    やっぱり呪怨は最高^^

  • @buyhdtrsd All of these were directed by the same guy. Declaring the American version better is no big deal since all you're saying is you preferred how he directed the American versions instead of the Japanese ones.

  • Tendangan mauuttt

  • I didn't get it at all....

  • wait a second... 3:19 the girl behind, isn't that the girl that was with kanna?! :O

  • Who was the girl at the end?

  • It's not very scary, but it's cool nonetheless ! :)

Thanks for uploading it ! :)

  • scary? SCARY???? what was scary in this movie? it was borin as shit

  • i don't understand the ending,is the girl in the window Kayoko?

  • @MrBoxhappy did you find out/? i wanne know too :)

  • @darkgirlnijnuis2 Nope not yet

  • @MrBoxhappy No, it was one of the new owners of the house, but she was POSSESED by Kayako.

  • This has to be the scariest TV Movie of all time!

  • The american is much bether and has much more horror!

  • the movie is soo booring ... all the "scary" parts seem rather funny to me ... especially the meowing boy... i like psychological horror ... but this one... is just boring

  • I have always enjoyed the Japanese horror films it is said they are more psychological not a bunch of monsters jumping out at you... The meow is different but creepy at the same time. The kid and the mother were both creepy. I like this movie... Got goosebumps a few times ont his one but the end of Grudge creeped me out the most...

  • Thank you for posting this‚ The Curse isn't available in the U.S. yet‚ it is the only one I need to finish my collection

  • For people saying this version is remade, it isn't. Ju-On The Grudge is the remade version. It's also the 3rd movie out of a series of films.

Here are the titles in the series:

    -Katasumi and 4444444444

    -Ju-On The Curse 1

    -Ju-On The Curse 2

    -Ju-On The Grudge 1

    -Ju-on The Grudge 2

-Ju-On The Girl in Black/Old Lady in White

The Curse were both TV movies. They were popular enough to have a a full blown theatrical release. With the Grudge films being remade in America.

    Thumbs up so people know.

  • @doomburn By any chance would you know someone I could purchase a DVD copy of either of the first two (Ju-On The Curse)? I want to have the whole series but those two I cannot find anywhere.

  • @doomburn wait.... so I skipped 1 movie?! DAMN!

  • @IroNoHimitsu nope Katasumi and 44444444444 are short films and only helps you to understand wat happen with the girl wihtout jaw and her brother(cellphone)

  • The Ju-On game was scarier then that

  • here are the links so u can see what happened to Tsuyoshi and Kanna

    youtube.com/watch?v=zPxuXP3BMwA

    youtube.com/watch?v=TaQm2YhPAPc&feature=related

  • this film isnt even scary :L

  • although frightening, asian horror films often have a lame plot to the films, i.e. spirits affecting the sake, bullshit

  • stupid

  • honestly the american version is scarier. this is just silly.

  • @buyhdtrsd ...you may think so. But be grateful Ju-on was not considered so silly in Jpn, it proved to be quite successful or else there would never been the theatrical versions, both Japanese or American, for you to enjoy.

  • Okay... thanks to this movie, I pedge to now and forever carry a BAT along myside.... *gulp* Thank you the Grudge and Juon =___=

  • Thanks for uploading the movie :-)

    It was really good!

  • I like the american version because it has a lot more scares this one was more creepy

  • Well I've learned I don't mind subtitles but I've also learned that I prefer The Grudge to Ju-On. This just didn't have any effect on me at all. I'm glad I've watched it though coz I was so curious to see what people were talking about, so many say it's that much scarier than the US version (it SO isn't)... so thanks for putting it on here! :)

  • @RetroGirl1974 Just so you know, the american version is a remake of both this movie AND Juon The Grudge, so of course this one won't seem as scary on it's own.

  • Respond to this video... but not the same girl obviously

  • @kittyluver3110 even though they did use the jawless girl clip from this movie and put it in the grudge aswell though lol

  • That movie was terrible I didn't get any of it.

  • @Manofaction0 read more about it the movie goes back and forth to other bits in time to explain whats happening to the people who are living in the house where Kayako and Toshio were murdered by Takeo

    it is confusing though:P

  • これが 映画化前ね=b

  • これってOVA?

  • @01rinsuke10 oh yes

  • Very confusing, but still very good.

  • @kittyluver3110 How many Ju On movies are there cause I have 4

  • For those asking what happened in the end. The psychic sees that the woman who has bought the house is possessed by the curse, and that it will continue onwards. The throw away line about the psychic's nephew acting strange I think infers that they are touched by the curse and perhaps the boy is acting like Toshio, possessed by him. I haven't seen the other films so perhaps this is expanded upon. All I know is I loved this film!

  • This is definitely better than the remake!

  • Ok im sorry but the remake is aBIG improvment on this,,

  • @aztec406 So glad someone agrees! This one doesn't even come close to the US remake!!!

  • @RetroGirl1974 my point exactly:D

  • explanation please!!! >_<

  • @KayHeL i didnt get it either:p lol

  • @KayHeL ....explanation for this clip or the entire movie?

  • Did I miss something at the end? Who was the woman staring out the window?

  • @jons44 ...the woman at the window is the part of the latest couple to move into the Saeki house. The realtor told his sister, the psychic, they had drank the sake and did not have a bad reaction to it.

  • the man walking at 4:15 looks like Miyamoto

  • TUIA man, and so is the extra info

  • i didnt understand the ending, can someone explain plz?

  • the american version is REALLY SCARY !!!!

  • @jordansholaja10 err... there is no american version of the curse... there is only the american version of the grudge.... and it kinda sucked

  • @jordansholaja10 agreed. juon original is nothing compared to the american version. I actually laughed at it. compared to the american version when I got a few nice scares :D

  • wait. what did she see at the end????

  • @efgy6 ...Kyoko, the psychic, felt the presence of Kayako's ghost within Kitada Yoshimi, the wife of the latest couple to move into the Saeki house.

  • can some1 explain to me the flow of this movie coz i cant understand the relation between those people in this movie...(-_-)???

  • I did not know this was a low budget film, it's very nicely done, props to the director and actors/actresses.

  • Wow. I saw the American remake, and I thought THAT was good... but seeing the original video makes me realize we BUTCHERED it!

    Eep! 0_0

  • @rainethesage I like both versions but the american version is a bit hollywood-ised. Looks brighter but slightly darker due to the camera used.

  • my brothers got a house across from a huge cemetery and its really japanese style like.. x.x i refuse to go there

  • @marineboy090 i would 2 lol

  • @angelchinky Well, he died. I just don't know how. They never really told you, it was just implied. :P And that lady must be some sort of exorcist or a medium or something, so she went back to see if the people in the house were okay, but judging from the way the she reacted to them, they must've been possessed by the grudge.

  • Just goes to show what you can do with a camera, a bit of makeup and the power of suggestion

  • oh my gosh! oh...at 3:39 i thought there was someone behind her but that was just her hair o.o

  • Watched the whole movie now... came here to listen to the ending music which they cut from the version I've downloaded... the ending theme easily makes the whole thing more creepy, but overall... this movie is not that scary! I think Ringu was scarier than this one. And "A Tale of Two Sisters" was just... OMFG that movie.

BUT: I still love this movie, I love the story in it. A simple haunted house story but my god, so brilliantly told. Very good and interesting movie!! I recommend it!

  • i'd rather lose money than sell the house D:

  • could somebody tell me wtf just happened in this last part??

  • .i would have liked the story if i just know why those things are happening...i don't know what's with the cat...i don't even know the reason behind the boy and his mother..in short...i didn't understand the story..

  • so now she is together with the one she loved?

  • @SkullxKillerin .....if you mean Kayako....no. In Jpn folklore the concept of the lands of the Dead is not the same as Heaven. In Jpn afterlife either a family Spirit is honored and remembered with the proper rituals so they remain to watch over the family or go on to be reincarnated to start a new life. In Kayako's case the fate of her Reikon (Spirit) is trapped in the mortal world by the jealous rage of her husband when he murdered her.

  • poor kayako. i wish someone could talk some sense into her and calm her spirit down.

  • @neroxero

i felt the same way for her and the girl from the ring i mean there stories are so sad. I wish someone could have helped them.

  • @neroxero ....there are proper rituals to be done to assure the Spirit has a uneventful journey to the lands of the dead. But first it must be acknowledged there is a Onryō and in the current modern world most are conditioned by society to not believe in ghosts, even in Japan

  • I CUDNT UNDRSTND THE SAKE MATTER :D WAT WAS DAT ALL BOUT

  • @khalid16butt the Sake is to tell the people interested in buying the house if it's too dangerous for them or not, based on the taste of the sake

  • lik dis shxt is crazi nuthen hapen 2 both of them yet luks lik the ghost want the ladies attenction more even doe she left tht hous she mit go bk 2 dat place

  • not that scary. and why was she scared when she saw that woman?

  • umm...i don't really understand the ending...could someone explain? I'm kind of a noob...does it mean that the curse got to the new owners? or what?

  • @andXsoXitXis In the american versions, sometimes the new owners would reinact the murder (they'd go crazy and kill eachother). That may be what was going on, but I'm not sure either ;)

  • @sadanimations AH! Thank you! That makes more sense...

  • mmm to me this wasnt all that scary..it had its moments i guess. Why is it that the remakes seem more scary to me? Maybe because i seen the remake first then the original or is just because the Japanese dont quite put the scare in their movies? uh i dont know but the remake had me freaking out for days especially because i had the attic in my room!!

  • Who else loved the music at the end? Best part of the whole film haha :)

  • okay..... what the heck happened? =__=

  • low budget foreign films tend to be much better that hollywood blockbusters.

tho i did like 'The Grudge' by Sam Raimi. but this one is really freaky.

  • @rtablada me to, the original director directed the remake and Sam Raimi produced it and you can tell he did produced it.

  • @rtablada Sam Raimai only produced it, It was directed by the same guy

  • Comment removed

  • this movie is actualy had to understand.

  • それは呪終わりに!

  • so, that freaking end is so cool *ghost staring at that woman* -.- then credits came, cool!

  • @ColourFull990 DAMN! Thanks for spoiling the end man! :D

  • should have that exorcism imo

  • There are ju-on the curse ju-on the curse 2

Then the story continues with Ju-on The grudge 1 and 2 ( and then the Usa versions of grudge 1 ,2 ,3! And thers 1998 very early budget too.

  • i didnt find it scary

  • i feel damm scary .tis moive is of all i am scare of ><

  • the end is not interesting........

  • @skyz1990 i think that ghost killed her?

  • What happened at the end

  • えっ 最後どういうこと?

  • Comment removed

  • I'm heavily impressed with the quality of this despite the low budget. Very scary.

  • it was ok, not really that scary.

  • Mek you watch it on the TV inna eve, then it'll be scary.

  • Ich liebe japanische Filme :)

  • ja ich auch!=)

  • japanese sake is holy

  • this is actually the prequel u need to see the original story meaning the 1st Juon than u will understand the full story.

  • @lolazz22 hi. i got a bit confused myself...so this is the prequel movie...could you please tell me the english titles of the three following ones? thank you very much.

  • @fastlove1971 ...no, 'Ju-on: The Curse' is not a prequel. It is the original movie that started the series. Because of the unexpected success and popularity the following movies were made: Ju-on: The Curse 2 (the sequel; also released as V-Cinema)....the Jpn theatrical releases: Ju-on: The Grudge and Ju-on: The Grudge 2 ....the American theatrical releases: The Grudge, The Grudge 2.

  • @lolazz22 ...actually "Ju-on: The Curse" is not a prequel but the original story and the first movie of the quite successful series. The explanation is in the chapter entitled "Kayako".

  • lol booze

  • So what does this all mean?

  • is that the actress from ringu?

  • Thanks for such a good-quality upload.

  • Okay.. Why has alcohol something to do with undead ghosts~..? xD

  • It's not the alcohol, it's the whole sake.

    It's just cultural stuff, superstition.

For them, when you sneeze, someone is talking about you; in Brazil, when your ear stings, someone is talking bad things about you.

  • ju-on 2 shows what happens to Kyoko for anybody thats up to it.

  • this isa movie weird things shell happen

  • then why did the women came back to that house ? who bought that house ? im counfused.

  • anyone here knw the music of the ending song ?

  • does anynone knows the real story?

  • @Angelbluee123

i think the curse started when kayako's husband kill her and her son toshio.

it looks like it is a curse..

    @to all

i just dont get it, why is it there are some segmented clips? why not just state it in the whole movie?it makes watchers confused.

  • ima keep sake in my house now, at all times

xD because im cool like that

  • This is a low budget movie? no offense but i think it is very good and whole time when i was watching it, i thought it was an regular budget movie. And i did liked it :)

  • @FLCLeureka7 my guess is that it was. it was made into an american version cause it got a fanbase following it. which is WHY there are 6 movies in japanese :P

ive seen all 3 american versions of the grudge and i did like them, but this movie is very good

  • @FLCLeureka7 it's low budget, i even got a vcd of this (the one without the creeeking sound of kayako and no subs that's why i did't understood the story back then)

  • @FLCLeureka7 Thought the missing jaw scene was pretty poor. I mean, this film was made in 2000. Most films at that time had far superior animation than that. Just look at Jurrassic park, it was made in 1993 and the animation in that was amazing compared to the animation used in this movie.

  • @aidentheodd Yeah true but I don't care since they protrayed the story well. Not "special effect" thats the word from me, i'm raised in "special effects" country, America. And I do not enjoy them. ;) But yes ur right. that scene was poor compared to jurassic park.

  • @aidentheodd That's because this movie was made for tv on a very low budget.

  • @FLCLeureka7 yeah its a low-budget movie, the budget was about 4 million $

  • @FLCLeureka7 and yes this movie is great

  • @FLCLeureka7 Great comment, but why do you say no offense when you are giving a compliment? It's like saying: No offense but what you cook tastes really good. No offense btw ;)

  • @2CSST2 lol good point u got. I said that in case if someone disagree. but I think ur right :P

  • @FLCLeureka7 ...yes it was a low budget movie. It was intended for TV and DVD release. In Jpn this type of low budget productions are call V-Cinema. The unexpected favorable word of mouth encouraged making a full theatrical version, in Jpn, Ju-on: The Grudge and Ju-on: The Grudge 2 and later the American releases: The Grudge and The Grudge 2/

  • I'm totally bringing some sake with me on all my ghost-hunting adventures from now on.

  • I haven't know Sake has some kind of spiritual power.

  • It wasn't the owner, it was the ghost

  • little mac I'm going to give you a kayko from tokeyo.

  • What do you mean by a low budget film???0_0

  • After all, don't we all have our own opinions?

  • maybe its just that we can understand whats "really" happening in english?

  • hey mastersailor14... I have something to say.... you will probably disagree with what I say... but I have to say you're an idiot.

  • This isn't the one that the American version is based on. The one that it's based on is Ju-On: The GRUDGE, not Ju-On: The CURSE. The CURSE was a very low budget film; the Grudge is a lot better and scarier- guaranteed to be better than the American version.

  • I wish I had known that before I watched the whole thing. =\

  • aw shit! i watched the whole freakin thing. dang it...

  • shimizu knows how to scare the shit out of you huh?

  • I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm pretty sure the director's 2 short films are on the special features of The Grudge DVD.

  • wth.. wat happen next.. ???? i though that hse is hunted becuz the father kill koyoko and his son?? den wat happen t de father?? why tis movie jump here n there de...?? =[[

  • he was killed by kayako.

  • interesting info about sake O_o

  • What really shocks me is that they're actually EXPLAINING something so explicitly in this film...

    That's a first!

  • love kayako <3

  • Kayako was the mother of toshio and the dead women how came down the stairs?

  • Kyoko is pretty

  • i know man, she's really beautiful...

yea, just take out the creepy makeup.. haha

  • I love it. It's a little harder to follow than the English version but much scarier and deep. I'm going to watch the rest of the movies in this series now! =)

  • I think Ju-on(Japan) is more terror than The Grudge(U.S.) but the Grudge is more understandable the story line than Ju-on...

  • totally agree

  • @TubeSeeker09 correct

  • @TubeSeeker09 Ju-on is probably harder for us to understand since we're American and our culture is so different from the Japanese. But I definitely agree with you on the horror part. The Japanese are much better at horror these days than Americans are. All we ever have anymore are slasher films, not horror.

  • @FallenNephilimTeukie Well, among the Asian ghosts/demons/evils (whatever), Japanese ghost, dying with the great grudge, is the hardest to defeat one or probably undefeatable I guess. In Japan, there are levels of the ghosts and I think Kiyoko (the ghost) is the top level among them.

  • @TubeSeeker09 I read a book on Japanese mythology once, and remember hearing about the different levels of ghosts and stuff. There are like the lowest levels who are basically just minions, the the middle levels who can be familiars, and stuff like that.

  • @FallenNephilimTeukie I'm sure that you're surprised that an old stuff could became a ghost (but low level) becuase the owner just abandon to use it such as umbrella ghost (as I can remember). It got spirit ("Ju-Rei" or Eu-Ray) in itself (somes are good and somes are bad). That's why Japanese people would have their customary to check up their old stuffs annually. But the house in this story is different, it got affect by Kyoko's great grudges and become dangerous to any visitor.

  • I don't understand some thing there are lots of kinf of this movie no ?

  • god the real estate agent is so typically blunt headed.

  • kyoko's a smart girl

  • What a great TV movie, only found out that this was the very first Ju-on recently. I think it's better than the movie version, more scary, creepy, and it has Chiaki in it, will definately buy it if I can find it.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • yeah totally! this version is hands down the best. (now im excited cause they hav the second one on here and i havn's seen it yet)

  • Holy Schmoley, so there are 2 Ju-on the curse TV movies, 2 Ju-on the Grudge movies and 3 American Grudge movies and It seems 2 short films made before the 1st curse movie, when's the Tv series coming out???

  • And there are two brand new movies coming out in Japan at the end of June (Cinema premiere 27.06.2009): "Ju-On - Black Girl" and "Ju-On - White Woman". They are going to be shown as Double-Feature to Ju-On´s 10th anniversary.
