none, not upwards, therefore as long as something is propelled in one direction it will never stop. Even a subsonic weapon could shoot a billion lightyears away as long as it doesn't hit something or get caught in something's orbit.
@HeyChummers thats not 100% correct. A bullet might travel for a incredibly long time but even the vacuum of space is not absolutely empty. Usually there are < 10 to the power of 4 particles per m² which means, it will travel very long but sooner or later it will be stopped due to those particles.
Hey people. This game really is the best thing I have played in a long time. However people are saying that it takes some getting used to. So with that in mind, if you check my video response It will give you some hints and tips on being more successful. Look for the video response by techwg. Sure you need time to get used to the game, but keep going with it because the end result is amazing game play which really satisfies your ownage needs. Buy the game, play the game, enjoy yourself.

If you play the game they explain that the suits have sound simulation sensors to keep the people in the suits situationally aware. You can "move silently" which then turns off the sensors and all you hear is your heartbeat and breath.

They don't. A conventional bullet has oxidizer inside the shell, it does not require atmospheric oxygen in order to fire.

That's why computer's voice they "reloading audio simulation files". Watch it again and you will see at the begening theire are no sound from the outside. ;)

If you play the game they explain that the suits have sound simulation sensors to keep the people in the suits situationally aware. You can "move silently" which then turns off the sensors and all you hear is your heartbeat and breath.

Reminds me of the part in the first book where the bully behind him punches Ender in the back of the head, Ender times the punch, then proceeds to break the kids arm by pulling down on it, which thrusts him into the ceiling due to anti-gravity.

You do realize 360 games were originally made on a PC. Also, what are you trying to prove, that PC games are hand-me-downs? Like Wolfenstein? Doom? Starcraft? Red Orchestra? The entire Half-Life Series? Counter Strike? The Battlefield series? The Fallout series? The Elder Scrolls? World of Warcraft? (Just to name a few)
So apparently these games are not good because they were not released on the 360 first? What strange logic. Oh well, that's what happens when you give someone a controller.

First off, you can't even write English properly which proves you're a retard. Second, yes, most shooters are rip-offs of Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. This one is a rip-off of Descent because Descent's big thing was that it was a shooter taking place in zero-gravity. This game is nothing new, kiddie.

Like I said, those games pioneered the first person shooter genre, but they didn't come fully packed with the features that have arisen lately in the genre. The prototype model T automobile may be the ancestor of today's cars, but it doesn't legitimize the argument that all cars are rip-offs of the model T.
