The Dean Ross alias smear is a lie. Rossi used to tell a story that a dumb political consultant told him that he would have an easier time getting elected if he changed his name to "Dean Ross." Dino told him that was BS.

On a related note, Christine Gregoire would have an easier time getting elected if she changed her name to "Dino Rossi."
