  • "Make your decision based on what John's got to say..." How about making your own decision based upon your own experience instead?

  • ... I agree, some people go for other reasons! Also, if someone feels GOOD and is flourishing in their life because of HOT yoga then why would you want to lead them to believe otherwise? If people do not benefit from this style or lineage then they can decide to seek another style of yoga that better suits them. Seriously, you are, mmmm annoying little RED head.

  • yoga is good for you and i disagree that it's a scam, BUT saying that i have read doctor articles that say it can cause you to pull muscles or faint during class. so i think the best thing would be just to start slow and see were it takes you

  • Birkram really is a great work out, body-balancer, and stress relief. Some people like to attribute all kinds of supernatural spiritual BS claims to it, but those claims aren't necessary to success. There are no souls, nor is their any such thing as mind energy, and their claims about colon cleansing and detoxifying are utter pseudo-scientific crap withot a shred of evidence in support of them. Bikram works because full body flexibility and core strength are cornerstones of good health.

  • ....and focusing on the moment leads to peak neurological states, which are central to most religious experiences. It is simple mindfulness, but people love to believe in spirits and souls lol

  • I've been doing Bikram for two weeks and I've never felt better. I think you're full of it.

  • Bikram yoga gave me back my health and energy, maybe than reading propaganda, you should try it. It's a meditation and inspiration, it connects your body mind and soul along with cleansing your organs and arteries. so in closing, you dont know what you are talking about and neither does the lazy bum who wrote that silly article

  • My mom went to yoga for like 6 weeks already, she hasn't been so angry and stressed, and she also has lost 30 lbs, now she weighs 142 lbs. Hot Yoga, isn't a scam you're just to fucking stupid to even understand the complexity of it, and what it does not only for you and your mind, but how this affects others around you with a good attitude all the time, and it's probably the best stress reliever, and weight loss aswell. I'm only 15 and I'm quite overweight & I lost 5" and now weigh 150lbs (6'1")

  • You put down and bad-mouth a tried and tested method of yoga just to advertise your cheap work out program? Very sleazy indeed.

  • Whatever, I went from 300 pounds to 160 pounds in 3 years doing nothing but Bikram Yoga. No gym. No running. No Jumping. Just the 26 and 2 every day. Nice try tho.

  • give me back my 42seconds!!!

  • Absolutely useless video. No substantial information.

  • i'm a strong believer in hot yoga, and also believe everyone has their opinion however, if you have not yet tried hot yoga, please do not judge.

Also I am an athlete, I rowed for 4 years.... myself and other athletes believe that a 90 minute workout of Bikram is much more difficult than rowing...

please try it before you judge it, and keep nasty comments to yourself.

    namaste

  • Hot yoga is not a cure all, for me it is part of an exercise "menu" that has really helped my flexibility and is part of a healthier lifestyle. There are a few poses that will always be hard for me, but it's such a great thing to stay with and embrace.

Don't quit after the first class...it takes a while to get used to it! Hydrate plenty before your first class and don't be discouraged, rest as you need to the first few classes!

  • I think what is scam is U!

  • wrong attention, better change your marketing strategy.

    Bikram is fantastic!

  • take a look at the source. Need I say more. And that's a yogic response. See you in the ROOM!

  • EXCUSE ME LADY .... you are wrong like everyone else says in this wall, a good sugestion try to do something with your life and PLEASE TAKE THIS AWKWARD VIDEO OUT OF HERE.

Do some practice, live a happy life... NAMASTE.

  • Have you even tried it? If not, there is not room to talk. I went and had blood work done before and after my 60 day challenge, and the results were incredible. I think people who have too much time in their hands are just trying to bring others down.!

  • Seriously woman, what's your point? Trying to promote yourself or "Flatlabs" or whatever that is, by discrediting somebody else? Using Bikram is your only way to get attention?

  • Nay sayers.. It's good for you full stop. It increases flexibility, well being and damn it feels good. What is it about certain people who always have to knock something positive..

  • Of course it helps with fat loss and a great detox. It sure alleviated my lower back pain and I've became much more flexible. Some people just simply can't take the heat, therefore they do not reap the wonderful benefits. I love the sweat, the challenge and the heat. bring it on!

  • @ryanncwsp its a very poor fat loss program and no exercise detoxes anything, its still great though.IF yoga detoxifies anything(anyone who talks about detox is invariably a clown ) all exercise does it and better than yoga by far.

  • I did not read the article. And i dont kno much about "hot yoga" but sweating is a natural way of detoxing. Heavy users first symptoms are usually night sweating. Deliberatly puttin yourself in a hot humid enviornment will enduse detoxing.. My favorite part of summer :)

  • Great exercise. After a month or regular practice, sertonin levels get balanced out, stamina increase and so does flexibility I don't know about "releasing toxins" or any of the other BS claims, but I think it's the best exercise for a man over 45. Just my opinion.

  • Is this person trying to say that toxins do not leave the body via sweat? A simple lab test will prove the body excretes uric acid and other toxins via sweat.

  • if it wasn't for the Bikram yoga this idiot would have nothing to talk about. She should be talking about how crack is bad for your health instead.

  • maybe people do it for fun? plus when you sweat from the hotness of the excerise you certainly loose weight, unless your eating a bacon egg and cheese mcgriddle during it

  • maybe people do it for fun? plus when you sweat from the hotness of the excerise you certainly loose weight

  • You are insane! I have gone from a size 14 to a size 10 in 5 weeks. I have worked out 5 to 6 times a week and kept a sensible diet. I felt woozed just the firts three classes. I am amazed someone would dare call this hocus pocus! Go do ten days in a row, every studio offers it for $20. See for yourself. My inspiration is a woman in my studio who is 74 years old. She started at 72. She went for 375 days straight!!!!!!!! Went from a size 20 to a size 8. Namaste.

  • @mix25mix25 its not near intense enough to burn many calories, the weight loss is mostly water just like a sauna

  • @mix25mix25 Yes, we all love Elaine!

  • Yes to both!

  • Agreed completely with the below statement. I've been an athelete my whole life and bikram yoga is by far the best workout I've ever done.

It provides peace of mind, a confidence and greater understanding of your body, and I can say my flexibility has increased 2 fold from when I started.

Also, many people burn up to 800 calories / class (90 minutes). How can that not aid in fat burning? I disagree completely with this series of articles.

  • @dfortinvt if you were an athlete and yoga is harder than that you must have been playing golf or darts, its a low intensity workout that stresses developement of joint mobility.Theres no possible way that yoga could burn 800 kcals in 90 mins and theres no way anyone could know how many theyve burned outside an exercise physiology lab.It is fun to do and is a great stress reliever and some nice women to look at

  • @scarred10 Bad troll is bad

  • @scarred10 You clearly have never taken a bikram yoga class....

  • @essicabessica I have and you sweat a bunch but thats not fat loss, its water. No yoga would ever be good for that, its far too low intensity.Im also an exercise scientist

  • Some people don't go to hot yoga for either of those reasons, so what is the point you're trying to prove?

it's an amazing workout, good stress releiver, great for sleep, and overall feeling good. It certainly doesn't prove to do any harm vs. regular yoga, so why the discussion?
