  • will this work on a laptop?

  • thats a very nice video card you have there... -_- heh heh heh GT430 really?

  • Why can't you use 1080p?

  • All done and streaming mate thanks heaps! :>

  • Ive heard they dont work with a laptop

  • @Endlessglitcher yep they probably wont considering that you have too install it using a sata cable, (or something along those lanes) which are only found inside desktops.

  • Do u have a desktop or laptop

  • The page you link can't be found, for the drivers.

  • is there any alternative for blackmagic, a dazzle but uses hdmi cables. i dont have a PC just laptop. its an ok laptop hd windows 7 all that jazz. whats the most simplest capture card to record gaming?? i dont wana do all that tricky shit . just click record . stop . done . edit. upload to youtube.

  • I cannot select compressed at all. No option appears

  • I've heard that the Intensity Pro doesn't work with i7 processors. Is this true?

  • What the fu.... can you make a video describing how you hooked it up? I am totally lost, or can you send me a link to a video that explains it?

  • @JaYCoBStudio It can capture 1080p but it looks better 720p and youtube supports better 720p. Correct me if im wrong but i think so

  • @EpiicBananaX i'd assume this is because 90% of games on 360 are natively 720p, not because the intensity pro is bad at 1080p or because YouTube likes 720p better.

  • When i install the new desktop video 9.0 my computer becomes extremely laggy plus media express shows a black screen can you help me please? my specs are below.

Intel Core i3 2100 Dual core 3.1GHz (acts as a quad)

    8GB DDR3 RAM

    1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0GB/sec

    Intel H61 motherboard chipset

    integrated intel hd graphics 2000

  • hi i thought the black magic captured full 1080p so how come you have to capture at 720p ?

  • @JaYCoBStudio Legal issues.

  • Would you be able to play from your computer screen, is there a lag? Or is an external monitor required for better gameplay experience??

  • Great Video m8. I'll be getting a Black Magic for Christmas!:)

  • does black magic intensity pro work on windows

  • I'm looking all over and I can't find any BMIP Drivers to download, please update your video or someone help me. They've changed their website and the software download area is gone now.

Anyone know where I can get the drivers?

  • @Sanelylnsane got to their website and put your product info in and when it takes you to the page to download look toward the bottom for Archive drivers. I couldnt post the link for some reason it was giving me an error code

  • Can i ask because i was told it might not fit will this work in a Acer Predator GT900 Gaming Computer?

  • does this work with a laptop instead of computer?

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I had a black screen problem when trying record, it was the frame rate! THANK YO SO MUCH! you saved my life! <3

  • Think these specs are decent enough? PS: Stupid question but I heard you had to have two harddrives :x

    Intel i5 Quad Core 2400 @ 3.10GHz

    1TB HDD

    8GB Samsung DDR3 RAM

    NVIDIA GTX560Ti

    ASUS P8H67-M LX SI:

  • is it possible to record in 1080P?

  • when i click on support it said download sdk disc and my page is diffrent

  • I'm confused... I have an hdmi cable that I use for my 360 and all I have other than that are composite cables :( Can I use this or do I need to by the RGB cables?

  • Very helpful, thanks alot bud.

  • Okay pretty much everytime I turn on my Xbox it doesn't load, the green light just stays on and I can't connect my controller. Also when I turn it off my computer freezes. I have the latest 3.9.4 Intensity drivers and 2.3 Media Express. Also when I try to change the input on my computer from vga to hdmi, it stays at hdmi for a few seconds and goes back to vga. Anyone know a solution to this?

  • What is the background you're using?

  • I heard that you need the HDMI splitter if you want to play Xbox/PS3 with the computer not on.

  • hi, nice tut but im not sure whether or not this woyld work on my pc

    it is a HP a6455.uk

    Processor - AMD Phenom X4 9500

    Ram - 3GB

Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce 8400

can you tell me if it would work, and also if you install it can you take it out again?

  • what pc will i need to record im looking at a good pc to recored with my blackmagic do you have any suggestions :)

  • @TheRELIK101 Any Dell Inspiron MINI or FULL SIZE, NOT slim.

  • If I try this, will I need a TV at all because I don't have one at the moment.?

  • PLEASE ANSWER !!!!

i am thinking about getting this product

    i have 2 questions

    1. does it work for ps3?

2.does the HDMI output work ?

    sorry for the noobie questions

  • @Z0MBI3K1LL45 I've read that it does not work for PS3.

  • @AprilFools1993 yes it works

  • Which monitor do you use that uses HDMI Cable?

  • can i use the same with intensity shuttle?

  • Does i my PC have to have a USB 3.0 ?

  • Does it have HDMI - in and out - so you can play at 1080p...Xbox360 ??

    How large are the files?

Could i run it swiftly on a 3.0ghz Hex core, 8GB ddr3ram and an Nvidia geforce GTX 570?

    Thanks!

  • i couldn't find out from the video but is it possible with this card to get both the video from the hdmi source and the audio from the breakaway cable so i can have audio coming out from a mixer going in seperately so i can capture gameplay and my lapel mic in one video so i don't have to edit anything? that my setup now with the HDPVR but now that i have a windows machine next to my TV i figured i'd try to go for a higher quality setup.

  • Can I do this on a 3.0GHZ Dual Core, 3.25 GB RAM, NVIDIA 8800 with ~500gb HD?

  • One question, does using HDMI with xbox 360 allow for 1080p recording?

  • What's Better? HDVR from Hauppage or The BlackMagic Intensity Pro?

for Montage and stuff + HD recording.

What's the best, Please help me

  • @TechnicHD i have the exact specs as you!!!

  • @TechnicHD

The BMIP will not work well on that rig.

  • so you need two hdmi cables for this to work?

  • so will this plug into a PCI x1 slot. and doesnt it come with the recording software?

  • Thank you for this tutorial. My recordings have no sound, anyway you can help? I thought both video and sound were going through HDMI.

  • Great video :) and everyone this video is so easy to follow how do you guys get lost lol

  • @ViKTiMxPaNiK

I got trouble witht the software...

  • So what is this thing? Is it a separate video card with an HDMI input port? Secondly, can this be used to view TV on your PC via HDMI? If so, what software do you use for viewing? Would I still use Windows Media Center (which I dislike) or what?

  • please can you help me, ive just updated my drivers but for some reason in the download i dont get Media Express v1?

This is the only thing i can reacord with...

  • Can you use the capture card on a laptop ive got a macbook the white 4gb one an all these videos im seeing seem to be only used with pc's can you not do this on a laptop some how somebody please get back to me ASAP!!

  • THANK U SO MUCH!!!

  • how do i get the media express that you have the one with the blue icon

  • Comment removed

  • so what does the breaker cable do?

  • does the xbox put out audio through the HDMI and audio attachment at the same time

  • Is there an option to select the microphone port on the computer as the input audio? I want to use a mixer to mix the microphones and game video as one, is it possible?

  • You clever bastard! XD

Been looking everywhere on how to use my monitor with this thing, thanks a lot! :DD

  • I don't have blackmagic Media Express. Unless that is the media express you were talking about in the video. Then my problem is fixed.

  • Is there any way to get 1080p

  • it shows up on my pc not not my tv

  • Which is better, the PVR or Black Magic Intesity Pro?

& will this work with any computer?

  • what input do i need on my laptop for it to work? i have usb and hdmi so it should work.

  • my program is the newer one, where there is no record button and can't be minimized, and it doesn't have as much options, so it just lags, all my vids are laggy, what setting should I use?

  • do u need 2 hdmis??

and is it xbox - hdmi (1) - capture card - hdmi (2) - tv???

and how do u connect the capture card to the mac?? finally what is DVI??

    thanks :)

  • What do you need to start this because I'm thinking about buying one.

  • can you record 1080p??

  • got it to work finally on one monitor switching back and forth, your directions are confusing though. i didnt have an HDMI connection for my old monitor i used my tv monitor instead ,i didnt know it would be so clear with HDMI glad i did this.

  • Your voice is calm and crisp thats cool

  • this is the way i where looking for!!!

    Thank you

  • So you don't have a Raid0 and 4 array? I am thinking about buying one, and do I have to record in 1080 if my monitor is 1080?

  • is the black magic intensity shuttle the same thing as the black magic intensity pro?

  • @L96A1Twitch shuttle is an external usb 3.0 device... pro is the pci-express device

  • @infamousdx sorry just need you to explain. so which is the one people use to record xbox 360 gameplay and edit it on their computer?

  • Comment removed

  • So you can't play the xbox on a 1080p tv and record using the Intensity? I have to play at 720p?

  • what are you using to record your screen?

  • so all i need is 2 hdmi cables? 1 that goes from my xbox to my black magic, and one that goes from the black magic output into my tv. please anwser

  • Considering purchasing this capture card, but I'd like to know if you can use to capture gameplay footage from an Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and also from the PC I have the capture card in. These are the three devices I want to record footage on, can the Intensity capture from all three or just the home consoles?

  • @Nemphtis You don't need to have a capture card to record your PC. Just use a program like Fraps and you're good to go.

  • I cannot record in MJPEG for some reason. Either format I record in goes out of sync. Importing into Premiere, the video and sound are out of sync, and Premiere usually fails to export the video or freezes when editing. I love this card when it works, but it sure as hell goes the extra mile when it doesn't work. =(

Thank you for this video anyway. I did find it helpful.

  • get the averTv hd Card, Cost less.. and looks great. ( better than the Black magic )

  • @matthewsv123, which is better, this or using and HD PVR? kinda looking to get more into it but my lame capture card doesn't work

  • OK please answer this simple yet confusing question... When I record using this device i will have my 360 console connected to intensity, intensity connected to pc, and I will be able to view my gameplay on my television while it is recording right. so i can use my tv still???

  • what file format do you get whit this capture card ?

  • Do you know if Black Magic Intesity can be put in a laptop? I have the Acer Aspire 5251-1762 with Windows 7 and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Graphics.

  • This is a huge question for me. In order to get this I have to buy a whole new desktop which I can get for about $400 PLUS $200 for this. So should do that or just use my laptop and get an hd pvr????

  • whats the pegwin thing

  • @row907 linux

  • Some people have told me that if I get an HD capture card like this, I need a very powerful computer in order for it to work. Is this true?

  • @BIackVayne Its really good if you have knowledge in computer building. A computer bought from walmart will not be good enough at all. You need to know how to setup RAID to get the best quality out of it.

  • @RIEiiIGIN Well, my pc isnt from walmart, and its pretty solid in terms of RAM, Video capabilities, and processor speed, but its not a super computer. I just want to know that if I fork out the 300 bucks or so it is for this card, I'll actually be able to use the it.

  • @BIackVayne Yes. And the software that comes with it is solid enough. Is yours XP, Apple or Win 7? Doesn't matter, it works with them all.

  • does it matter if im using avi to my moniter from pc

  • hey i just got my xbox slim today with 2 hd cables and the problem i am having is it shows up on the media express but the tv screen is bright yellow... please help me fix this!

  • This is just based on using one monitor, but I'm still lost on the way you have it connected.

So, Xbox -> Intensity through input, then Intensity -> Monitor through output, but then it means you're only looking at xbox 360 through monitor, not allowing you to view PC, but you say it isn't connected to monitor.

Like I said, I'm a little lost. Can't visualize this, please explain :)

PS: wouldn't it be easier to split signal from xbox 360, one to a TV, other to intensity?

  • @SimplyWillz the Xbox doesn't physically connect to the monitor. the signal goes through to the computer (Intensity Pro = allowing you to view and record gameplay straight to a storage device) then from there the output goes to an output device, such as my monitor/tv. A splitter is only needed if you want to display the OUTPUT on different displays at the same time. Hope this clears things up. :)

  • @matthewsv123 Yes it does. Thanks.

  • @matthewsv123 I'm thinking about buying an intensity pro, and I have a similar question to the above one,I would preferably like to be able to use my monitor to play the game/s whilst recording them (I have my Xbox and my PC plugged into my monitor) my monitor doesn't have a HDMI port (I want to get an HD monitor in the future), so I bought the Xbox VGA cable, so how would that work would I have to get an HDMI to vga cable?

  • @SimplyWillz

You have the Intensity part right. He switches video port on his monitor to view PC screen. He has his PC hooked up to the same monitor via DVI, so he pushed the video input button on the monitor and switches from the HDMI port to the DVI port.

  • So let me get this straight, i need two HDMI cables

on For Xbox to PCI input and one from PCI to HDTV?

  • so can u play 360 without lag on pc like this :)

  • @nikolassj yes, but probably better if you just buy another HDMI cable and output to the HDTV. Its a lot bigger that way.

  • i dont think i have an available pci slot, is there a way i can use this at all?

  • @ShakinatorRocks No, you need for the Intensity a PCI-slot.

There is another Intesnity Product called "Shuttle" it captures via USB 3.0 if you have this. It is way better then the Intensity Pro, because you are able to capture in 1080p and via usb 3.0 you can capture 10 times faster...

  • hey, ive got a problem, please help:

    got this setup:

    PS3-HDMI-Intensity Pro

    Intensity Pro-HDMI-Monitor

    PC-DVI-Monitor

The BlackMagic is installed, so are the drivers, but when i go to my PS3, the screen goes black. Also at BlackMagic Media Express, in the capture screen, where you see your xbox screen, the screen is also black. what's wrong?

  • @TheAdaloudisMan The PS3 has copyright system on its HDMI output that means you can't capture through your HDMI, but you can capture with the included breakout cable

  • how much is this

  • @931jamesball about 199$

  • @CrOaTiAnBeAsT46 shop ebay. Bought mine for 150 there.

  • @matthewsv123 I've been trying this for at least a month now and can't get good video results. I'm using a desktop with Intel Dual-Core 2.93 ghz, 2GB RAM, Windows XP Pro, Media Express, 720p 59.94, JPEG Compression. The video is always choppy or out of sync and it drops tons of frames. The desktop has integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 graphics (512 MB) which I figure is the problem. Any ideas how I can fix this?

  • Do u have a raid setup? i was under the impression that you need a raid setup to use the intensity pro. Is this true? Will i be okay without a raid setup? If so will my quality suffer if i only have a 1tb 7200hdd.

  • @HDgameplay23 1TB should be plenty to record and save gameplay. RAID wont make a difference to the quality of your videos. That depends on the video quality recording settings via Blackmagics control panel.

  • @matthewsv123 Raid can higher the frame reates on which its recorded at and stop dropped frames

  • @matthewsv123 With a RAID system you are able to capture in Full HD 720p compressed. It's way better as uncompressed, but theses files are so big... It would kill your pc, if you haven't at least a quad core.

  • @matthewsv123 No, you are wrong. RAID 0 should be attempted when recording, the size of the HDD isn't the issue although yes 1 TB is ideal. You need the write speed that RAID 0 can get. That helps with not getting any dropped frames while recording. Just 2 drives in RAID 0 is good enough.

  • Does this work on a mac?

  • @KillUAllDudes yeah should do. go to blackmagic's website to see full details and specifications.

  • I play on a LCD monitor that is shared with a pc is there anyway to connect all of them with the black magic

  • because your xbox 360 isnt directly connected to your monitor, does that mean you experience any lag when you play? i.e. is there a delay because the signal travels through your computer??

  • @Thorpy2452 only if you view it from your desktop within your computers settings. you get a couple of milliseconds delay which is hardly noticeable. Otherwise you simply switch it over to the Xbox 360 channel on your tele/monitor and its perfect.

  • @matthewsv123 So the output on the Pro acts basically as a splitter, splitting it to the computer and the monitor. Using that, the only lag between the xbox and the screen is the screen's response time and nothing to do with the computer if you are using the original xbox 360 source on the monitor right?

  • Could this work for your TV if it has a DVI input for a computer?

  • @Sacrad10 I'll just save you the time and say it doesn't because I bought one hoping the same thing, my computer monitor had a DVI-D input and it didn't work but it worked on my TV via HDMI, I read more online and found out it is something to do with a problem outputting an RGB signal from the BMI pro...

Unless you get a pass through splitter or something like that which will cost another $40 and i'm not completely sure that'll work...
