@Qzyxya Is the lever broken? Yu should be able to close the back door on the battery still.. then plug it in.

@PointOfViewCameras Sorry, could you explain more? On mine, there is a little plastic floppy cover thing that covers the microSD slot, hte USB slot, and the battery slot/opening. It has the on button thingy. There is no other way to keep the battery in since the springs at the bottom of the hole - near the gold connector things - push the battery out.

It wont charge unless the battery is in fully, i.e. when the door is closed, or something is holding it down. Is there some other door I use?

I was successful using some duct tape to tape an eraser cap from a pencil on top of the battery to keep it down. Worked, but was a real pain. Any ideas? My brother bought it off amazon back in November on sale so I doubt the warranty is still good...

@PREDATORVB Yes you can, it has to be a Contour charger though. Any aftermarket charger wont do it.

The lasers go off automatically. They come on during power up and can be turned back on by a short push to the power button to give you extra time to line up the camera.

@1redneckdodgeman It will fit the helmet no problem, and should be able to mount to the gun. it has a special mount for assault riffles so it should work for the pain ball gun.

However, paintball offers the potential for some high velocity impacts. Because of the number of variables associated with a paintball impact (load weight, muzzle velocity, range, deflection angle, etc.), Contour does not warrant the ContourHD1080p against paintball impacts.

It should fare well, but if it takes a point blank shot... it could do some damage.

Iv just ordered one and i was thinking because i will be recording alot is there any way i can have my laptop on my back in my bag and hardwire the Contour HD to it so it records straight to my hard drive?

@TheeNinja250R - No, it will only record to the SD card, however with the ability to house a card up to 32 GB, you can get a pretty good amount of recording done... and just make sure you bring extra cards!

What is all underneat the back flap, I know the battery, memory card and usb plug in are there, but are there any switches or anything? You said their is a high and low switch, but since there are 4(?) recording modes I am wondering if I can do these on the fly or I need to have it plugged into my computer to change settings.

@anonnamous43 You can have two of your favorite modes programmed on the resolution switch.

Default resolutions are HI: 1920 x 1080 at 30fps and LO: 1280 x 720 @ 60 fps.

Alternate Resolutions are: 1280x960 at 30fps, 720x1280 at 30fps, and 848 x 480 at 60 fps.

i need some help i just got a contourHD 1080p on saturday and only used it 4 times to test it. each time was like a 1 min clip just to see the quality then i turned it off put it on the charger and went to bed now since then it wont turn on iv held the button down for a long time iv tried just clicking it and waiting put nothing and i know the battery is full because when i plug it in, it flashes green or yellow and then turns of nothing after that and i can see it on my computer. please help.

I'm trying to decide between the ContourHD 1080p and the GoPro 1080p, we will be using it for streetluge (please see my most recent videos for examples of what we shoot)... We want to mount cameras on the boards as well as helmets... What camera gives the best quality as well as easiest to mount etc?

Both are great cameras with good picture quality and mounting flexibility. ContourHD1080p has adjustable exposure and mic gains (among other things) which could come in very handy if you plan to film in low / bright light conditions and different speeds or wind conditions.

Thanks for the quick reply. We've since seen a direct comparison video between the GoPro HERO 1080p and the ContourHD 1080p on Engadget... The ContourHD it is! We've also had a hands on feel of the ContourHD 720 and the GoPro SD. The ContourHD wins in terms of design, but what was most suprising was the weight of the ContourHD; even with battery it's light as a feather! The GoPro was winning on viewing angle, but since seeing comparison, not anymore.

Will look out for your own comparison.
