I must know something. That dragon's chest. Is it so enormous because of oxygen (because he puffed his chest out of his proudness), Fat, or an enormous glob of muscle?
When I first saw this I laughed throughout the whole thing then I played it again and kept on laughing. Amazing job at the who perky-proud-monster thing. Love this walk. And great character design too. Makes me happy :)
The easiest way is to shake the camera. I did this shake in After Effects by just moving the movie up and down in position on each frame - but simply moving the picture up and down as you're shooting it works.
I used I-Stop motion to shoot the actual penci test via a camera and then I imported the quicktime file into After Effects. Not nearly the same quality as scanning or batch-scanning but it works in a pinch!
At my college, we had to batch scan to get it into a digital file, but at another school we did the same thing. It made a quicktime movie. It just seemed easier that way. Didn't know why my college didn't do it.
Kids. Keep steroids away from your dragons

woo :D and it seems like he's stomping hard enough to shake the ground. epic.
Cinnamonloverr 6 months ago
@Cinnamonloverr It's not so much that the dragon is stomping the ground hard, but more that the dragon has to weigh a ton... those muscles...

Wow, I love the screen shake when he steps down on his front foot. Makes it more realistic. Well done.

I'm glad this old cycle remains fun to watch. It was fun to design and animate. Thanks for your comments. I appreciate them. :)

This is pretty badass. I love traditional animation and anyone who has the patience to do it so well. Kudos!

Bit of a delayed response, but thanks :) Appreciated.

With the camera shake, did you actually draw it to look like its shaking or just move the camera? Which would be easier?

Were you able to shoot your fames directly to After Effects or did you have to scan each frame/ or did you use a batch scanner?
