You have to remember that the story was first reported as a missing persons case or perhaps a runaway bride. Remember the runaway bride from a few years ago who was white. I don't believe that Annie was an immigrant, she was a citizen of the United States. I also don't believe she was ever all that poor, more like middle class. He was only a person of interest in the first week. Once he became the prime suspect and the DNA matched I think the talked about Clark constantly,i.e. interviewing his former girlfriend, former classmates and the tenants who lived in the same building he did. We don't receive CNN International on America, however, the local CNN talked about Clark all the time and I didn't notice that he got any special attention,mnay people called him a creep or white trash.

Poor asian -american male would be vilified as losers, idiots, geeks they would be called every name under the sun by white trools on cyberspace/news media outlets. I don't see any comments coming from whites condemning the murderer. Just another reason for me to stay the hell away from double talking westerners and it's countries.

He was only a person of interest in the first week. Once he became the prime suspect and the DNA matched I think the talked about Clark constantly,i.e. interviewing his former girlfriend, former classmates and the tenants who lived in the same building he did. We don't receive CNN International on America, however, the local CNN talked about Clark all the time and I didn't notice that he got any special attention,mnay people called him a creep or white trash.

Yes sure, it's tragic I know. But can someone explain why this was treated like Princess Diana by the press? I mean, she's bot celebrity, the killer was not celebrity. She's a minority woman & historically the national press doesn't give a damn about non-white women victims. What made this murder so newsworthy?

This story received much notarity by the press because you wouldn't associate this type of horrific violence on an Ivy League campus such as Yale. I think the fact that Annie happened to be Asian is irrelevant, the story would of been covered wether she was white, black, asian, purple oro whatever. In addition the story line had a lot to do with the coverage, she was supposed to be married the following weekend made it a relevant story for the press. Also the barbaric nature of the crime,.

I agree that the reason this case recieved so much notarity was because it was on an ivy league campus but i disagree with you that it would have recieved so much attention if the person was black. Most not all but most of society could care less about horrific acts of violence taken againsts blacks, ie, marrion albert, omar edwards, Rev.Carol Daniels not to mention the countless black children that go missing every year that never get as much (if any) media attention as missing white children.

You might be right insofar as some crimes receive more media attention than others. I would have to say that some of the horrific crimes that are being committed on the Westside ans southside of Chicago are receiving a lot of media attentin right now.

I think this story received so much attention from the news media because it was such a barbaric crime. It's one thing to be killed from gun shot wounds, however, to be killed by strangulation and how long this girl must of suffered during her final minutes is beyond anything I could imagine. In addition you wouldn't think such a crime could be committed on campus at an Ivy League College like Yale.The fact that she was engaged to be married within a week of her disappearance made it a big story

Damn that kid is a poignant scribe for his age - and pls. save the rude response comments for someone else. I'm well aware of the power a tragic loss in the family can do to sharpen the senses. Just still not sure at his age, if the shoe were on the other foot, would I be as well equipped to express myself on the national "stage" as well as he did. May she rest in peace!

Seriously, death of some brain washed vietnamese is more important than health care reform? This is nothing new, many asian woman are being abused, murdered by white males. How does a story like this became a top news in america? It was on CNN international for a week straight. What about that poor 20 something korean mother in california who was MURDERED by LAPD last year? What, that story didn't fit the CNN's agenda since she was married to a korean male?

I agree with you that life is random and none of us know when we will end up the victim of a horrific crime like poor Annie. What I do understand is that "he who sheds mans blood shall his blood be shed, an eye for an eye. This was a brutal barbaric crime committed against this young lady. This poor young lady suffered emense pain during her final moments. Richard Clark has got to be the biggest fucking coward on the face of the Earth. Hopefully the other prisoners will eventually wack him good.

That's the reason why Clark's isolated from the rest of the prison pop. .. or from what I heard. If the other prisoners found out what he's in for (& I'm pretty much sure they know by now, they would make his time behind bars a living hell. Richard Clark...a true example of White Trash (no offense to any Whites reading this).

You're 100% correct dwoodard 78, Clark once convicted will most likely spent the rest of his life in solitary confinement because he wouldn't last a minute in the general population. Even hardened criminals have a code ot ethics on the type of crimes that have been committed.
