  • Please read up on red bag deliveries. That placenta should have been ripped open from even before it made an appearance at the vulva. This is an example of what not to do....:S

  • It is a miracle that this foal is alive. Anyone that knows anything about helping a mare give birth, knows that a "red bag" presentation, is a dire emergency. The bag should have been punctured right away and the deliverer to get the foal out as soon as possible. The "red bag" means that the placenta has already separated from the wall of the uterus, thus the foal is being deprived of live giving oxygen. This foal is a TRUE MIRACLE. Only by the grace of God is this foal alive.

  • @Heather3418

You lucky to know what to do because I ask some breeder and each one have a differente way to do with the red bag. Some one think is better to wait, some one said to open the bag. For me, still I dont see the legs I wait. What will you do if one of the leg is not are the rigth place and the placenta is cut ? The foal will died because he can not get oxigene. Nothing is always the true, we try our best and we hope everything will go well.

But you rigth all the birth are a miracle.

  • This filly was born on my birthday!

  • @pix4434 what a beautiful day then, because this little filly is a dream.
