@saj8 The Brother released a track with hype lyrics incorporated to beat you could dance to, what's so wrong with that? It's better than ANYTHING today, and peaked at #1 back then... It's Hard Being the Kane, so you'll never understand.
I used to hate this album but,he was ahead of his time on this album,,,, camron,ja rule and many others should thank(THE PURPLE CLOTHING and THE SINGING HOOKS) him..He is my favorite rapper and I was hard on him but this sounds so much better now than it did then,
history repeats itself, once we get rid of the bad music and everybody know what i am talking about, we can get the real music back real lyrics, real music, i am really tried of good beats no lyrics,no talent,or good lyrics stupid fucking songs, and remember when u use to be able to listen to half or full albums and they were hot,now u'll be lucky for ONE song that is hot for a sec.we did this mess supporting crap music and over flooding the hip hop comm. with shit artist.time to wake up people
True. When he put this song out, this was during his "falling off" stage. Actually, it's a precursor to Puffy,P. Diddy,Diddy(whatever) styling of bling, the dancing, and the beats. Kane was ahead of his time and the faithful hip-hop heads couldn't deal with the image and musical transition. It's all good because he's still doin his thing on other people's projects and live shows.
it's like the same with ll's walking with a panther album, the equal was drinking champagne and he got panned hard from it,now all them rappers is doing that shit now and have multiple love songs on they albums, i guess when you break the mode you got to catch the bacclash yell
You know that I was thinking about the same thing when I found this video....I was thinking about "Strictly Business"....I really enjoyed that movie too...
It's all true. And for the longest time I've said that "true" music, true ryhmin' has been lost...or maybe just because times have changed (harder times)...all I ever hear on the radio is "straight thuggin'" and how much "back" she's got, "droppin' it low". It's sad. And if times are harder, why do we keep makin'em worse? Just wanted to add my 2 cents...not that I'm right!
hip hop is not dead. and BDK is alive and kicking. don't mourn;) think how much worse it could've been. just imagine for a second you've never even heard hh existed - u see? it's all good. peace

I remember people was like Kane fell off with this album, but he definitely was ahead of his time like you said. He gave the blueprint out.

Big Daddy Kane and Rakim both need to make albums. And Eminem needs to hurry up and finish his album and school that kid Wayne.
And what the hell happened to Yo-Yo?

After watching this, i have to admit that Hip-hop is dying a slow and painful death. Bring the 80's back even the early 90's.
