Could someone explain, please? Seeing this part 04010, during the boat ride Eugene mentions the fact that if he were not grateful for Lizzie attending him when he was bleeding to death instead of throwing him off....... But I saw that on o4011...so which is the real end? I suppose this one, not the one in 04011. Am I right?
@246Sparkle me too! ...He sort of exemplifies the old addage 'still waters run deep' and that the minds of society have more depth than the sparkly smooth shallow surface suggests
Charles Dickens has the old girl ask him his opinion several times ...it is only at the last that he shares... confirming that which we knew all along ...that there is wisdom and integrity in each one of us if we only listen when it is shared quietly and gently
Lovely period drama. Stayed up half the night watching this out to the end. Its now morning and I don't regret. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did my fellow period drama lovers.
thx so much for posting this great story!!!.... Dickens is the best, and this is a good movie made out of a good book.... I love how it challenges the moral position of society, as well as it shows a terrific inside of different impressive characters.... you come to love many of the minor characters as well as the main ones... Lizzie's and Eugenie's story is my favourite, love overcoming stupid but difficult social obstacles, I just wish Mortimer had found love, I do like him very much :)
its cute how even though wrayburn is supposed to be "higher" in "society's" eyes based on social standing, i think she as a person is much better and purer and knows herself and her morals--she is good for wrayburn b/c she makes him want to improve himself-but she doesn't actually need him-except that she loves him and he loves her too deep down and in that way they need each other and its beautiful in that way--i love how wrayburn basically said "screw society" i love lizzie &she makes me happy
thank you so much for posting the movie! john and belle are adorable but i have to say lizzie and wrayburn's story is just as captivating. lizzie gave wrayburn's life a purpose and made him want to better himself so that he could be worthy of lizzie
@Hanraoi I totally agree with you. That fact is really sad !!

@Hanraoi
Agree, but Mortimer is the Narrator of the story and a dedicated old fashioned bachelor. But he's certainly a good chap.

@Woodlander65 Yes rather like Mr. Lorry I think, from Tale of Two Cities ( I refer to the book of course)

I really liked Mortimer, at first I thought the movie was going to be about him and Lizzie so I was a little dissapointed.
But it was a good story and a lovely ending that avoided being too mushy.
