i have a stock 67 shovel. it doesn't care much for modern fuel. the rings are worn and the valves are caked, i'm certain; but, it behaves similarly when the right conditions present themselves. belches and breaths fire through a filthy old MD carb. it has some heart left in it. belongs on the road. it is the love of my life. our ashes will be buried together. your post does justice to the purists.. thanx
