30 TC Product Overview from Hornady®

I bought the 30 TC because I was impressed with it. I haven't gotten to reload yet because I haven't used up all the boxes I bought when I purchased my gun. Im looking forward to tinkering with it. The powder used by Hornady, as im told, isnt availabe off the shelf. The owner of the range where I shoot has a recipe that he claims will get me within 50fps of the Hornady Superformance load.

It's all tit for tat. Just like any other product out there, small improvements are exaggerated by the manufacturer and conveyed to the consumer as the greatest thing since sliced bread! My personal opinion about the round may differ from another's.

Simply put,,,, you can't go wrong with either the .308, 30-06 or the 30 TC.

And if you reload you can achieve exactly the same ballistics across the three loads if you know what you're doing.

Can't find any case dimension specifications, but i did see a comparison picture of the 30tc and a 308 and the 30tc is SHORTER, with no visible greaterness in breadth

Only worth the effort if you reload. Save that brass in case it ever gets discontinued by hornady.

@pirocenter Compare the 30 TC to the 308 in Hornaday's superpreformance loards. The differ very little. The cartridge is marketed toward those people that think that the 308 is weak and the 30-06 is the minimum for certian big game. You can obsiviously see through that.

@theatwo im gonna buy the 30tc. its better than both the 308 and 30-06. you wanna know my main reason? not only does it have a flatter shot but the ammo is half the price. the most expensive i have seen was 24.99 for 20 rds of 165 grain. i know that 308 and 30-06 are proven rds but this tc rd has better ballistics for a cheaper price! IM SOLD!

You know, a 308 winchester with a 155gr bullet will do about 2900fps?

So when the shit hits the fan, stick with 308! its nato standard ammo.
