Everybody who is asking, do some research. The Mazda "RX" series like the RX-7 and RX-8 have ROTARY ENGINES. This means that they do not have pistons. There are two rotating triangles in a housing connected by an axle, put simply. The reason why other people might ask why is there white smoke coming out of the exhaust is because the turbos need to spool up, or because it's cold out. Only the first turbo works under 4500 RPM, and the second one engages after that.

For those who noted the "slipping" belt; That is the air pump which is active only under 3500rpm (I believe). There is an electronic clutch that allows the air pump to freewheel at higher engine speeds, but the belt is not slipping.

@SkylineGTR58 no. fd's are awesome but so unreliable and can get pricey especially if your boostin them hard and doing rebuilds. fuck that. get a silvia, gtr , soarer, supra

@SkylineGTR58 Ah sorry, didnt realise you were from USA. In canada we are able to import cars from japan like silvias, skylines , CHEAP twin turbo supras 6spd loaded for 16k and many other cars like celica gt4's etc etc.

Your options are very limited in the usa for imports unless your a honda fan boi ricer. But i will say this, the rx8 is a garbage car. The 13b has many many outlying issues in its design and requires rebuilds which will cost you alot of money. PM me if u want more info.

@SkylineGTR58 yo buy the rx7 and find yourself a 99 and up rx7 engine and put it in there. I got two 94 rx7s and one of them is running 400 rwh and is daily driven with no issues. The thing that is unreliable is the p.o.s. owners that dont do the regular maintance and dont do the things necessary for the car to run like a champ.
