I do performing arts at college and last year we did this as a play on stage xx literally word for word ( it was awesome) & this film is good aswell and for those people who called is gay & stupid clearly don't know anything about the history of our past :)
This play points out points that are true today. . . who are the sane people? how can you tell in our society? It's interesting that it is being put on as if they are insane asylum inmates because you can't really tell that they are insulting the sane people. . . unless you analyze it :) I love this play
@iloveanime7 the introduction does say she is "phenomenally pulchritudinous" (I'm not sure if they say it in this version, but it does in the script). But yes she is :)
@WhittleC Oh my, you just wrote this fivew months ago and I'm on the same dilema, I let you know how I go... sorry for my bad english, I'm from México =)
@kiera986201 Her song is indeed very enchanting, like a lullaby. It is called "The Corday Waltz". The lyrics, though, are in contrast to the mood of the tune; they contain words like "mountains of dead", "murder".
@Viewerz I like how it has that series of brief individual shots of the various inmates ( 6:55 to 7:35 ) while that song is playing,.. kind'a like little character studies.
@StarFlyer16 I, myself, finde the singing clowns particularly memorable. And even the background characters ( various inmates ) are very well portrayed and intriguing.
It started the most violent part of the revolution, and it was pointless: the ideas can´t be killed. And also, fascism has nothing to do with the ideas of Marat, who writes 50 years before....
(Le Sigh) Ohhh, What it must be like to be fighting all the bosses, fighting the businessman the bourgeoisie, fighting all the gentry and fighting every priest. O blessed God let the past ages of Man die and the Our age the age of "The Mountain" that is humanity come to be!
Can't wait to perform in this play :-)

@temptstress666 The setting is a famous insane asylum of that time in the suburbs of Paris, and the inmates are the players.
