The Roy Fox Band was my late ex-father in law's favourite dance band, and this tune a favourite of theirs. Thanks for posting...some great memories of a fine man.
The poor quality of the decca recording process, whilst bad, does give the music a far away in time sound which adds to the mists of time atmosphere.Lovely song...
I love it and I thank Henry814 for sending me this EXQUISITE MOON song especially in honor of the FULL MOON. Thank you twiddlybobby and Henry814. May moonbeams shine on both of you tonight. :-)
A lovely recording with the evocative photo of Al Bowlly in the centre playing his guitar. His relaxed and sincere vocal style makes him one of the outstanding dance band vocalists of the era. No wonder he was in such demand to sing with a variety of bands.
Hi, I like your video and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my vid clip of some rare jazz musicians and dance band Leaders cigarette cards, issued in 1936. They include Roy Fox, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington and many more.
This is my favorite record with Roy Fox & Al Bowlly, because it remembers of an old love of mine from 2002.

I can't believe I've been listening to this recording all this time and failed to express my thanks! Exquisite vocal, arrangement and band.

What a beautiful sound. Al's voice on best form.
Would anyone know if Lew Stone would have been arranging?

What a great band. Alot of these same fellows played with Ray Noble's studio band. And a great vocal by Al Bowly.
