Video too short! Chris Youdell from Analog Modular told me that a guy found one of these in a flea market for $250 in 1995. It didn't have the keyboard, and nobody knew what the hell it was.
cause no big market, to expensive to make aswell. and whats being marketed is what sells, not necesserly the best or coolest things.
look like the new fully analogs thats come out like the Andromeda and the new minimoogs- theyre are so much "cleaner" (i like fat and dirty like this) in sound cause thats what they wnat to market. create a need. its all bollox...join a diy-club and make youre own synths or ssave up to one of the old monsters (they havent really gone down in price over the years)
@Synthfool What type of restoration did u do on this???. and the reason i ask is because i wouldn't think it would be possible,i'm told the thing is all potted modules like the ARP 2500,however there is a company who has replacement modules for it,because they sell a modular based on all those potted modules, but Emu has been out of the modular bussiness for years,so how would u replace the potter modules???.
love it!! but I wish it were longer tho

Lucky stiff, huh?

Stiff, yes. Lucky no.
That person died at 35 of brain cancer.

Oh geez...that's too bad. I suppose there's always a trade-out for luck...in that case, it would be easy to say it was the E-mu Modular.

Synthfool Acid. Wicked. I wonder if that one single empty slot is distracting for the owner.
destruktobot 3 years ago
It was just being tested when this video was taken.
All slots were filled upon delivery, including another cabinet that same size.
Thanks for watching! :)

@Synthfool Where did you get it and how much?
Jamiejetsun 1 year ago
It's not mine.
I'm a synth tech and was restoring it.
I got it from the client that owns it.
I have no idea how much he paid.

@myleftnutts
The submodules are not completely potted.
Only the PCB section area.
The shells they're encased in are otherwise hollow and the components are usually readily accessible from their top side.
Crack off a case and you may well be able to repair some problems.
Early Arps did encase their submodules in hard epoxy and are almost impossible to repair.
Later Arps used soft silicone rubber inside and can often be completely removed from their casing.

lyokofans 3 years ago
I think it's a nice noise. His problem.
Next video? I don't know.
It wasn't my Emu and it's gone now.
But I have a Roland System 700 and a Gleeman Pentaphonic here now anyways.
Thanks for watching. :)

monsterslovesushi 4 years ago
I won't record the sound with the built in mic when you buy me a camera with an external input.
:)
Synthfool 4 years ago
k
else you should record the audio on your computer and then sync sound and video on a little editing software using a clap. :P
;)

Computer in one room. Synth in the other.
Not a performance piece. I'm a tech.
These are just tests. :)

Thats because you aren't smart enough to understand the beauty of the "noise"

It was just an wordplay of the word "nice" with an accent. So actually I meant nice... talking about being smart ;)
