hi.most people agree that the green heat thats recomended is pretty crap.it takes two green heats to work good,and thats expensive.esbit tabs are better.but what beats everything is the SWEDISH MESS KIT....!
one more question:).....is the "BCB Crusader" heavier than the US MOLLE cook set that includes..(Molle pouch,canteen,cup,type II desert stove/stand)???
No residue left on the cup. You can clean the cup with soap and water. I use it in the fire alot and it gets pretty dirty. If you dont have soap, in the field you can use some sand from a creek.
I'll always carry 2 USGI canteens, 2cups, and 1+ stoves. 2 quarts of water is the bear minium, 4 + is best, so there is a need to carry at least 2. Nearly the equivilent. The main advantage of the USGI stove is the ability to use sticks or a coal from the fire to heat. The advantage of having to metal cups gives one two containers to boil/purify, and cook.

The green heat is ok if you dont have esbit. I like the esbit though.

it is a little, due to the Crusader having a different stove than the US version. But its not that much heavier.

Love mine! The green heat sucks! The newer US military gel fuel works great! As does HEET (as you show) and esbit/trioxane/hexamine! good vid

I need to get some of the new military gel and try it.
Thanks for watching.

Green heat works great to HEAT water...but if you need to boil, alcohol is hotter....or the US military gel fuel. What does the kit run US prices?

@MrCableguyken
The whole kit runs about $75. It was more than I really wanted to spend, however in the long run I think it will be worth it.
