  • does it work if ur playing as serge in lynx body??

  • where is the dwarf!?!?

  • @johutar I did the same thing

  • @HCBailly I hot egale eye in viper manor cause one of those bulb things Luccia has you fight dropped it as a rare drop

  • Okay, great game, but when does the "Chrono" part come in?

  • @NinoshotheLandmaster Chrono is time

  • I agree that Eagle Eye is amazingly broken in the game.

    But it's amazing buff.

  • I gotta check out Nikki next I really did like him but guile is my favorite I never used Pierre.

  • @HCBailly the games Atlus creates make buffs and de buffs a MUST HAVE and i promise they are more than enough challenge

  • NeoFio? What the hell? I have NEVER heard of that party member... These LP's are amazing.

  • Where do you get the Iron to make the Steel Sword and Iron Mail. Disassemble Kid's old stuff ?

  • Yeah, by doing exactly that.

sadly i forgot to keep her ivory dagger so i could not remove her iron dagger..

and one iron mail can be got by feeding dragons 100 times.

  • BAM!!! 50 DAMAGE!!!

  • You should really post the equipment and element setup for nikkis path on here since you show how to recruit those people

  • What about adding eagle eye with strengthen.

  • I think thats one of my favorite intro's of yours ever

  • does neofio have anything to say to 'its' creator (not hatcher) at any point in the game?

  • If you talk to Luccia first, she walks away, but if you give the Life Sparkle to NeoFio before talking to Luccia, you actually get a few paragraphs of extra dialogue.

I just tried that the other night on my playthrough; Luccia says something like "Oh? You have the Life Sparkle!", and after NeoFio wakes up, she thanks Luccia for creating her, but that she's going to travel with Serge.

  • Is Nimble (the Evade+ buff) any good? Judging from your vids, enemies attack a lot, and missing doesn't reset your hit% (AFAIK). For me, it seems logical to use it... is it worth that?

  • I think the Sight Scope is one of those nice references to Chrono Trigger; since it is thefirst accessory that Lucca came equipped with.

  • Those bugs (Centaurpedes?) can kick your ass with just one element, if you're lucky enough they won't use it.

    (Or if you use diminish)

  • Hehehe...."homosap."

  • Okay, so we recruited a flower. What other kinds of flora and fauna can we possibly allow in our party!?!?!

  • An inanimate carbon rod?

  • HCBailly, I like how you complain in other games where status ailment affect bosses that it makes them too easy, but in this game where they don't affect bosses they are useless haha. :P

  • Square Enix needs to learn how to create a balance between the two. Don't give bosses a status weakness that is the equivalent of instant death, while at the same time making other status ailments worthwhile and even necessary to defeat a boss with some amount of strategy beyond the brute force method.

  • hopefully they learn it for final fantasy 13 but i agree all bosses should be immuned to evrything

  • @HCBailly (coughs) Magus sisters', FF 4. Does that count, though?

  • @HCBailly yeah like how you can use a blue magic spell that lowers the bosses level to a multiple of 5 and skipping the whole dialog for instance exdeath vs galuf

  • Never bother with debuffs since they never seem to work well enough for the wasted element use/slot.

Now buffs was not sure on duration or if difference in element lv matter much so sort of kept them on stand by but didn't actually touch them. Needless to say was surprise to see that eye practically max hit, was not suspecting that huge of a buff base on the other buff/debuff observations.

Wonder if makes that 99 element pointless unless has longer duration.

  • The Ninety-Nine element actually fixes your Hit% to 99, whereas EagleEye increases it by a set amount. This usually results in EagleEye maxing out Hit%, but not always, depending on the evade of the enemy.

In any case, you are correct that Ninety-Nine is relatively useless.

  • and just imagine eagle eye with max states

  • HCBailly,

I was wondering, with Pierre, Guile, and Nikki, If you made seperate saves because of New Game +, ie getting all the characters in technically 1 playthrough

  • WeakMinded is just as good as Genius, and they stack too, but I'm not sure how much you plan to use elements and magic-based techs in this LP. Weaken and Imbecile are situationally useful against bosses with powerful attacks. LoRes and Numble suck, since defense is subtractive and enemies rarely have any evasion. I haven't tried BatEye, so I can't comment on that.

  • the non-human characters are always interesting to use.

  • Too bad the movie Eagle Eye sucked.

  • Haha, glad I'm not the only one who knew that about statuses in the lower element slots. :P I used to dedicate lesser characters for buffing types. I tried using numble since I figured it would raise my hit percent by lower enemy evade, but yeah... it sucked.

Magnify has its uses at times as well as the one that lowers element damage. (the latter more useful than former) but generally eagle eye was my favorite... especially since I'm a fan of a boomerang kid :P

  • HCBaily i found this game call ActRise 1,2 and is from enix and quintent like SoulBlazer,Ilusion of gaia and terranigma and the sound from ActRise are the same from SoulBlazer so there is a conection from this two games ooo and your LP's are GREAT

  • HOLY CRAP!

Why don't you just use an instant death element while your at it!

  • "If only there was a way to do that..." meaning that of course there is, heh.

  • Your broken game just froze firefox, i restarted it so i could watch this.

  • I laughed so hard (not really, but I found it funny)

when you said that you gave birth to *X*.

  • And also that a character for once seem to remember that someone actually cared about being saved instead of whining about being held hostage.

    (Kid and the hostage thingy)

I guess it's arguable that she wouldn't need to be helped if she hadn't been held hostage, but on the other hand, normally (in my world) you would use the hostage as a shield instead of saving them.

I'm glad they actually seemed to think about that. :-)

  • Also, Riddel had already alerted us to her suspicions of her father and his guest.

  • Whoa. Eagle Eye is ridiculous.

  • You wouldn't think that something that simply increases Hit% would be that obscene, huh?

  • Only as obscene as the game's combat system lets it be. Remember FFX, how Haste and Slow were suddenly twelve times as useful as ever, especially when combined with such gems as Quick Hit and Delay Attack?

  • don't forget the sudden usefulness of the Dark status too...

  • The only reason it was useful was because you had Wakka's ability to both attack and inflict Darkness at the same time. No mucking around, wasting turns on Blind spells. That shit was win.

Poison was actually a pretty bad status ailment in that game, too. Too bad Wakka didn't have a Poison Attack, but, then again, that probably would've broken the game. XD

  • Don't forget about elements, with libra on a weapon and a good magic user you could see what the enemies were weak against, and attack them with it in a single turn, then there's instant death from a certain summon and his pet.

  • That was the only reason to keep tidus in your party at all around the middle of the game, without haste he would never have remained in my party for long, at that point other characters have similar hit ratios and more powerful attacks with better health.

He only really picks back up by the end of the game when you can start obtaining ultimate weapons and filling in more of the sphere grid than is accessible with the normal move.

  • Yeah, Haste and Hastega were definitely Tidus's best contributions. He didn't have much else of use on his path, but they ARE the most useful spells in the game, so it evens out.

  • yeah that buff is kinda like using sleep and jump together in FFtactics A-2

  • HCBailey ftw! HAYOOOOOOOOO!

  • hmm, Those bugs aren't so hard, they just take some time to kill.

  • iirc they cast earthquake which is a lv6 element that hits your entire party and sprains them. Good luck surviving that this early in the game.

  • I just fought a whole bunch of those bugs (they're called Certaurpedes), and while they took a while to kill, they weren't all that tough. I never saw any use Earthquake, although they did use Giddybreath (I think that's what it was called) a few times, but that wasn't a big deal. If they do have Earthquake, then I guess I was lucky that they didn't use it! I ended up winning a decent amount of cash and a bunch of carapaces.

  • Oops! I spelled Centaurpedes wrong in my last comment. I really should be paying more attention when I type...

  • never happened to me xD

  • I never knew the buffs worked that well. Ironically Guile's Eagle Eye would work best on an upcoming boss that this file won't face...

That's why I love your LPs... I always learn stuff I didn't know.

  • Most buffs aren't worth it. The difference is negligible compared to spending a turn recovering stamina.

  • Well, you have Razzly by then, don't you?

  • Too bad I wouldn't have access to Eagle Eye for that boss. Still, she's a house in the early game, far better than Glenn at the time.

  • Oh, that's right. Sorry, brain-fart.

  • Haha, I was just thinking the same thing. Man, I HATED that particular boss...or should I say "bosses"....
