I don't think its even possible to make the claim that anyone is the greatest of all time. We don't know what the future holds (ex: Dogopolov, Grigor, Young).

Believe me, I agree that Roger is the greatest yet (unless we're talking true potential, in which case I'd say Borg might have been the best had he kept playing). But then again comparing Borg's era with Fed's is like comparing an Xbox 360 to an old NES; they're both good, some even prefer the NES, but they're totally different.

@staewarsgenius That makes almost no sense. Nadal is phenomenal shape, but being an athlete isn't just about running marathons. Technique and finesse are equally as important. Nadal doesn't have the shot making power that Federer does. Federer makes tennis look effortless while Nadal makes it look like bloody murder. The more graceful athlete is the better one.

Because Nadal's backhand happens to be a two hander; it's not a good offensive weapon, but because he has two hands on his shaft, he has necessarilly better control.

It allows himself a greater margin for error which means he won't do as many unforced errors as Federer. But more important, it allows him to control the most crutial part of a lefty to righty rally. How?

He can switch rally pattern at will by hitting down the line on each shot.
