  • I also like the personal quality that this fragrance has (I'm not exactly sure what I mean by that). It's something I'm used to getting with oils more often than proper perfumes. Maybe it's the patchouli - I find most fragrances with patchouli bases to work really well with my body chemistry.

  • This is beautiful! Very sensual, seductive, enigmatic, womanly but youthful, with none of the notes overpowering the others. It's just floral enough, sweet enough, and sultry enough. It's something my late mom would have worn, but I loved her taste in perfume! I mistakenly thought I disliked rose for quite awhile (maybe some outdated grandmother association) and am just starting to get into it. Thank you for introducing this fragrance to us YouTube fumeheads!

  • Adoro i profumi!

E tu, Katie, sei incantevole, nelle tue presentazioni...

Mi pareva di sentire l'odore di Juliette Has A Gun!

    Bravissima :)

A very big kiss from Italy.

  • I tried this, and loved it! I'm a 19 y.o. college student, and have been wearing this around a guy I'm really interested in. Would you recommend Lady Vengeance as a good choice to to get some good attention. I know guys are different when it comes to smell, and while this Lady Vengeance makes a great impression -- I don't want said impression to be too overwhelming, even though we run into each other around late evening, =). Thanks!

  • @Gonna0Live0Forever I think Lady V makes a great choice to make a favorable impression. It's so alluring but not too big and bombastic.

  • i just bought it today - $136 in australian dollars! [and the AUD is higher than the USD!!!!!!!!!] anyway, so worth it. im going to buy the 'not a frangrance' next. it smells like amber/wood/fig on my skin. like a g-rated womanity

  • @nesqualomimocho Not a Fragrance is much blander than that on me. The most I pick up on is a vaguely pear-inflected musk. But I like it!

  • I ordered a sample. It's smells good but its has a very masculine smell... It's very different... Not sure if I want one now, well see...

  • Anything that reminds one of Dita Von Teese gets an A+ in my book.

  • @gangurogeisha Oh yeah! And I'm very curious to smell Dita's debut perfume.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Me, too!

  • Katie, can you do JHG "Not a Parfum"? Or can you tell me what you think? I tried both Lady Vengance and Not a Parfum — I couldn't stop smelling my wrists.

    Thanks! XO

  • @stinakennedy Not a Perfume is a soft, pear-inflected, sheer, vaguely woody/musky scent. It's made of pure ambroxan, an aromachemical which provides a more of an aura than a smell. It's a really pleasing scent.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells That's it on the nose ; ) It IS more of an aura than a smell. I HAVE to have it. — it'll be my end of summer gift to me! Thanks Katie

  • That perfume is definitely asking for trouble!!! By the way you said it, I do want to try it! Thank you Katie, High Priestess of scent!xoxo

  • @fannymet8 You're so welcome!

  • I purchased 13 samples from Lucky Scent after watching your reviews. I just tried the Lady Vengeance today. Absolutely best way to describe is your words a youthful va-va-voom!!!!!!! Will be purchasing this and still looking into your other recommends. I'm planning on going to smell at Nordstrom on Black Friday...eek....

  • @poisonfrog28chris So happy to steer your sniffer towards new loves! There's a whole wide world of smells out there, baby!

  • Katie!! You've got me OBSESSED by this perfume!!

Your review sums up this beautiful fragrance PERFECTLY!!

I managed to get a bottle and I just found the purse bullet for a great price!!

But I'm already worrying about it running out! :/

  • @samasher So glad to assist in helping you find a perfume love!

  • I finally smelled something from this house, Calamity J. Definitely unisex. I like it a lot. ...and I like amber, so it's no surprise. I pooped a review of it.

I'll have to check out LV for my bride. Thanks for the review, Katie.

  • @Kerosenetrewthe Calamity J is for sure unisex. I like that you call your wife your "bride". Does she call you her "groom"? Not quite the same ring to it.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Groom would be nice....I get called other things! ahaha

  • I have 2 samples. One of lady vengance and one of miss charming. I can't decide.

I think I might choose lady vengance.

Just wish I had samples of the others ....

    Am I missing much?

  • @Sevipants19 Do you mean samples of the other Juliette Has a Gun perfumes? The other ones are pretty different to Miss C and Lady V. Citizen Queen heavy on the aldehydes, and a leather rose; Midnight Oud is rose/saffron/oud/geranium, a bolder, woodier rose; Calamity J doesn't have rose at all - it's patchouli and iris and amber - a soft, spicy number. They're all great, but I think my personal faves are Midnight Oud (I've got a bottle of that) and Lady V.

  • Awesome review! I'm drying to try this now. :)

  • Everything from the Juliette line smells really interesting, sort of traditional but with a twist, but Lady Vengeance resonates the most with me. It's so pretty without being frilly. I just got a sample of Calamity J, have you tried that one? It's sort of leathery tobacco-y vanilla on me, none of the rosiness that I expect from the Juliettes.

  • @35M40 I completely agree: "trad with a twist". I was just playing around with Calamity J today, and I'm not completely sold on that one. (You're right, no roses in this one.) It's the kind of smell I like, with the patchouli and amber and not too frilly-dilly girly, but it seems a bit unfinished, or not quite enough one thing or the other. I think I have perfumes in the same vein that I love more, so I'm probably not giving it enough of a chance!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Katie- I feel the same way about Calamity. I love to wear Back to Black with Calamity J. I like to spray a little Calamity on my neck and then spray some BTB on my arms. They smell amazing together.

  • @grandallegro Oh wow!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells did you try it? I love lady vengeance as well.

  • @grandallegro I've not tried it...yet.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells It smells like cozy yummy sexiness.

  • @grandallegro oooh!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells ooh la la!

  • eyebrow...

  • @tak4e4 and...?

  • I've been using my sample of Lady Vengeance from luckyscent for about a week now and I'm loving it! It's beautiful and sexy and fiance approved :op My sample is of the EDP, but there is also a perume oil (roller-ball) available. Have you tried it? If so, how different is it from the EDP concentration?

  • Bonus that the man likes it, too! I have tried the perfume oil version of Lady V, and I'm surprised to find that I prefer the EdP. The oil smells soapier, not as nuanced as the EdP.

  • Hmmm...soapier? I definitely don't want soapier! :op Looks like I'll stick to the EdP when I'm ready to buy a full bottle. My sample is almost out, so it'll be soon! Luckyscent doesn't offer samples of the perfume oil, so it's nice to be able to get insight from someone who has tried it. Thanks for the info Katie! :o)

  • Yeah, stick with the EdP!

  • I am a 21 year old college student and this sounds great for date night, but what I really want to know is if this can be an appropriate "day" fragrance? I'm thinking that I should maybe stick to Stella for my "day" rose, but I trust your perfume instincts more than my own : )

  • Hmm, good question! I just went to sniff my bottle of Lady Vengeance, and it does seem more of a "production" than a casual, everyday scent. But it's not as hoop-de-doo as something big like Dior Hypnotic Poison or Gucci Rush or that ever-lovin' Angel, God bless 'er! When in doubt, a lighter application for daytime is a safe bet. But day or night, Lady V is beautiful!

  • If you don't overdose it, it will be just fine;). I'm wearing Lady Vengeance right now (for the firt time) and it doesn't smell too "heavy". Or maybe it's just on my skin... Try to test it, then you'll know:).

  • Thank you for making me discover Estée Lauder Amber Ylang-Ylang, Katie. I love it. I also really like Carolina Herrera's HC, but it disappears on me after a while...or maybe I just stop smelling it. Do you know HC? And, admit it...you were an English major! :)

  • So glad you love Amber Ylang-Ylang! Not to be a devil, but the pure parfum is divine!

    No, don't know HC.

  • were can i bye that perfume?

  • Hi kat - check out my comment above for where to buy!

  • were can u find this perfume?i want it baddd

  • You can get it online at LuckyScent. And check the JulietteHasaGun website for stores.

  • thx 4 the friend request

  • god, this sounds delicious(-ly scandalous)!! i want!!

  • Is this in the same note family as Youth Dew or Poison??

  • Lady V has a completely different make-up to Youth Dew or Poison. Youth Dew is a spicy oriental with cinnamon & clove mixed in with rose, moss, amber & patchouli. Poison is a loud floral oriental: tuberose & jasmine. Both are very strong. Lady Vengeance is much softer and sweeter than either - and also simpler. It's a buttery rose with lightly smoky patchouli, and has a more youthful feel.

  • Ha Ha Ha

    You should be making movies.

    What a visual!

Another one I am going to sample

  • Hey there! It's been a while, I know.

Lately, I have been craving a new rose fragrance, and one of the candidates is Lady Vengeance. Although I loved your review, now I am wondering whether I can pull this one off or not. I have not sampled it yet, but... Dita von Teese? all curves, no survivors? Well, this promises to be a definite 'no' or something very kinky... rose poivree kind of kinky >:D

Cheers from a fellow fumehead :)

  • I'm not convinced Lady V is quite right for Les Dudes - the patchouli isn't assertive enough to take the rose & caramel into Man Land. And whether or not it's "kinky", it certainly isn't TDC Rose Poivrée "stinky": no body-odor intrigue for this Lady! If you've been craving a new rose, might I direct you to Czech & Speake Dark Rose, recently reissued? And I'm hot to trot for my latest score, People of the Labyrinths A*MAZE parfum. And I can't wait to smell the new JHG, Midnight Oud!

  • Wow! this makes me want to buy this perfume! hahahaha!

This line made me want to buy one! "all curves..no survivors" hahahaha!

  • I enjoyed watching this video. You can bring a sense of personality and character to these fragrances beyond anything I would have imagined, as a man.

  • Thanks for saying so!

  • it would be awesome if you could try and review some victoria secret perfumes! they have a new collection of 3 called lace, cashmere and satin

  • Thanks for the tip!

  • The only Juliette Has A Gun I've tried is Miss Charming, which was pretty, but rather dull. How does Lady Vengeance compare to L'Artisan Voleur de Roses (which I find a bit too harsh)?

  • I agree with you on Voleur de Roses - I love the idea of rose, plum and patchouli, but with VdR the execution is a bit thin - maybe more of a sketch for a future fragrance. Lady Vengeance is much more buttery, lush and feminine than VdR. There's a gourmand aspect to it, whereas VdR stays firmly on the woody side of the rose.

Miss Charming is VERY pretty, but it doesn't have the sultry swagger of Lady Vengeance, that's for sure!

  • do you know where i can get this perfume? it sounds perfect for me!

  • Lady Vengeance is available online at LuckyScent, and for European shops, check the Juliette Has a Gun website.

  • all curves and no survivors.....sounds like a story in itself! Best Wishes!

  • Hmm ... for some reason - the description of this kinda reminds me of my new perfume I just bought. While I know the two smells of these are different.. the images are kinda similar in my mind.

If you could do a review of Paco Rabanne's Black XS for Her, I would be very pleased indeed ;)

    Thanks Katie =D

  • Hi, Katie--

    Your hair looks cute.

Wow, after hearing the description of this perfume, I want to buy a corset. I think I know what my next lucky scent order will be.

I have a dirty little secret to confess. I've never actually bought a perfume from LS, just samples. I realize it's more expensive in the long run, but I'm just not ready to commit yet, and there's such a big fragrance world out there to see!

  • I was just in the LuckyScent shop today - Scent Bar. You are so right that there's a big fragrance world out there - I think I sprayed about 5 things on me! And it was my second perfume store of the day. I had to have a bath to wash the first perfume shop's findings off of me!

  • Haha I LOVE the name of this perfume.....I have to try it

  • uuuu! ♥ I definitely want to smell too...

...the perfume i mean. *ahem* '¬¬

  • Wow! Now I want to smell this fragrance!!

  • I loved this review, so I went out and bought the perfume. After smelling it, of course.

Point being, I have an inkling you could make carpet interesting desirable. Or TV stands. Or plastic folders.

    And basically I think you're ace :D

  • Thanks! Stay tuned for my Plastic Folder channel....;-)

  • Lady Vengeance makes be think of Zacky from Avenged Sevenfold :''D

  • ps. because of the name :)

  • Hey, can you recommend any incense based scents [ which doesn't smell too dirty hippy] thanks!!

  • Incense is my absolute favorite perfume note, so I really enjoyed answering this question. Let me know if any of these grab you.

  • Whee!! thanks, I'll try em all and let ya know!

  • Full-on incense: Comme de Garçons Incense series (try all 5) Annick Goutal Encens Flamboyant (smoky, rich) LArtisan Parfumeur Passage dEnfer (sharp, clean) Giorgio Armani Onde Mystère (deep, rich) Etro Messe de Minuit (dank, spiced-orangey) Incense as supporting player: Miller Harris Fleur Oriental (a less vanilla Shalimar with more incense) Kenzo Amour Indian Holi (cherry & musky) Lolita Lempicka Fleur de Corail (woody, sweet, hint of nag champa) Prada Infusion d'Iris (subtle, light)
  • Hey Katie! Do you have any recommendations for a vanilla scent that isn't too sugary sweet or too little girl? I love Bath and Body Works' Vanilla Noir, but their scents just vanish within the hour...

    <3!

  • Kenzo Amour edp would be my top choice for you. This is a sensual, vanilla-based oriental with womanly depth.

A more gourmand vanilla is the arm-lickingly beautiful Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum Parfum du Soir, with a powdered almond note along with deeper woods.

The vanilla I own is L'Artisan Parfumeur Vanilia, a smoky, almost ashy cotton candy.

And you might try Lady Vengeance - not a pure vanilla, but vanilla's a key player, along with the rose and patchouli.

  • Have just discovered some great straight-ahead vanillas for you that I'm excited about by La Maison de la Vanille. The whole line does vanillas beautifully, without that artificial or plasticky smell vanilla fragrances can sometimes have. My favorites are:

Vanilla Sauvage de Madagascar (perfect grown-up vanilla, not too sugary)

Vanille Givrée des Antilles (vanilla with some soft woody florals)

  • You are absolutely amazing, Miss Puckrick! Thank you so much. I plan to seek out the Madagascar, Antilles, and the Loukhoum Parfum du Soir!

Thank you so much for all the thought you've put into this!

  • No problem - it was a fun homework assignment!

  • I've gotten the sample sizes of nearly all your suggestions from LuckyScent. I'm looking forward to them arriving!

  • You have such a treat in store for you!

  • Last night I was at Sephora, and I wanted to actually smell all these scents you described. What I was not expecting was to fall in love! On the bottom shelf, hiding away, was Lolita Lempicka. Have you tried this one? I sprayed it on my skin and it was AMAZING. It smells as whimsical as the bottle appears, and surprise surprise - One of the key notes is vanilla! It also has a light musk to it, and a tangy hint of anise under the violet and iris. Classic, but not dated!

  • Always happy to hear when people fall in fume-love! Lolita Lempicka is a quirky modern classic, and I didn't think to recommend it to you because the anise and complexity takes it further away from your Bath & Bodyworks Vanilla Noir starting point. But I'm glad you discovered this one.

Another more classic amber/vanilla I wanted to point you towards is Estée Lauder Amber Ylang-Ylang.

  • Fabulous review. *No survivors* Brilliant!

  • thankyou :O)

  • Wow! You REALLY made me want to buy this one!

  • Oh Myyyy! This was quite the tribute!

  • I'm so gonna buy this! :3

  • Oooh... iiiinteresting!! I want to try it now!

  • "Lady Vengeance is a bombshell fragrance: all curves, no survivors."

Your reviews are so concise, polished, and energetic. I don't know how you come up with such fabulous metaphors, but they sure do work! :)

  • Glad to tickle your pickle!

  • LOL!

  • Best Perfume ever, strange name though

  • I know, right?!

  • I want it!!!!

  • mmmm sounds amazing! i'm gonna have to go get this now! =)

  • that look so pretty

  • ooh, that perfume looks niiice. ^^ ... gash, I want it.

  • Love rose! I might have to get that one, thanks for the lovely review :)

  • are you going to do a give-away on this one?!

  • Yes!!! Probably starting in 2 weeks' time. Stay tuned...

  • Hi Katie, do you know if this one is available in Europe as i don't think ive seen it before...thanks

  • Look at the Juliette Has a Gun website for all European outlets.

  • I love your exuberance for the odorous lines I've never knew existed! I will definitely try this scent and others after watching these vids. Thank you, thank you.

  • Happy to spread my fume-obsession!

  • i wants some what shops sell it in the uk??

  • Selfridges sells Lady Vengeance in the UK.

  • the packaging looks manly :S

  • It's hard to tell from the pic, but I've got a bottle here, and it's actually really beautiful and feminine, in a goth kind of way. The bottle itself is heavy matte black ceramic with shiny curly-cues all over it. The bottom has an etched-out indentation, and the cap is solid glass with "Juliette Has a Gun" etched into it. The whole bottle feels heavy and expensive.

  • I own this perfume and love it to pieces. Thank you for the review.

  • It's so yum, right? And how funny that you're "bombshellness", and I called Lady V a "bombshell perfume"!

  • Another great review. :)

  • i want to buy everything you say...lol...i don't know where to get it or why i need it but i want it hahahahahaha love ya'!

  • Ha-ha! I'm just instilling the craving wherever I go!

You can definitely get the Juliette Has a Gun line at the LuckyScent website.

And don't tell anyone, but I'm going to do a Juliette Has a Gun giveaway soon...shhhhhhhh!

  • this sounds perfect for me

  • Yummy - love all the stinky smelly stuff. Be lost without it.

Love it - no survivors! Bring it on! :)

  • I love how you do your videos. They're so fun to watch even though I'm not a total perfume addict. <3

  • I never smelled it.. and now I kind of want to buy it :P I'll check it out next time when I'm at Douglas..

  • wow what a great review i wanna get some!!!!!

  • thank you

i saw a review on thsi in a magazine and was tempted to try it out

now im definately gonna give this a go

  • hmm, would u be willing to review the Versace "crystal noir" fragrance? would love to hear your take on it =) thanks!

  • I love Angel. I have to go and smell this scent.

  • great perfumes, what do u recommend for guys ??

  • Hi there - check out my response above to EpicRegret - got a lot of great choices that might tickle your fancy.

  • Also, Comme des Garçons has an amazing array of woody and incence fragrances. You'll find this line at Barneys, smaller specialist shops and online.

  • your reviews are like poems

    loves it

    <3

  • What a nice compliment!

  • you made me wanna buy it.. and the way u described white oud by montale or flower by kenzo oh my god!right on the money! reason i mentioned those 2 cuz they're the only ones i own of the stuff u reviewed!

  • You are absolutely amazing! I have never seen anyone describe a scent so precisely as you do!

I have a few of the perfumes that you reviewed and you hit the target on all of them! THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the amazing reviews!

  • Gosh, thanks! It's nice to know that our noses are on the same wavelength...

  • Yep, im going to have to go out and try this one myself too! :) Thanks Katie

  • Wow,, I am truely going to try This one,, it sounds Fab,,,,,Thank you Katie Xx

  • Hi Katie!! Great video!!

  • I totally need to get this scent

  • I'm definitely gonna try this one out.

Sounds like the perfume everybody will go "It's definitely my type of perfume".. :)

  • Goodness! This is officially the perfume for me!

=D I MUST try this, and I dearly hope it works with my skin.

Do you have any sugestions for other perfumes similar to Lady V?

  • Lady Vengeance is a rose/patchouli sweetened with a bit of caramel. In the same ballpark are:

    Stella McCartney Stella (less sultry)

    Agent Provocateur ("dirtier", more womanly)

    Rochas Tocade (sweeter)

    Niche bunnies can investigate:

    Indult Manakara

    Parfumerie Generale Brulure de Rose

  • Stella McCartney Stella (less sultry) was my fav but I was told it was discontinued in europe (where I live) :(

  • I wore Stella to a store and a guy said, "Your perfume really smells good." As I was leaving he said, "I mean... it REALLY smells good." He was not interested in my type so I know it was not a come on but the perfume. You can get it from Sephora if they ship overseas.

  • I'll try that. That perfume just makes me feel sexy, it changes the way I look at people even... Perfume is a very poweful thing and that one to me, is magic :)

  • I agree that perfume can really change your mood, your outlook, even your "power". It's kind of incredible.

  • yes and since stella is kind of a velvety rose scent that not the "old lady rose perfume" it makes people feel warm inside and sexy on the outside. I'm glad stella is on your "to do" list. What about YSL Baby Doll? Do they still make it? I used to love it nearly as much as I love stella

  • I've seen YSL Baby Doll around, but haven't smelled it yet.

  • give it a try, it smells like straberry candy.

  • This is my usual summer fragrance. Very fresh but not overly sweet IMO.

  • What a result with Stella!

  • I'd love to hear you review Stella

  • Stella is definitely on my "to do" list. I've got a whole bunch of goodies lined up to review.

  • Wanted to mention that you can find Lady Vengeance online at LuckyScent.

  • cooooool love the sound of thos one :0)

    xxxJoolsxxx

  • i gotta try this! thanks for the review katie!

  • Okay...you really made me want to try this one o.o

    You're reviews are always fantastic.

  • Perfect timing, just looking for a good review and here you are! Katie Puckrik smells! I usually don't do rose... you just made this sound so tantalizing!

I may go smell Lady Vengeance!

  • Quick question I forgot...would u by any chance know which male cologne is the best?

I've ran out of my Abercrombie Fierce (Propaganda cologne i know whaha) but I need something different...any suggestions?

  • Good on ya for branching out. Here's a bunch of things I love smelling - try them out and see which suits you: Woody scents: Hermès Terre d'Hermès Annick Goutal Encens Flamboyant Christian Dior Homme Tom Ford For Men Extreme Chanel Égoïste (not the Platinum version) Ormonde Jayne Ormonde Man Prada Infusion dIris: marketed for women, but its very unisex, I prefer it to mens version Bulgari Black Kenzo Air
  • Fresher scents:

    Hermès eau dOrange Verte

    Clinique Happy for Men

Chanel Allure for Men Edition Blanche

    Aveda Pure-formance for Men

  • Another great fresh one:

Hermès Un Jardin en Méditerranée (usually found with women's fragrances, but very unisex)

  • Thank you soo much!! I'll take a look at the all the ones u recommended. Thanks!

    Luv ur videos!

  • thank you.

  • I luv ur videos!!! I still wish i could've won the Gwen contest hahaha...

    anyway...good review!

    thanks!

  • Thanks

  • I would love to try this one ...

  • Lol thanks for this :D
