Herr, Heildirgunther, danke for this post. Music lovers today can enjoy the music of Richard Wagner who created the concept of 'Gesamtkunstwerk' that led to his many wonderful operas. To me Die Meistersinger is the greatest of the lot! sd goh (malaysia)

Jerusalem interests me. here is a singer picked out of the oboe section to replace Bonisolli when he stormed off. One assumes he did not have meticulous preparation for a singing career. One also hears he smokes like a chimney. He sort of gets up there and lets it rip. Perhaps it isn't stylish, but he took a lot of blows standing and sang the rep for 25 years or so... an interesting singer

Great Scene!! If someone could please post the scene of the second act between Sixtus Beckmesser, played by Hermann Prey, and Hans Sachs (Bernd Weikl), I assure everyone would love it. It is spectacular, both singing and acting!!
