Dog Training Tips : How Do I Train My Dog Not to Run Away?

I don't have a clicker or dog whistle, because my dad doesn't want the sound because... 'It annoys him' which annoys me, because I want to train my dog, and my dad won't let me, basically.

I told him that he can't hear the dog whistle, but still says 'no'... Please... Is there any way to train my dog without the dog whistle and clicker?

Hi... I've seen a lot of videos saying to 'Keep your dog on a leash' or 'Tell them to stay first'...

I've tried them all... None have worked.

My dog, Chip, he's 6 months old, and my mum put thorns and sharp things under the hedge where he gets out, but he doesn't really care and just keeps running off... Has anyone got any advice, apart from the ones that don't work? Please don't say 'Practice, then' or anything, I have tried and tried and practiced, but doesn't work... So... Any new advice???

My dog is great on the leash and listens but when he is off he run away like a Kenyan being chased by a cheetah.

How to teach your dog to stay? Just check the leash?!!! Look at 38 seconds and it's clear how you trained it!

Surely if you get him to stay using the leash, as soon as he is off the leash he will bolt when he can!

Let me get this straight-I'm looking for tips how to train or respond when my dog runs out of the yard unexpectantly, this whole freaking video is about the way you prevent that is put him on a leash, wel freaking DUH, no shyte sherlock! I could never take him out of his crate either, is that the solution? useless!

I have three rottweilers and a German Shepard they are all well behaved needless to say they don't jump just from me yanking the leash this poor German gets beaten I can tell.

My neighbors dog doesn't have a leash or a fence and their dog doesn't run. I wish I knew how to teach my dog. I taught her how to high five, roll over and speak but I can't get her to stay when the front door is open!

He is a horrible dog trainer. I am a dog trainer in CT and this guy is a moron, if you want take notes on anyone watch "kikopup"s videos. He methods are closer to mine and she will always get better more positive results from any dog
