Have you listened to Tom's (new guitarist) old band, Gob? They had some pretty good songs. A lot of them sound a bit like Sum 41's first albums. Muertos Vivos on the other hand has a pretty heavy sound to it, with some sort of mix of hard rock, metal and punk.
Personally, my favourite album was dtli. The songs where Stevo had vocals were good too. I think Tom and Sum 41 have just mellowed out, although their new album is supposed to be similar to their older ones, hopefully they're right.

Tom is awesome, but Dave brought a unique quality to the band, like andord123 said, when they play live, you can really tell the quality of Brownsound. They'll never replace him, and just like the reviews and fan's opinions of Underclass Hero have proven, Sum 41 are spiralling downwards, which is a shame considering how great their other albums (with Brownsound) were.

bye the way tom from gob when playing sum 41's original stuff (fat lip, hell song, motivation all those good songs) and if you havn't noticed when sum 41 was doing the underclass hero tour they never played any songs from CHUCK. with the exeption of pieces and some say, but no bitter end, no reason, were all to blame. GET A BETTER TOURING GUITAREST

I dont like the way Cone said that Tom from Gob does everything that Dave does, but more.
Tom is awesome, but Dave brought a unique quality to the band, like andord123 said, when they play live, you can really tell the quality of Brownsound. They'll never replace him, and just like the reviews and fan's opinions of Underclass Hero have proven, Sum 41 are spiralling downwards, which is a shame considering how great their other albums (with Brownsound) were.

You know, it's true. Since Tom arrived, all the back-vocals are sung, like the CD, but it's also because Cone started singing more.
I don't say that Tom is an awesome singer and guitar player, just that he does more thing, concerning vocals.
But Dave sounded so much better live.
