Oh, God. I cannot watch this. I was watching the televised race when Ruffian went down. No one is the room spoke, but everybody sobbed. In fact, I had a new puppy, and I was going to name her "Ruffian," but my step-daughter cried, and I changed the name. Thank you for remembering this outstanding filly. She was, indeed, a true champion.
Ruffian was the best racehorse to ever live I think if only she would have lived I wonder the baby her and secretariat would have maid :) what a amazing animal she was
@nicoleinfinger Secretarit was I think related to her I think her grandpa! There for that 100% explanes for her GREATNESS! She was AMASEING! I also think she was the best race horse that has ever lived. RIP <3 we love you Ruffian! <3 amen
@horsetrixs No. She was sired by a son of Bold Ruler, but it wasn't Secretariat. Her mother was a daughter of Native Dancer. I guess you would say that Big Red was her uncle.
