i have never built a dock before an i am lookng to build a small dock on my lake. i want to use only two pilings at the end with the other end on the beach...would i have to build the whole thing where it will be..or could i make it say, on the lawn, and then move it onto the pilings....do you think it would work?
hi I'm from Ukraine and it's interesting that how build the concrete wgaterproof platform for housebout. it's extremly need that the platform will made from concrete or may be steel-concrete specialy for dislocation on whater. Can you advice where can I find this information.
It depends (of course) on the materials you are using and such but, usually, since docks are built above water, you want to leave slightly more space between the boards than you would on a normal deck to allow for expansion when the boards get wet.
A safe bet is to leave about the thickness of a pencil - which also happens to be easy to hold between the boards when setting them into place.
how about concrete pier or wharf? anybody knows the procedure how to make concrete pier or wharf...? i just need it for my report.... tnx...

will this type of dock withstand winter ice?

It depends on what you are using for stringers and for pilings.
