I dunno if it was an accident that Wes Studi got just about all the really memorable/quotable lines in "Last Of the Mohicans;" I'd like to think that the writer or director (or both) were astute enough to realize what seriously-talented (if not all that well-known) actor they had taking the role of Magua. That guy has so much intensity, he can be bad-ass and menacing without even appearing to try. Studi deserves major props for his work; it takes a hell of a lot to steal scenes from DD Lewis.

Wes Studi amazed me far more in this movie than as his captain role in Dances With Wolves. Which made me respect him as an actor in itself. He is intimidating in every scene I've ever seen him in. This film is how I came to Eric Schweig and Steve Waddington, and I have to say, the leading moments to, and the final scenes of this film sealed it for me. DD Lewis can act love, Russel means can act vengeance. But Waddington WAS selfless love, and Scwheig ABSOLUTE PASSION. Gotta give it up for them.
