I think the 60´s have more volumen and I also think that the necks is fantastic on most old guitars. The new jazzmasters are not to compare with a 60´ or a 70´, they are in my opinion very cheap made, in wood and sound. Also the surface are different on the old guitars, it´s thin and the guitars have a lot more tone and sustain.
