Well, audio mod means the driver runs at the resonant frequency, which is modulated with an audio signal.
PLL is the type of driver i use. It stands for phased lock loop. Basically, you have a free running oscillator (comparable to the 555) that is controlled my a timing capacitor and resistors and a potentiometer. This triggers the oscillations, and then it gets feedback. It finds the resonant frequency and 'locks' onto it, keeping the running freq correct all the time. Very stable when right.
Does having such a large air space between primary and secondary in a SSTC effect performance? Really nice audio modulation. Keep up the awsome design id love to see that compact in a desktop coil for demo's.
While better coupling means more energy transfer Ive also found that it also causes more problems with insulation and that an air gap is always better than a thin poly sheet . I will probably stop winding directly on my secondary in the future especially if I change to a DRSSTC
can you tell me the name of this song ?

very nice coil :)
and good song choice haha

i got mine done too,
so i hooked it of the 50v,
and put it on 240 rectified.
biggest sparks i ever had on a sstc 0.o!
until i broke some caps :(
that where not rated for 240 rectified.
:'(
so im getting some new one's.
i love how you made your :P
your sstc ^^

how can you change the frequantie?

it effects the coupling right?

yes it does.

dute, all driver electronics have to be close as possible, small size, then you will get better working properties ....
also put all electronics to metal box...
