...I would always put all types of insects in those HUGE ant piles. You name it: Worms (Earthworms most of the time. You can fine 'em all over NYC), roaches, "water bugs" (a.k.a BIG roaches), grasshopers, anything bigger than the ants where they could gang up on take apart really good. It was kinda fun to watch back then. Yeah, I know, I was somewhat twisted in those crazy, hot-summer 1980's, NYC outer-boroughs days.

Whoa!!! Isn't that something...they took that sucker apart! Lol... You know, that is a bit nasty, but, it's also a great way to show us--or remind us--what true teamwork (and hard work) is all about.
And, keeping it completely real, I used to do that myself growing up in the borough (B-K!!!). As soon as it got warm out (late spring/early summer) I would check the cracks in the sidewalk (there were lots!), 'cause that's where all of the ants always meet (which I still don't get--why?). And...
now that's hard labour
