amazing. i think that geddy needs to lower his voice a bit. just like he did with temples of syrinx, he doesnt scream anymore. I think if he did that with all the other songs, he would sound perfect
Love, love, love Rush, but I will never like hearing this song in this key. It just sounds weird. I appreciate that they want to make fans happy. Please retire the song, Rush. You have more than paid your dues.
Fantastic post, can't say enough about this, totally professional video with some awesome together shots that I would have paid a fortune for in the 70's on a poster, especially Alex and Geddy towards the end. We saw Rush in Birmingham and London this year, you brought it all back tonight, thanks so much!
I went to this concert with my dad. It was my first time seeing Rush!!! It was amazing when they had all the explosions. I was praying that they would play A PASSAGE TO BANGKOK. The intro was funny as hell. They're the best band i have ever heard. And that drum solo was unbelievable. GO RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
@Cencored100 no shit! i was there with my dad and grandpa and it was also my first time seeing them, i was expecting them to play passage to bangkok also that song wouldve kicked ass! but they made up for it by playing far cry i didnt know they would and thats one of my fav songs
I remember seeing R30 in the front row nearly at the Hollywood Bowl 7 years ago. I thought they'd quit touring and it would be my last time ever seeing them. NOPE! I have seen them 3 more times, but never seats as good as those (or yours here). It's just so incredibly fucking awesome to see these guys still going out and touring with such passion and gusto. I have no doubt they still feel like they're in the 20's when they are on stage. Great video.
Rush Rules!!! Their professionalism and "no drama" attitude about touring and relationships with each other have contributed to their honed and amazing skills. Their level of "in sync-ness" is hypnotizing to watch!! They are one of the best bands that ever was!! Oh... and the visual effects on the Time Machine tour...Wow! The fun videos, lighting, back screen visuals, and the mechanical spider light contraption that comes down from the ceiling and spins....incredible. Absolutely AMAZING show!
Saw them last night in PHOENIX. Wow-is an understatement. The show lasted 31/2 hours with an intermission. No new group can come close to the combined talent of RUSH
All 3 members are unbelievable... Alex is so fucking good, often over looked, and Neil is well... Neil Peart, the best drummer of all time! Geddy's bass playing is unmatched and he sounds terrific for a 57 year old who's been singing for 40 years! Especially on 2112, he sounds awesome. I'm going to see them June 30th in Vancouver, I'm gonna go crazy! BEST BAND OF ALL TIME
@InTheSnakepit Oh my god, that was fucking insane, they are incredible, Lifeson is a guitar god! I'm in shock, would give anything in the world to see it again
Saw this in New Orleans on 6-10. The best concert I've seen, and I've seen a lot. Saw these guys in 1983 for the first time. Like fine wine, some things are better with age, and RUSH is a prime example. Thanks Geddy, Alex and Professor Peart for shuch an awesome show. Got my moneys worth plus some. If I could have, I'd have gone to Austin to see the exact same show 2 nights later.
@shaindaman13 That is really good to hear! I knew they would be, but to hear from someone who just saw them last night makes me even more excited ....I wish it was Friday because im ready to go! haha
This is just totally AWESOME!!!! Thanxs so much for getting this and posting it!!! I was at the O2 in London and enjoyed the concert...but from afar:( What a concert!!!
@Elregar71 It's called being on the road and doing tons of 3 hour shows. I applaud his efforts nonetheless. He does a hell of a job, and they still rock.
I hate to say it but Geddy sounds awfully nasally. Seing them in LA Ca. in June cant wait. Saw them by chance in 76 on the 2112 tour when I was 9 years old. My older brothers friend went to jail that day so I got lucky.Havent seen them since. A true Time Machine for me as well.
@kingkeith666 I was concerned about his voice after seeing some clips on here. There's no doubt he is struggling to sing some of the stuff but who wouldn't struggle with some of those vocals? Having said that I actually thought he sounded excellent live. Seen them twice now and they were better this time. Not that they were bad the first time but this time they were on top form. Enjoy it. You will not be disappointed.
amazing band just see them at Glasgow last night ,my camera phone pics not as good as we could only see the big screen , but was one superb show............
RUSH JOY! Thanks so much for sharing this, I'm grinning ear to ear and hoping to see them in June... Nice camera work by the way...only a little sound distortion, but surely only because they rocked your asses so hard. :D
nice job saw them in sunrise on the first night and have front row tix for the nola show in june...check out my stuff .enjoy i use an old beatup cybershot.
@joancrawford2112 Not Boring? come on! (Caress of Steel says otherwise. hahahahahaha) King Crimson are overwhelmingly more amazing. Of course Robert Fripp bans all photography, recording, jumping to the music, singing along, etc. from his shows, but still. It is a performance that deserves respect and is not for everyone. Rush is great too, but it deserved an audience with more dignity.
I love Neil's new kit. Best one i've seen in a long time. My fave is his kits from the late 70's early 80's. The Tama set with the Star Man on the Bass drum. I don't like the tom-tom sound on this kit. Too boomy sounding. I like the tight sounding heads that "pop".
Awesome video! I had third row in front of Geddy this past Sunday at Madison Square Garden in NY City! The place came down when they mentioned NY in The Camer Eye!! What a show!!! :)
Thanks so much for posting this man. I was in section six and recorded a lot of the show but had a new recorder and didn't get good quality stuff. Awesome work, man.
I was supposed to be at this concert but Southwest canceled all flights to Nashville that day and I couldn't get another flight...What a waste of money
Thats why King Crimson are still selling out stadiums. I like Crimson but pack it in man. Rush are pretty much beyond comparison at this point. Even people who hate Rush give them their dues at this point.
@perfectdisasterband Nah They do! I've never seen Rush do instrumental improv jams from scratch on the spot like Crimson, nor have i seen them play anything NEARLY as complicated (yet still not alienating) AND groovy like Discipline, Schizoid man, Lark's Tongues in Aspic (II), Construkction of Light, etc.
The ONLY thing that Rush has the upper hand over KC is the fact that (politically) it's an incredibly stable band (King Crimson can't keep the same personnel for more than 3 albums @ the most)
@snapascrew sure as shit didn't affect his drumming, so I could care less about how he gets his monitor feed or his appearance. He rocked like mad at this show.
I got the first 4 tickets sold for the palace of auburn hills Michigan date. floor section a row 1 seats 1-4... hopefully I'm not TOO far off to the right...
Awesome- I came down there from Chicago for the show. You can't believe how cool it is to say I was there and show this video. Show was incredible too! Great energy from Rush and a great crowd too. Thank you, see you down the road sometime- bye, bye!
Great capture. I was on the floor, way back. I recorded several songs. I recorded part of this before the usher finally stopped me! Thanks for sharing!
I got to see them play all of 2112 in Nashville on the Test For Echo tour. However, I must say that they rocked it harder at Bridgestone last Sunday, especially Alex's solo. Thanks for posting!!
I didn't try to bring in my camera, b/c I thought they wouldn't let me in with it and then I'd have to take it back to my car. Then I get inside and see everybody and their mama has a camera. Oh well, I probably would've been too distracted to enjoy the show if I had brought mine. I'm glad other people did though. The part at 3:42 thru me for a big loop. I didn't know what to think.
