  • While you shouldn't have read any of it at all- it makes it a little less painful when you can actually read...

  • @drummasterxxx LOLOL no offense to all the let's players that CAN'T xD

  • where I can get this version with the new codec portraits?

  • @WarioWare96 The bonus disc for the Subsistence version of MGS3.

  • @Tylinos you mean it is included in the MGS3 Subsistence game disc?

  • @WarioWare96 Subsistence came with 2 discs. The first had MGS3. The second had Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, and the original Metal Gear Online.

  • that means, that the the MGS HD collection will not include the disc with the original Metal Gears?

  • @WarioWare96 I don't know. They haven't said yet if it will or not.

  • @Tylinos On metal gear wikia it said that metal gear solid 3 substance in the HD collection will also include metal gear and metal gear 2 solid snake. Lets hope that stands true!

  • @MayorWest8 Hopefully.

  • man i hope this gets remade or ported to the ps vita. that would b cool!

  • What is PS vita ?

  • @filipeflower Sony's new handheld. Basically, it's the PSP2. It's expected to come out late this year or early next year.

  • @Tylinos i heard that mgs2 and mgs3 will be compatible for the vita with the new transfarring system that kojima made

  • @Tylinos

Hmm, i somehow regret i bought 3DS. Heard PS Vita is gonna be awesome :)

  • @TheAbridgedGamer It's still really early. It's hard to tell how either system will turn out. Heck, when the PSP came out, I bought it almost immediately because I thought it was going to be amazing, but it ended up having a pretty lame lineup for years, while the DS had a ton of good games. It's just still too early to tell if Vita and 3DS will end up the same as either the DS or the PSP.

  • @Tylinos

    That's true.

I've never had PSP but like the idea of transferring PS1 games from PS3 too it.

I liked DS, many awesome games :D

Only reason i bought 3DS was cause of Ocarina of Time.

And so far, it's a really amazing remake :D

hehe, but i get your point :)

  • @Tylinos

Well, not that i like PS3 that much, PS2 rocked, PS3 is just meh ok :P

    But that's just what i think :)

  • @Tylinos

    And thank you for uploading.

Really remember this game on MGS3 Suibstence, i dont know how to spell it XD

But hope this gets released on Arcade or PSN Store,

    many memories of this :D

  • isn't it supposed that snake lost his right eye... or left i don't remember, why is here with both eyes? (according with metal gear solid 3 snak eater)

  • @jvr3092 That was Naked Snake, also known as Big Boss, Solid Snake's "father".

  • @Tylinos ooh you are right i did not remember that... thanks :D

  • Hot damn this is dark.....

  • FOR GODS SAKE WE CAN READ

  • @isantamies2 I know, I know. I read the dialogue for fun.

  • @isantamies2 shut up i want to hear what he has to say.. maybe commentators have things the game doesnt say.. and tips and tricks... stfu bitch.. no one wants to watch someone play videos and not talk

  • @xraidedlok fuck of kid

  • @isantamies2 its off and im not a kid

  • less commenting more just game

  • even back then, kojima was making long ass cutscenes

  • @hadoolket ya that annoys the crap outta me

  • Perfet, This game and all games of mgs are a piece of art"

  • HEY I HAVE THE BLUEMSX EMULATOR AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO USE THIS, WHERE CAN I FIND A CONFIG FOR THE KEYBOARD MAN???

  • @brttn2294 I didn't use an emulator, so I wouldn't know.

  • Dude you do Solid Snake's Voice surprisingly well. You need to work on Campbell though. Although you don't have to read everything out loud. especially considering that everyone already knows what they sound like so they'll sound right in ppls heads as they read.

  • I dont mind walkthroughs with comments but dude we can see, there is no point saying the intro story along with the game... let us read...Oh I see that you speak the codec dialogues too...

  • @ChemistDrummer Welcome to the world of Let's Plays.

  • "Let's Plays" are not all the same, you know.

  • I dont mind walkthroughs with comments but dude we can see, there is no point saying the intro story along with the game... let us read...

  • Dam cool....anyone can tell me what console run this game?

  • @tingsh321 It came as a bonus on the second disc of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance for the PS2. That version of MGS3's probably getting kind of rare now, though.

  • No it was only in japan originally.

  • What you using to play this game?

  • @boxochamp4 A PS2. The game came as a bonus on the second disk of the Subsistence version of MGS3.

  • @Tylinos oh okay

  • i downloaded the nes version and it look way different wtf I thought it was the same?

  • i hate walkthrough commentary!!!

  • @cexpistol2 Then watch one without commentary...?

  • @Tylinos There isn't one...

  • @cexpistol2 There are plenty of silent walkthroughs. Besides, some people, like me, enjoy commentary.

  • damn dude you need to learn how to read

  • Nice impression of Snake, bad ass. xD

  • i would playit buti dont have the game or the system

  • Your Snake impression is pretty good! Every once in a while it sounds completely flawless, at first I thought this version has VOs.

  • @wearethearchers Wow, that's quite a compliment. Thanks.

  • its fun to see how the graphics evolved soo much

  • I think I'm crazy or what,I think the original MSX version of characters' head image of snake and big boss look like:(Movie actors.)

    Snake:Sylvester Stallone

    Big Boss:Sean Connery

  • @hateWinVista Snake was more modeled after Mel Gibson. The very detailed face graphic at the main menu is the best example.

  • @hateWinVista Sorry, it's not at the main menu, I guess I forgot where it was =S

  • lol the Snake voice doesnt annoy me at all! I'm glad your doing your pretty decent one than me have to do it in my head lol

  • you need a better mic. it sounds like you're narrating this stuff by whispering across an empty room

  • beest snake impression. "why in his molar teeth?"

  • For a game made in 1990, this game had SNES-style graphics.

9:07 It's possible that Big Boss ordered them not to.

  • The word you couldn't say is junta. It sounds like "hunt-ah."

  • I hope they Remake Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, in Mgs stile, now that we have played Snake as an old Soldier so many times, it would be cool to finaly see him as a young fighter.

Most of the fans only know Snake from Metal Gear Solid and during that game there is alot of references to both Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land, theres even an option in the main menu called previous missions were you can read about it.

Plus if they remake them they can bring alot of new fans to the series

  • Tylions it's not sarcasm i really do appreciate it

  • thank you for reading every thing they say i really appreciate it

  • @Jenetik1 This sounds suspiciously like sarcasm.

  • @Tylinos Even if it was, some people, like myself, enjoy that you did it. Thanks for this playthrough!

  • why couldnt they release this game in america in 1990?

  • dude u made the game fun with the codec voices well done

  • is for ssnes

  • Um, what?

  • @Tylinos jajaja sorry men

It is the version of ps2 ?

  • Yes.

  • I bet Hideo kojima put a picture of snake as a joke.

  • BJ2466 ,I'm sorry about replying to your comment after 10 Months, but...Hideo Kojima didn't put a picture of Snake as a joke.

  • The msx2 version is only available in japanese. Your on the mgs3 subsitence disk huh?

  • @VBMOSTWANTED you can see this easily on the difficults "original" and "easy" ;)

  • Snake looks good in that picture in 6:06

  • I like the MGS3 pictures for the codec better than the ones from the MSX version, but still a great game, if ot one of the best MG!

  • i watch this because idk how to get the game, and i probably wouldnt be able to get it anyways. but i still want to know the story

  • @jetnikka you can play both of the originals on an MSX emulator google it :)

  • I always equate peoples' commentary on playthroughs to people talking in the movie theater, but I suppose I should be grateful that someone made a playthrough for me to watch, so I'll compromise with the mute button. Thanks :)

  • well at least On MGS3 They got rid of those creepy looking digital faces on the codec call

  • heres the games in chonilogical order. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Metal Gear Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Metal Gear Solid Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Metal Gear Solid 4: Gun of Patriots ____________________________________ also MG AC!d and Snakes Revenge arent part of the series
  • @killerbumble Does the original metal gear for NES have any relevance to the story?

  • dont know. i hated the nes one. i just played the msx2 one

  • @killerbumble i hate snakes revenge and ac!d they are the black sheep of the series

  • @killerbumble Let's see where Metal Gear Solid: Rising fits in

  • @DJDesikari It goes somewhere in between MGS4 and MGS2

  • @DJDesikari Metal Gear Solid: Rising is before Metal Gear Solid 4

  • @killerbumble You should've put commas haha got lost a few times

  • @pochaco07 I put spaces like this before I posted like this

    1

    2

    3

But it turned out weird when i posted it.

  • the word is pronounced hunta not junta

  • Dude, couldn't you just STFU while playing?

  • I see you've missed the point. If you want to watch the game without commentary, might I suggest actually playing the game? If playthroughs with commentary aren't your thing, that'll be a lot more fun to do.

  • at 6.05 the picture of solid snake is not dr marv

  • I know. I was just joking about how they were talking about Dr. Marv, but showed a picture of Snake.

  • this game actually has snake, not michael madsen

  • Haha love the snake voice!

  • Looks like they changed the pictures and they edited the dialogue in the subsistence version

  • YOU JUST GOT A SUBSCRIBER! Yay!

  • this game is an upgraded version of the original metal gear 2: solid snake game, like how twin snakes for Game cube was an upgraded version of metal gear solid for PSX. Snake did not look like he does here! And the intro is longer in this one than the original. This game must be on metal gear solid 3 substance game disk. I heard the first 2 game are included on it. But I do like the idea of them doing that.

  • so is there a rom version of this?

not the original, i have that, i want a rom for the PS2 version just for shits and giggs

  • How did you get this game?i've been trying to get it like forever.

  • just get metal gear solid 3 substance or get an MSX emulator and get the original japanese version translated into english either way they are both fun.

  • the jap version translated has crappy mugshots and innacurate info and not retconed and is nothing compared to this.

  • @RiverMGS It's on disc 2 of MGS3: Subsistence.

  • Anyone played Ghost Babel? What's it like? Always wondered how that game turned out...

  • its really fun

  • Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel is just a Spin-off of the Metal Gear Saga, just like Metal Gear Acid!

In MGS 2, the Colonel´s AI says something like the Fortress Galuade, who is the Base from MGS Ghost Babel!

  • Thanx for the info! ^^

  • wait a minut is that metal gear 2?

but metal gear 1 was 3d! wtf!?!?

  • No, it wasn't. You're thinking of Metal Gear Solid 1. The series goes like this:

    -Metal Gear 1

    -Metal Gear 2

    -Metal Gear Solid 1

    -Metal Gear Solid 2

    -Metal Gear Solid 3

    -Metal Gear Solid 4

Kojima called Metal Gear Solid 1 that instead just "Metal Gear 3" because a lot of people wouldn't have played the first two before.

  • oh... thx i didnt knew that

  • You forgot the Gameboy Color game, which is actually really good.

  • I heard it is, but I haven't played it. Plus, as good as it may be, it's not part of the official series storyline.

  • Oh, I didn't know that. At any rate, you should download it sometime. One of the better gameboy games.

  • I'll try to check it out if I can ever find it. I've been meaning to for a while.

  • no its

    metal gear solid 3

    metal gear

    metal gear 2

    metal gear solid

    metal gear solid 2

    metal gear solid 4

  • True, but I was talking about the order the games were released.

  • You forget MPO and MPW...

  • Portable Ops contributes almost nothing to the story, and Peace Walker isn't out yet, so I didn't count them.

  • You're right, but IMAO there are two important things:The first is that Gene give to snake the money and the information needed for the foundation of Outer Heaven, which shoud be cempleted in MPW(Plz,If I'm wrong tell me)the second thing is that he founds the men who wlll found ''Les Militairs sans Frontieres''

  • Well, Portable Ops Plus didn't, but Portable Ops most certainly did, as it mentioned the origins of FOXHOUND, and it gives an early hint as to Big Boss joining the Patriots.

  • No, this is the right order:

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

    Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

    Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

    Metal Gear

    Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake

    Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots

    Metal Gear Solid Rising (maybe)

  • @MagnumBullets47 Seeing as 'Metal Gear Solid - Rising' shows Raiden in his ninja form, I think it's going to be between MGS2 and MGS4; probably with Raiden as the main character and showing how he got where he was in MGS4, maybe even allowing the player to play parts of 4 as Raiden.

  • @MagnumBullets47

i think that Rising is just the events after Mgs2 and during Mgs4 seen from Raidens point of wiev

  • @navylaks2 Yeah, i thought that too when i saw Crying Wolf next to Raiden.

  • @MagnumBullets47 What about the uncannon releases for the NES in America!? Just kidding, of course =)

  • @MagnumBullets47

No this is the correct Order:

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

    Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

    Metal Gear

    Metal Gear 2:Solid Snake

    Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid 2:SOns of Liberty

    Metal Gear Rising

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

  • @kwloy Oh yeah ?! Maybe you should see the date of my comment.... X (

  • @kwloy You left out Peace Walker

  • @MagnumBullets47 i think rising is set before mgs4 when he saves sunny

  • @MagnumBullets47 Metal Gear Solid Rising is before Metal Gear Solid 4, from what I heard. It's what Raiden went through before meeting up with Snake in part 4. After all, in the end he ended up being with Rose and his child, and Snake told him not to fight. Y'know, this comment is 9 months old, but I thought I'd still say something. >>;

  • @Uuzumaki510 Yes, but man, i wrote that comment in september 2009!!

  • @MagnumBullets47 Metal Gear Rising is in between MGS2 and MGS4. It explains how Raiden turned into a cyborg ninja (thanks to MG and MG2's Dr. Madnar)

  • @MagnumBullets47 riseing is ment to be inbetween mgs2 and 4 telling raidens story between those points

  • @MagnumBullets47 i heard rising is now between mgs2 and mgs4. i think

  • @MagnumBullets47 you almost got it right, it goes:

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

    Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

    Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

    Metal Gear

    Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake

    Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

    Metal Gear Solid Rising

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots

  • @iammadrightnow i will say once again, this comment is very old. So expect to see some "old information" about MGS series : )

  • @MagnumBullets47 no METAL GEAR SOLID RISING is before MGS4.

  • @whoreheybangsyourmom I said : MAYBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MagnumBullets47 That order is right, except for rising, because at the end of MGS4 Raiden is no more a cyborg, (or so it seems) i think it's between MGS2 and MGS4.

  • @MagnumBullets47 I think metal gear rising is a story placed between sons of liberty and guns of the patriots

  • @MagnumBullets47 you need vr between metal gear 2:solid snake & metal gear solid

  • portible ops and peace walker are between mgs3 and mg

  • even before mgs 1 metal gear is king of long times with no gameplay

  • It's called cutscenes, smartass...

  • Love different voices, AWESOME JOB!!!! Also R.I.P MJ ;(

  • Tension in the middle east....again..lawl that was funny

Hideo kojima always make's a flashy introduction.

  • narration is ok, when used properly. meaning used to present info or even asking a question while you play. but when you start rambling then that is when I hit close.

  • Ah, Hideo Kojima, The Guy That All Sony Stock Holders Must Pledge Allegence To Every Morning. . . . . And Also Pledge Their First Born. LOL

  • not anymore by the momment, Metal Gear Solid Rising is comming to 360 :(

  • But i have heard that it will come to PS3 and PC also. I got these informations from reliable sources so I exept that it will come to PS3.

So I don't worry about it being XBOX 360 exclusive.

  • great review but i would like to see konami make a 3d version of the originals because alot of important events happen in these two games

  • I loved not having to read the text, thanks :) hopefully you will keep that up throughout the playthrough. Screen is a bit dark though.

  • I would've liked this a hell of a lot more without your narration. And btw, "Czech" is not short for Czechoslovakian. Czechoslovakia doesn't exist anymore.

  • If you would have liked it more without my narration, might I suggest actually playing the game yourself, then? Playthroughs without commentary are pointless, as they give less of an experience than actually playing.

Also, I am not an expert on the nations of the world. I'm bound to make mistakes on these things.

  • i agree. it's so fucking annoying

  • me too, i saw the walktrought of the Metal Gear 1 without narration, it was more interesting, also the owner of the video said that narrations in this kind of videos are pointless, there's no actual enjoying of the video with an annoying voice

  • Well, here's the reason I disagree with that:

If you want the game without narration, you play the actual game yourself.

  • every head it's a world, walktroughts without narrations and annoying voices are better, or maybe short speech like BladeRunner did in his Metal Gear Solid 4 Walktrought, 90% of the comunity will be agree with that

  • I'm sorry, and I don't like sounding rude, but what part of "If you want the game without narration, you play the actual game yourself," is so hard to understand?

  • the part that this is only my damn opinion and u must bear with it, as i watched all of your walktrought with narration, if u don't like it then ignore my post or disable the commentary addition, simple as that

  • ...If you didn't like it, why did you watch the whole thing? Hey, opinions are cool and all, but I just don't get why in earlier comments you were treating your own opinion as fact.

As for disabling comments, that would be a very rude thing for me to do.

  • Why would anybody want to watch a playthrough without commentary? If it annoys you guys so much, look online for a different one. Sheesh!

  • i cant find the crouching button,so I can't get past the fence D:

  • If you're playing this game with a MSX emulator, you should press "N" plus "Space". That'll make Snake crawl.

  • Good Review,Sound Is a little messed up though.

  • Very good video. 5 starred.

  • kuujemma not kuujeema.

  • I've only ever heard it pronounced 'kuujeema'. I'm not saying you're wrong, though. I've just never heard it said that way. I'll have to check somewhere.

  • Talk about uselessly long intros... XD

  • For everyone who was thumbs-downing this guy: I'm pretty sure he was talking about the game's really long opening credits, not me.

  • ty for putting this up tylinos I didn't get the specail MGS3 so I haven't played this yet.
