  • Hey whats the name and functionality of the Windows program "iPhone" that you are using?

  • @dcompart He is using VNC Viewer. It allows you to view your iPod/iPhone on your PC/Mac.

  • great - this works and was so easy.

    thanks.

  • OK....I did did everything correctly up to typing su and typing alpine and it shows su: incorrect password and below it reads:

    iPhone:~ mobile$

what can i do to fix this?

plus it DOESNT show anything like iPhone: /var/mobile root...etc..

    can u help me?

  • @BaBi3Hanh Type in "su root" and then "alpine". It will then prompt you to type in the new password. It will not show any characters so make sure you type it all in correct. If not it will say something along the lines of "password does not match"

  • Thanks for this! :)

  • ok i have a question if anyone can help.....When i open up the "mobile Terminal" i see my name. How do i change that to something else? Thanks

  • You cannot change the name in the Terminal App on the iPhone. However this is easily done in iTunes. Open iTunes. Left Click on your iPhone name in the Navigation Menu on the leftside under devices wait about a second then left click again and it should open up the Field for editing. Rename that field and your iPhones identity should now change.

  • good stuf nice one. it's not a nasty virus that's out there at the moment but because he published the saurce code it soon will be best to take steps now nomatter how small they are try keep ahead of the idiots. why not make a virus that makes cash machines spit money out rather then mess my phone up.

  • thanks.
