Hey =). Im going in for Air transportation in the reserve of New York City. And already did the meps just this Wednesday and passed. But its no opening till Ocober!!! so I was thinkiing of maybe another career in the AF just to ship out earlier. Just wanted to ask you since you probably are currently doing air Transportation, how is it, do you regret it, love it? Should I stick with that career or think about another career? Thanks
Hey, that's so exciting! I am actually looking into going into the air force...how are you going to be able to go to school and be in the Air Force at the same time? I am going to a recruiter next week to get some more information. Seeing your video has inspired me even more. :)
Im sorry to tell you, but it looks like you messed up. Hopefully you signed for 4 years. With you going for your masters i would assume your close if not already have a bachelor's degree. Should have went officer, and should have waited for a spot as a load master. As a aerial porter (Air trans) enlisted member were shit on by load masters daily. But good luck, and hopefully you get a awesome unit. I wouldn't put in for Travis AFB.
AHAH air trans is not all that bad guys, if you can try and get CRW best gig in the world TDY and Deploy to good ass loacations, Romania, Spain, Italy, and many more great locations, just a little tip to be air trans and be in the CRW,
if i was you i would have went to the officer side because of u having a BA degree and it makes better money and a few more job choices even includes band officer
Hey sorry it took me so long to reply back but yeah im wanting to join really bad actually and i already took the asvab and meps but at meps i found out i have slight hearing loss so its hard to get a medical waiver right now when everyone wants to join. im hopeing once the ecomey picks up i can but i could be to old then. if i woulda joined right out of high school they would of took me in a heart beat no matter what.but yeah sorry for venting and thanks for your videos its hope for me
@Shorty6487 Man.... I just got waived in and im about half blind.... Total eyesight refractive error, 8.25 which is .25 over the refractive limit. I got DQ'ed from meps a while back. You should be good as long as there are no other health issues. I went to a consultion along with a group of people that had a slew of other medical issues that needed addressing. Mines was just the eyesight. You should be good. I hope this helps with your confidence. I know exactly what your going through.
Man you got the job that i wanted, i can tell you right those Air Transportation guys/ladies work hard as hell, when i was in the desert they were busy as no other! Good luck when are you suppose to leave??
Don't take that much, just your essentials, and favorite hygiene products, all that other stuff you will either be issued it or afforded the opportunity to purchase it. Congrats congrats AirForce Diva :-)
NotoriousNoe here on the YT is Airforce, check her out
@PixieDollable: i want to do both. get my assocates an get my BA while im in an switch over officer. an active. but i just want to know the feeling of enlisted before being an officer you know.
If you have so much schooling done why not comission? People would kill to have your level of education. Take advantage of it. Good luck actually getting your job too.
I swore in July 2010, and signed for my job in December of 2010, I leave for BMT May 2nd so we could be in the same flight. I'm going to be in Security Forces which is like military police, but I just wanted to say Good Luck!
I'm just joshing you. I'm in the process of trying to get my waivers right now. So the wait sucks. But have fun, and remember, it's only 8 and a 1/2 weeks.
Good luck. If you haven't already...start working on PT. Also, get used to reporting statements "Sir/Ma'am, Trainee (your last name) reports as ordered." You will be saying it the entire 8.5 weeks you are at Lackland.
@popacap21 i did not go through it but my friends brother is an instructor and 2 of my friends (loadmasters) told me about it , im tough, but ah....some of that is ...an experience can't tell you much due to sec. but i'm sure you can figure out what SURVIVAL skills training if you get capture is like , use ur imagination.
@popacap21 Congrats to you as well! It sure does feel great! I think that Aircraft Loadmaster is in the same catagory as Air Transportation. I'm the one who loads and verifies the stuff going on the aircraft, and you fly with it, right???
Yeap, Thats sounds about right.. Loadmasters On and off load the Cargo, deploy it in flight if the mission calls for it, compute weight and balance.. all that kinda stuff.. I always wanted to be a pilot.. and I dont have the money to finish up my degree now.. So this is the next best thing lol I will still be flying
Congrats on your enlistment, you should consider going active one day. I am Air Guard and I am totally switching over to active duty :) I head off to bootcamp in a few weeks.
I swore in on March 1st too! It was definitely an awesome experience :) My journey wasn't nearly as long as yours however. Good luck when you get to basic! I'll be coming in as you're leaving :)
