your tank looks way too small for an oscar. Isn't the minimum a 55 gallon? I know with Flowerhorns (about the same size as an Oscar) you don't put them in anything less than a 60 gallon and thats just 1 flowerhorn.

I prefer using beef heart (lean meats) than feeder fish. Feeder fish may contain diseases which may pass to your beloved oscar. Trust me, if you want to replicate the oscar's diet in the wild just go find some worms, crickets and any sort of insect from your- or ur mate's- garden.

@TaajFrancois your statement is correct, animals do eat other animals in the wild but in captivity this is unnecessary and goldfish have little to no nutritional value. There a a number of dry foods available as a healthier substitute for oscars. So why would you take a fishes life unnecessarily?

@BenSow95 lol, Oscars come from the amazon river, they eat other fish in the wild, I can't go and fly down to the amazon just to get fish for em. So Goldfish work just fine, they are both tank bred fish anyways. Besides that point, they are my fish and I enjoy watching them rip up other fish. 90% of the time they get dry food. A goldfish is a treat to them.

It's not so much my enjoyment as it is for the Oscars enjoyment, have you ever eaten goldfish before, maybe they taste wonderfully delicious to the Oscars, before they see a bag or a fish, if you shake the net in front of the tank they go nuts and start doing the hungry swim .
